Holy cats athn64 that's a lot of cookies!!! The life of a troop leader. And I'll probably still need to order more to pick up next week.

We do tend to get quite a few boxes for ourselves. I try to ration them so I don't go overboard though. I treated myself to a box of Samoas from my stash in our basement this week to aid in my convalescence. I swear they cut a day off my fever. 😉 Ah see, that's what I've been doing wrong while trying to recover from the flu. 😆

The other dress I ordered was a terrible fit. Is this fancy enough for black tie? Maybe with a fancy belt/accent? I ordered black but keep coming back to look at the green color. I think black might be a better option though The only real drawback is I'm tall so it's closer to ankle length, I wish it grazed the floor

mrsweasley, I think you could make that work with some killer earrings or a necklace.

We had DD2's (7) parent-teacher conference today and her Language Art's teacher shared her "All About" book she recently wrote. She picked the topic "Moms"
So at the end, there is a "Fun Fact" page and she wrote "Moms eat candy when their kids are at school."
I mean, she's not wrong?! LOL

Question - is there a way to block someone from mobile web? I can't figure it out. Do i have to go to a desktop?

I met with the surgeon today and I have 4 weeks of 2x/week PT, a new ankle brace, and some meds to try before surgery. I didn't actually sprain both sides of my ankle, on the inside I have a pretty decent bone bruise, which is why I'm having all of the pain on that side. I'm on high dose Vit D for that. Kind of interesting!

I picked up these earrings at TJMaxx the other day, if I do a fancy belt. They're about 3.5 inches long

I have terrible feet, so I need good supportive shoes. I'm thinking maybe some rhinestone shoe clips to fancy up the plain black flats I have on the way?
Being busty I sometimes feel weird wearing big necklaces, but I'm open to all tips. The only statement necklace I own is the Banana Republic RBG one, which probably isn't fancy enough 😂

I just had a panic attack of a morning. We are supposed to leave tomorrow morning for FL, just my H and myself. My mom and dad were child care for the twins. My mom texted that she got COVID - thankfully my dad and her have been isolated (they don't share a bedroom and my dad works downstairs, she works upstairs) since she got home from Vegas on Sunday so he's fine. But omg scrambling around trying to figure out new child care has my blood PUMPING this morning. We got it figured out between my MIL and my dad but phew. Fuuuuck. That was scary. I was going to full on have an adult tantrum if I wasn't able to get a break, lol.

Ooof I’m glad it got sorted out, willow. I’m also insanely jealous of your ability to secure childcare for adult only trips.

Ooof I’m glad it got sorted out, willow . I’m also insanely jealous of your ability to secure childcare for adult only trips. There is a reason why I wanted to make sure we stayed close to both my ILs and my parents lol. Having both sets of grandparents nearby who are able bodied enough to take them is definitely a huge privilege that I am very appreciative of. Especially because they are NOT easy toddlers, lol. The big kid is easy because he has his other grandparents in WI that we can ship him off there with no trouble. Also very thankful that they take any time they can get with him! This is why your H should be all on board for your parents being nearby! Free childcare!

philo my in-laws are similar in that they're not really kid people. They love their granddaughters, don't get me wrong, but they are pretty hands off when it comes to kids. Contrast that with my mom who was an early education teacher and actively plays/reads/engages with them during visits. Granted we don't live near either set so childcare isn't an option either way. But if we did live near the in laws I can guarantee childcare would not be on offer. Ever.

We also can't depend on grandparents for childcare. When we moved from CA to OH we were so excited to be closer to family (4hrs) and they've just let us down again and again
I'm jealous of people that have that stability/dependability and hope I can be that for my own kids one day

Anyone else having issues with wait times for doctor/healthcare provider appointments? DD and I had dentist appointments scheduled in January. They canceled because our hygienist (and a few others) quit. They can’t see us until AUGUST!
Then I had an endocrinologist appointment for tomorrow that they just canceled because the provider is “unavailable”. They tried to reschedule me for June 30th. I told the woman that was unacceptable since I made this appointment 4 months ago! She was going to reach out to see if they can squeeze me in sometime sooner. I apologized to her but I was so frustrated. I haven’t had a period since July and know the reason but need them to schedule the testing and give me meds. 🙄

I took DD to see her doctor yesterday and talk about my concerns. DD completely fell apart when the doctor was asking her questions and thinks this way more anxiety than what's typical for her age. She initially talked about starting the evaluation process there, but the longer we talked, the more she felt like a psychiatrist would be more appropriate. She said the referral process could take a while, so I reached out to DS1's psych and she's going to see if she can get her in soon for an evaluation. I emailed DD's school counselor this morning to let her know what's going on and see what we can do to help DD until we have a plan. Watching her struggle has been so hard because I haven't been able to help her, and now I'm worried about how long it's going to take to get her evaluated and what it'll mean for the rest of the school year. I'm trying so hard not to get down about it and not doing a very good job. Blah.

LaRo422, we've been there! Sending major hugs <3 Hopefully you can get her in quickly. I don't know if there is a threat of self harm, but our ped said do not hesitate to say that if there is and you are having a hard time getting in.

LaRo422, I'm sorry. I know this is hard on both of you. Does your town have any sort of urgent care for mental health? That's what jumped us in line for DD2 and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It makes me so, so angry how hard it is to find mental health help.

Thanks y'all. Right now, we aren't concerned about self-harm, but her doctor did remind us of resources available if anything comes up. I talked to DS1's psych and was going to schedule with her, but when they sent a new patient packet, there was a note that they do not prescribe any type of stimulant or controlled anxiety meds, which I thought is weird. I'd prefer her not to have to be on anything like that, but we started off DS2 with non-stimulants for ADHD and I also tried that, and it was a giant waste of time for both of us. I met with her counselor yesterday for about an hour and she is putting some things in place to hopefully help her manage her anxiety while at school, and she had me reach out to the assistant principal. He handles implementing 504 plans, and even though they usually need a doctor's diagnosis and recommended accommodations, she said he may be able to put some more things in place that will help her out. Here's hoping!

DC area friends, how strict are the Smithsonian museums on their timed entries? We're hoping we can squeeze in a museum Fri before the rehearsal, we're thinking maybe Library of Congress
