We still haven't exchanged gifts/celebrated with our extended families. DS had the ear infection a few days before Christmas, then exactly a week later developed hives. They are going away in the same way they came in. He isn't bothered by them or itching. It happened once before about 4 years ago after an illness, but still a worrisome occurrence.
Both sides seem a bit bothered, but I am not in a hurry to take him anywhere. Plus it has been the best time together at home. I don't know how I will be able to login to work again Tuesday. I am currently trying to research or dream up a new career that gives me more time to be a Mom.

We took down the tree today. My living room looks empty. It's kind of a somber new year in our house. TW Death. {Spoiler}MH had a friend die unexpectedly last week, so he's been quiet and grieving. The funeral is tomorrow.

FIL ended up shipping gifts and we video called him to do the opening. My family celebrated on NYE. Sorry YS has been ill. I also wouldn't be in a hurry to take a sick kid anywhere.

My littlest friend graduated from early intervention, and I'm like Maria twirling in a meadow with all my time back. We had been seeing OT weekly for 2.5 years, added PT weekly in fall 2021, then a vision teacher 2x a month since this summer. I don't begrudge a single minute of it, but y'all I am tired.

Feeling this to my marrow. We've somehow escaped holiday illness even with flying (thank you masks) (knocks on everything) and I know we are on borrowed time now that school is back.

The kindergartener has agreed to wear a mask at school and only take it off for lunch and recess. Hopefully she's consistent, I'd really like to avoid another trip to the hospital (applies to everyone in the family, though the 3 year old is obviously the most susceptible to potential breathing issues).

It’s only my second day back to work and I feel like I am struggling. While on break I enjoyed doing activities with the girls. I was able to keep the house fairly cleaned up, laundry caught up and most importantly not only spent quality time with H but actually looked forward to it. Th last few months have been rough for us. I feel like everything else was taking precedence over our relationship. It was so nice to be able to focus on being a mom and a wife. 😩

MH's bff is getting married next month in DC. Super fancy black tie wedding/reception both on Embassy Row plus a "welcome party" the evening before
I have literally been wearing soft pants and pajamas the last 3+ years and that 3rd kid, family stress, and the pandemic have not been my friend. I'm probably a 16/18 with a large chest. Someone help me fashion! Even general suggestions on what style I should be going for would be super helpful

I also have a large chest and tend to go A-line or sheath. Something like this would be pretty: www.jjshouse.com/A-Line-Scoop-Cold-Shoulder-Floor-Length-Chiffon-Lace-Evening-Dress-With-Sequins-017275299-g275299

athn64, you are so sweet, thanks for the kind compliment. I love these sorts of threads so I am going to go searching. I have a similar body type from the sounds of it.

I am carrying weight mostly in my midsection and I'm really self conscious about it. I probably just need to just try some things on though. I appreciate the suggestions!

mrsweasley , as an aside, if you find yourself attending without a date, I'll go it sounds fun! I could use a little glamour in my life ETA I'll also add that for the black tie weddings I've been to, there is a WIDE variety of what people wear. Find something you love, even if you don't think it's dressy enough. You can perk it up with accessories.
