Dear Fahrenheit 451 by Annie Spence is a funny yet accurate read of "love letters and break-up notes" to books by a librarian. I just read it because I needed something that didn't require following a plot LOL.

The best book I've recently read was A Visit From the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. It was addictive to read, and so smart. Her newest book, The Candy House, is a kind of sequel to Goon Squad and it's on all the reading lists I've come across. I haven't read it yet but it's supposed to be fantastic.
Do you like historical fiction? I also read The School of Mirrors by Eva Stachniak recently and loved it. It's set during revolutionary France. It follows a girl who is selected to be a child mistress of Louis XV, and then later her daughter, who becomes a midwife.
I'm currently reading Intimacies by Katie Kitamura and I'm enjoying it.

Oh! I also loved Our Country Friends by Gary Shteyngart. It was hilarious and full of sharp social observations. And sweet and sad at times. It's about a group of old friends isolating together at a country "bungalow colony" during the first part of the pandemic.

I’ve been reading but the endings have been so bad
Apples Never Fall by Liane Moroarty (creator of Big Little Lies) - started out great but the ending ruined it
The Hunting Party - meh
The Paris Apartment - bad ending
On a Quiet Street - loved this one!
Behind Her Eyes - it keeps me interested but the twist at the end was 🙄
So basically, don’t read any of these except On A Quiet Street.

I'm about 10 years behind but I binge watched the first 3.5 seasons of Downton Abbey. I then read the fictional While We Were Watching Downton Abbey. It's about a British doorman in a posh Atlanta apartment/condo building who arranges weekly DA watch parties and the unlikely friendships that build from it. It's a sweet book!
