Hello strangers!! Summer is well under way here. Anyone have fun plans coming up? Father’s Day plans? Or tips to avoid the heat?
We celebrated DS1’s bday yesterday with an outdoor party with heat indexes reaching 107. 🫠 Adding this as reason 235 of why we need our own backyard pool.

curmudgeon an outdoor pool sounds divine with those temps for sure. Its been so hot here too except it cools down at night. The kids both started swim lessons and their teacher has a heated pool because the water doesn't warm up until late in the summer. How have you been? Did you ever find another car? Speaking of summer, Taitai aren you stateside yet? If you are DS2 can get his vaccine!

We are finally here! I am just so worn out. For far too long we've felt so helpless but we made it and lil fella got his first jab. He was so excited to go onto the bus and did so so well. In about 6 weeks I can breathe a little more knowing he's protected from severe illness. I mean all we want as parents is to keep our littles safe and to protect them. Hubs and I were talking about how grateful and fortunate we are to have this option. I hope they can roll this out globally so all kids can be protected. PDQ

Hey everyone!! Hope you have all been enjoying the summer, and we’re excited to be heading back to the states later this month. I can’t wait for the boys to experience an actual normal American summer this time around. Our country FINALLY dropped all testing and quarantine requirements, so we don’t have to be paranoid about not being let back in (or sent to a hospital isolation ward) upon our return. It’s just great to see everything settling down and returning to normalcy - pandemic-wise at least. duskymonkey - Yep, we’re getting DS2 vaccinated the day after we land. We’re doing Moderna, since it’s only a 4 week timeline, so he’ll be fully vaccinated by the time we return. Nobody knows when they will approve vaccines for kids under 5 over here, so I just want to get him totally squared away while we are in the states. We also are going to get DS1 boosted (boosters are not approved for his age group over her either). Wohoo! I love the pic of your little guy getting his shot. Way to go! It will be great once he’s fully protected - any travel plans for you all this summer? curmudgeon - Oh man, that is super hot! Yes - you need a pool. It has been so super hot over here too. We’ve constantly been swimming, because it’s honestly the only thing to do when it’s over 100 degrees. I have the boys signed up for swim camp in the USA - I hope the like it!

Oh, one more thing - we’ve been very lucky to have been invited to a traditional Sikh wedding, which has consisted of a series of parties and ceremonies over the past 3 days. There are like 600+ attendees, and so much good food, dancing, and beautiful clothes/decorations. We’ve been having so much fun, and it’s just been such a pleasure to experience this part of Sikh culture and tradition. Makes me so happy that our boys can have these types of experiences as well. Hopefully it won’t be the last Sikh/Indian wedding we attend. So much fun.
