Can we please have a pinned thread through the November election that directs posters to places where they can make a difference? Hopefully we can keep to suggestions that are somewhat vetted so that we can be most efficient with our resources. It could be either candidate or cause specific. Share your thoughts on why you think your suggested candidate and/or organization would be a good place to spend time or money. I’ll start Rep Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) to donate money: secure.actblue.com/donate/slotkinforcongress?refcode=headerher webpage: elissaforcongress.com/why-i-am-running/Rep Slotkin was formerly my rep but due to redistricting, I am now in a VERY red district where my time and money would be better thrown in the garbage. I will continue to donate money and write postcards for Slotkin because she has been an outstanding rep and we need more like her. We need to make sure her district is not flipped this year in order to stay viable in the House. In a surprise twist, Slotkin’s new district was redrawn so that it is listed as an “even” chance of going red or blue (had been expected to be red favored). Her new district includes much more geography and includes Michigan State University. She needs to cover more ground as well as aggressively register voters. I recommend her as a efficient use of your activism resources.

And, as always, Stacy Abrams is always a good place to donate. You can donate to her organization, Fair Fight, which works to register voters and fight against voter suppression: fairfight.com/about-fair-fight/You can also donate time or money to Stacy Abrams as a candidate for Georgia governor: staceyabrams.com/Kemp is currently ahead of Purdue in the primary polls and will most likely face Abrams in the November general. A Kemp-Abrams match-up is again predicted to be very close. Abrams currently polls slightly behind Kemp but if a 5% currently undecided vote swung in her favor, she would win easily. I think a strong voter turnout for Abrams is critical for Warnock to keep his senate seat.

If you're comfortable phone banking, the DNC has "any time" phonebanking resources. Just take a brief (usually about 30 minutes) zoom training and you're free to call voters when you have time. Trainings are available alllllllll the time. The DNC prioritizes who you are calling according to a calendar that accounts for messaging, polling, and front line candidates, among other things, so you can trust that your time is being well used. www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/388091/

Patty Pansing Brooks is in a special election race to replace the open House seat in NE01. linktr.ee/pattypansingbrooksCarol Blood is running to replace the open governor’s seat in November. Currently a state Senator covering LD with the military base. She has a really good chance beat the T and current gov’s candidates. www.electcarolblood.com/State senator page www.carolblood.com/

So I know it’s not exactly the intent of the thread but I want to give a quick plug for mutual aid. Find s group in your area to support, or start one. These groups help people who are suffering and need help *right now*. You can read this short book for more info on the framework: books.google.com/books/about/Mutual_Aid.html?id=njf_DwAAQBAJ

I did a quick read of your link but will go back to digest the info more thoroughly.

Wasn’t able to be on the call but I would love to know what was discussed and what they are asking people to do. Any updates from anyone who attended?

midwestaccesscoalition.org/Great place to donate. Volunteer applications are no longer being accepted, but for any actually willing to volunteer on the ground and get connected with your nearest org in need, there is a virtual training day coming up July 17th. You can apply/ register for the training here: www.aafront.org/operation-save-abortion/Eta, it's already listed above, but wanted to add that Midwest Access Coalition is the organizing entity, and supply the training date.

ACLU is on top of law enforcement stuff. I am a monthly donor and I love getting the quarterly newsletter for the region - I’m always like HELL YEAH lawyers do your thing!

i love stuff like this. People in a community providing what a community needs because they know their community. Those are the best groups to support.
