We've been spared so far but I worry about E and D being in school and still not able to he vaccinated. Our rates in NYC are awful.

Hi! We unfortunately had a very COVID Christmas & New Year but we’re all recovered now. Trying to get back on track with all the things now that I am not completely exhausted. I’m feeling some things about my baby turning 5 this calendar year. 😌

Hey ladies, I miss you all! WE've been spared from COVID thus far but Christmas had to be rescheduled twice due to outbreaks in my family. We ended up having Christmas on January 1 just us, my parents, my brother's family, and his wife's parents. So 8 adults and 3 kids. It was nice.
Not sure if I said this or not but my brother and SIL had their twins Nov. 6. They were full term. E is the boy and weighed EIGHT POUNDS, Z is the girl and weighed SIX. That's a lot of baby! They are doing well. Z had some neuro tremors the first few weeks of life but they have subsided. My brother is having a hard time and had to get on medication but seems to be doing better now. J LOVES them. We saw them on Thanksgiving and Christmas and any time either one cries he grabs them a binky and sings to them. It's adorable.
J still loves school and it's so nice with him being across the hall from me. I'm still worried he will get Covid as he can't be vaxxed yet. My SIL's 2 year old nephew just got it and he is so swollen it's hard to recognize him and he just ended up in the ER on Saturday poor guy.
I'm just stressed and over it all but glad we've been healthy.

Noooooo so sorry for the Covid households @starzia and pennylane. I’m so glad you are all recovered. Would you say it was mild? I’m still so terrified of my kids getting this and am just waiting for it to come from school, ugh. I hate all this! Congratulations on the babies! king26, that’s adorable about J. That is terrifying about your SIL’s nephew. Hoping he makes a quick recovery.

It's February now but I only just now found this post!
Our Christmas break was good. Long though, as the school break got extended with an extra week because of lock-down, and the week prior to that D. got sent home from school because of a covid outbreak in her class. So she was home for 4 weeks total, some of which spent in quarantine (she didn't catch covid though - so far we all been spared) all of which during lock-down. We still made the most of it though and I actually was a bit sad when school reopened after the break! I got used to having her around so much again and we got into a nice rhythm :-)
School is going well, she made several friends and there are playdates scheduled all.the.time or so it feels. Sometimes I have to tell her before dropping her off at school "no playdate today" cause mama can't handle another one ;-) Spring break is coming up later this month and I hope the weather will be nice enough to do some outings. After having been cooped up during a long, cold and slow Winter I need to get out!

Sometimes I wish we could rewind for a little while and just cuddle with our lil babies for a bit. Glad you are recovered!

That is terrifying about your SIL’s nephew. Hoping he makes a quick recovery. D. had several kiddos in her class test positive just before the christmas break. I think like 5 or 6 of them in her class. Some had no symptoms apart from just a bit of a sniffle, a couple others had a fever for a day and that was it. They all were feeling more tired then usual though. My niece felt crappy for some days, and said it felt like a minor flu. So, in my direct surroundings luckily all kids only experienced mild symptoms after getting covid. None of them have any underlying health problems though. I can understand the worry but I have told myself that for D. it's likely not going to be a problem if she was to get it.. otherwise we all go crazy from worrying huh.

I'm sorry to hear your brother is having a hard time, I hope he'll be getting the help and support he needs and will feel better. That's scary about your nephew! I hope he's recovered fully by now!

But it was bearable and the kids were less sick than us again, so that’s what’s important. Adults were vaccinated, kids still too young. It’s a crap shoot. Just saying.
