Hey all, I wasn't around much the last couple days because I was getting ready and catering a meal to 30 of my former coworkers. I. am. exhausted. I slept in this morn and DH went too church without me and now I'm soaking in the tub. I feel like I will never have energy again. DH says there's a BBQ competition at a park near us, so he's talking about going to buy lunch there. I think I'll encourage the idea. 😉

Did everything go well?

I slept like crap last night and woke up at like 5 nauseated. We went to bed last night at 1200. I didn't fall back asleep until about 0630 and then had to get up again at 0815 because I was scheduled to be in the nursery at church. I was sooooo close to calling and saying I couldn't be there but I just didn't have it in me. I am glad I went because the other girl that is usually there was not and my not being there would have been bad. Plus I didn't realize I had a meeting I was supposed to go to. So all in all it is good that I went but now I am exhausted and sitting in the drive thru at Wendy's because nauseous and just want something I don't have to make.

Did everything go well? I made a Mexican meal and served it in the break room where I used to work. Like I only quit 2 weeks ago. It went good except one crockpot didn't really do its job and the rice didn't turn out very well. Everything else was great except I totally regret doing it solo.

DH already said he plans to mow the lawn today so I told him I would be firmly planted on the couch this afternoon.

Most of them come from a PA Dutch background and never went to Mex restaurants because they were kinda scared to try something new or were scared of the spicy stuff.

nuggetrn I fully approve of Wendy's and am now craving some myself. I woke up the most nauseous I've been and have been laying on the couch while G watches Daniel Tiger. MOTY right here. H went to a bachelor party last night so I'm waiting for him to come home so he can adult.

I fell asleep on the couch for probably only about an hr and a half. But waking up I seriously felt like it was probably closer to 6. It was such a deep sleep. Now I just feel groggy. Ugh

nuggetrn, your mention of Wendys has me craving Chik Fil A now! I made MH stop for Chick Fil A on our way to his parents' last weekend. It was my first pregnancy request and so worth it.

I just realized I got a million mosquito bites last night. We're in NJ...I shouldn't be stressed about Zika, right???

I just realized I shouldn't be doing pilates anymore. The class I go to is a mat class mostly focusing on your abs, I thought it was fine until the 2nd tri, but apparently doing ab work while pregnant can cause diastasis recti. Ugh.
I really swore to myself I was going to keep working out this pregnancy and this is not making it easy. The two classes I go to are half pilates so now I don't know what to do.

I would talk to your instructor and/or find a Pilates instructor that works with pregnant women and ask them. I've read scary stuff online about doing NO ab exercises because of distasis recti, but I've also read that in moderation, some ab exercises can still be good. I would want to talk to a professional about it. I plan to at the very least ask my midwife about the exercises I would like to do.

I called my OB practice and the receptionist was like "nothing strenuous. Basically...just walk". LOLZ I finally got her to say she'd ask and have them call me back and when I gave her my list of what I do (running, pilates, kettle bell, barre) she just paused for a long time.

So I was majorly into Pilates before my first, I did mostly reformer classes multiple times a week, but it became unbearably uncomfortable very quickly like at 6 weeks or so and I stopped. I think light abs is ok, but I've never been to a Pilates class (mat or reformer) that was light abs... barre classes are a great sub to stay active, be kinda similar, but go easier on the belly. I highly recommend it if you have a place by you. I have been a number of studios and they have all been well equipped to handle pregnant women in "regular" classes. I will definitely be doing that this time around as well bc the lunges are good for baby's positioning and I'm really hoping for a head down baby this go around!

jewel, my studio is a pilates/barre studio. I used to go to strictly barre classes (which I prefer) but now it's changed to 1 class is half pilates and half barre and the other is half pilates and half kettle bell. My OB called back and said that I can keep doing whatever I was doing before, thankfully! So I'll just see what I can do and if I can't do something....I'll just go do some plies haha.

I just realized I got a million mosquito bites last night. We're in NJ...I shouldn't be stressed about Zika, right?? per google there have been a few cases in NJ, but none had been acquired locally and were not transmitted within the state. Meaning they got bit while out of the country but came to NJ and was diagnosed. You should be good to go.

I've been doing yoga for a couple years now, but I'm not feeling super comfortable doing it while pregnant. Even poses that weren't specifically stretching stomach muscles felt weird and almost like I was going to pull a muscle. Dr. said I should continue exercise as usual. I'm just feeling a bit hesitant. I will still probably do some gentle yoga but I'm bummed because yoga is exercise I actually enjoy. My yoga studio does have a prenatal class but it's in the mornings on weekdays, so not happening with my work schedule.
