Figured I would start a new check-in thread since it's been a couple of weeks...
Weeks Pregnant:
Baby is the Size of a:
FTM/STM/TTM/etc.:
Appointments:
How are you feeling?
Rants/raves?
GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cooking or cleaning? Or something else?

Weeks Pregnant: per my scan today, I am 5+6, due 10/22. I assume that may change by a couple days back and forth over the next few weeks.
Baby is the Size of a: Jelly Bean!
FTM/STM/TTM/etc.: STM, we have a 5 year old DD
Appointments: Still seeing my RE on a weekly basis for ultrasounds. Everything has been looking great! I went today and we saw the heartbeat for both babies!
Baby A has a heart rate of 113, measuring 3.1mm, putting it at 5+6 Baby B has a heart rate of 104, measuring 2.9mm, putting it also at 5+6
Doc said what they want to see is the babies measuring in similar size & he is happy with both of their growth and is seeing exactly what he should for their gestational age! I am feeling like I can breathe out a high sigh of relief, and then I immediately breathe in a "OMG WE ARE HAVING TWINS"!
How are you feeling? So, so, so, so, so, so, insanely tired. Also, very very constipated. I am having a lot of round ligament pain, especially when I sneeze/cough, and in some positions when laying down. All things considered, pretty good though. Only a few small bouts of nausea, thankfully.
Rants/raves? Rant? I hate how slowly time moves in these first few weeks! It's just so touch and go. I feel like we cleared a huge hurdle today with seeing the heartbeats.
GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cooking or cleaning? Or something else? CLEAN for sure! Especially someone to deep clean the entire house. The daily upkeep is one thing, but it's such a drag to do the deep cleaning. My wife is a SAHP and I told her the 1st thing we are doing when she goes back to work is to hire a cleaning service (which now will be years).

Weeks Pregnant: 7w 3d
Baby is the Size of a: Dice
FTM/STM/TTM/etc.: TTM
Appointments: March 3 - meeting my new Dr.
How are you feeling? Nauseous, tired, unmotivated to do absolutely anything.
Rants/raves? I would like to feel like doing anything. My house is a mess... but I have no idea where to start. All I do is sit around in survival mode for the moment.
GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cooking or cleaning? Or something else?
Both? I SAH and I feel like I just get things clean for them to get dirty again. I don’t mind cooking usually but with being so nauseous it’s not fun.

Weeks Pregnant: 9w 3d
Baby is the Size of a: cherry
FTM/STM/TTM/etc.: TTM
Appointments: met with the genetic counselor this week. Will get blood drawn for NIPT next week, then first tri scan on 3/12.
How are you feeling? better!
Rants/raves? my area is making COVID vaccine appointments available to those with high risk health conditions starting 3/1, and pregnancy is included! BUT, the website to make appointments has been terrible - had a glitch yesterday and appears to have a different glitch today. Not to mention the slowness from all of the people trying to get appointments. It's so frustrating, I feel like I'm so close! Are y'all getting vaccinated when it's available? All of the OB/MW practices here are recommending it. I thought about waiting until I was in the 2nd tri but I'm pretty close, and by the time I can actually get an appointment I might be there anyway.
GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cooking or cleaning? Or something else? We already have a cleaning service that comes every other week (lucky, I know!). I really hate cleaning so that will always be the first thing I outsource. I actually like cooking but I like when I have the time to make an interesting meal. It's tough these days with two littles who don't love to eat everything and about 20-30 min to make dinner each night.

I’m pretty sure my grandma suspects something... when she called last night it was: “How are you doing?” Me-“oh I’m good. Just tired” (which I’ve said plenty of times before) “Why are you tired Whatsit? Why are you tired?” All suspicious like.
She knows about our loss so she knows we are/were trying. It was just too funny. She could tell my sister got a new job just by how she said hello to her too.
If we make it far enough, telling her will be fun since this ones due date is on her birthday.

We still haven't told anyone yet but one close friend and one neighbor are telling people and they're due around the same time as me. I kind of want to tell my friend but feel like I should tell our parents first.

We've told a decent amount of people. Not so many that it's public knowledge or anything, but we've been ttc for so long and since we did IVF we've kept some people in the loop along the way. Just told my dad and sister last night. I think we will tell extended family on easter. Beyond that, not sure what kind of/if any announcement we will make. We shall see.

Reasons I love my husband 8 week pregnant edition - He puts up with my crazy cravings and runs out at random times to pick them up.
Brought to you by my 8:30pm craving for spring rolls. 🤦🏻♀️

I can't stay away from carbs. That's all that seems to satisfy me, albeit not for long. I tried with salad, I felt sick eating it - just wasn't sitting in my stomach right. Fruit & veggies are OK, it all just feels like it doesn't sit right. But carbs.....they go in and make my stomach less upset. It's like I need the carbs to absorb liquid in my stomach, all the other food just sits in the liquid and sloshes around.
Hopefully this will get better, because I cannot keep eating carbs at this rate.
I just ate a white cheddar everything bagel with cream cheese and EBT seasoning on the top and it was soooo good.

Dr appt today.
We had a deep discussion on my due date since I think the ultrasound tech wrote the LMP due date but the correct gestational age based on size. So yes I’m 8w 2d but they’re saying I have an EDD of Sept 24. Which... doesn’t quite add up. Anyway.
I really like the dr though. He spent time listening to my concerns and my AL worries. Said we could up my depression/anxiety meds if needed because “a happy mommy makes for a healthy baby”. He’s totally old school and still hand writes his prescriptions which I found adorable. 😂

That's some interesting math they did there. Glad you have a great Dr. though whatsit. It makes such a big difference. I had my blood draw today for the NIPT. We'll discuss the results at my first tri screen next week. We asked them not to tell us the sex. We found out with both of our other two, but we're thinking about staying team green this time, especially since we have one of each already.

Also, possibly related to the carbs, I feel like I already have a little belly. It especially comes out at night. 10w over here, looking like 16w lol.

Had another weekly ultrasound this morning. All still looks good! Couple things to note though.
Last week, both baby A & baby B were measuring at 5w6d.
This week, Baby A is measuring at 7w1d, heart rate of 151 and Baby B is measuring at 6w6d, heart rate of 130. So...there is now a slight difference. Doc said nothing to worry about, just something to continue to monitor. I asked if he would be worried about the size of baby B if there wasn't baby a to compare to, and he said not at all. Also, I am taking solace in the fact that baby b grew 7 days in 7 days, so it's not like B's growth slowed down, it's just that A jumped ahead a bit. Which, is not surprising. Every ultrasound Baby A has been a little more advanced....for the 5 week scan we could clearly see the yolk sac in baby A, but not in B. The week later, though they measured both at 5w6d, baby A still had a faster heartrate and was slightly longer from crown to rump.
THe more data I have the more my head is spinning!
Also, they noted 2 SCH. 1 behind each sac. Doc said they are intermediate sized. Again, nothing to necessarily worry about, but something to monitor.
So, that being said, I stay with my RE clinic for 2 more weeks. So I will go the next 2 Thursdays, and then I have my 1st appt with my OB the following week at 10 weeks.

allthekristys - from the start both of my babies have measured different. Even now, baby boy weighs more than baby girl. As of now, they are about a lb apart. Heart rates are always different too, but within range of where they should be. My MFM told me to look at it like it’s two different pregnancies and babies. I was so new to all this and freaked out when their initial dating ultrasound was different. My RE also said that can change depending on who implanted first.

As I was digesting everything, and then talking to my wife, I was kind of coming to the realization that this was likely the very beginning of a lifelong comparison of the 2 of them. Poor kids I hope you don't mind but I may pick your brain about some twin specific questions related to pregnancy (now and later). Are you seeing a MFM since it's twins? I've been wondering if I should expect that as well. I go for my 1st OB appt on 3/25, and it's a big practice with MFM included in the practice, so I assume I will, but just wondering what's the norm. How often have your appts been? Do you just go monthly 1st tri? Thanks so much!!

I started seeing her around 13 weeks when they did the NT scan. First it was once a month, then twice a month once I hit my third tri, and I saw her last around 33 weeks. She was monitoring growth, my liver stuff, and glucose readings. I failed the 3hr by a small bit, but glucose has been okay and controlled so far. I basically got anatomy scans Everytime I saw her. I started NSTs last Friday at 34 weeks. When I saw her around 29 weeks, she sent in her recommendation as to when I should deliver to my OB. So when I saw my OB, they scheduled my cs for 37 weeks based on all my screenings and bloodwork. Usually with di-di pregnancies they recommend 38 weeks, but they set mine up for 37 weeks to keep my liver from over straining. Oh and they start checking your cervix length around 17 weeks. Lots of ultra sounds. I learned that baby A is whoever is closest to the cervix. Currently, mine are both head down and lord it’s painful.

allthekristys started a new post so we don’t have Quote trees. This is the one I use now. But now I don’t wear it as much because sometimes I just want to sit without the restraints. Maternity Belt Waist Abdominal Back Belly Band Pregnancy Belt Support Brace www.amazon.com/dp/B01GCO9I3M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_R678F34GGQ3GA0F8G1HKAt first I used bodyshaping shorts or underwear and it gave the perfect support. Then I stopped fitting in them. I regret not getting the belts with the crotch support. The crotch pain is intense some days.
