I’m wanting to go more natural with my hair. It’s pretty wavy/curly and I’m thinking it’s 2B. I’ve always straightened it and occasionally curled it with a wand, but I’m wanting to bring out the natural curl. Where do I start? I’ve heard the curly girl method isn’t the best way to do it, but that’s just what I’ve heard. I don’t know what products to buy, or if there are good sources on YouTube or wherever that I can watch videos. TIA!

The biggest thing I'd avoid is a curly girl haircut unless you plan to only ever wear your hair curly. My hair is curly but I also like to wear it straight sometimes. A curly girl cut does not look good straight in my experience. One of my favorite curl creams is the coconut milk one from ogx which can be found pretty much everywhere. www.ogxbeauty.com/shop/coconut-curls/frizz-defying-curl-styling-milk/I don't shampoo very often and usually just get my hair wet again to reset my curls. With the cream above. Also when I'm about to get out of the shower i flipp my head and let the water run down with it upside down. Putin the cream and scrunch product in while scrunching some water out. Then I grab my towel and scrunch a bit more. Style into place and then air dry.

I recently wanted to do the same after getting a cut since I have thick, heavy hair that curls well after a shower. I went to a hair stylist and she recommended using a leave-in conditioner after showering. I also live in a really humid area so I put in a hair elixer too. I switched shampoo and conditioner to a silicone free type and this has helped a lot more. So my routine and products are:
Pantene deep detox & renew with charcoal silicone free shampoo and conditioner
After shower I mix together Ouidad moisture lock leave-in conditioner and use Garnier Fructus Triple Marvelous Oil hair elixer (mix the conditioner with a little bit of the oil, put in damp hair, and brush through, then scrunch).
Hope this helps! I suck at doing my hair so this is a huge learning curve for me.
