I'm a page behind but +1 to not caring about Beyonce. I don't get why you would pick a first name that sounds so stupid alone that you have to use his full name all the time. And what if these kids grow up to be "normal" people and have to deal with dumb names as adults?

Well night one of vacation was not good. The kids did great, but you know what the most terrifying and annoying thing in the world is? Being woken up at 12:30am to a fire alarm going off. It stayed on for 5 mins then shut off, then 5 mins later it went off again. H and I both grabbed a kid and headed down to the lobby. Some fu*ktard kids pulled the alarm twice. It took them 20 mins to turn the alarm off the second time. Got back to our room just after 1am and E didn't fall back asleep until 3. 5am rolled around and the fucking alarm goes off again. H stormed out of the room and I sat with my fingers in my ears praying the kids wouldn't wake up. Thankfully they both slept through it, but it took them over 40 mins to shut it off. H even offered to help them silence it while waiting for the FD, but that didn't work. LSS entire family is tired and cranky and even the coffee isn't helping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk OH hell no. I'm so sorry. When I was 10 we went on vacation during spring break. Some dumbasses pulled the fire alarm every fucking night we were there. Talk about annoying to walk down 15 flights of stairs.

So C discovered how to shrug a couple weeks ago and did it constantly for a few days. I tried to get a picture but he would do it so fast. I only got one half-shrug but it's blurry of course.

As I was trying to fall back asleep I was thinking of all the ways I'd punish those kids if they were mine. Let's just say my kids won't want to piss me off at 1am. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't get the appeal of Beyoncé What am I missing? Naming her child Sir isn't helping. +1 in not getting the devotion for Beyonce! I think there are better singers, her last few albums haven't done much for me (but 1 or 2 songs... I know that's not how the industry works anymore) but her first few albums, I love the whole album! Down 1.6 for 11lbs total!!!

waitwhat, Tina Knowles said welcome Rumi Carter and Sir Carter! So maybe not Carter Carter!?! Well I guess that is an improvement. Still bad, but an improvement. ETA: sophiegrace I'm not really a Beyoncé fan either. I liked some of her early stuff ok but just haven't been impressed the last few years. Part of it is that I'm #old, so there's not a ton of 'pop' music that I like. I also think she's a victim of over-exposure (see also the Kardashians) and that is a turn-off to me, too.

Just read an article that people are having buyer's remorse over their 'tiny houses' and wish they'd bought larger homes.
I'm sure this surprises no one.

I don't care how much you throw away and how much you down size your belongings, there is just no possible way to fit everything you need in some of those places. I could see maybe if you lived alone in a climate that didn't require different clothes and jackets for each season maybe. Other than that, no way. And some of those people have kids! Privacy, yo. Sometimes I need it.

M learned to wave at the very same time she realized that her index finger fits perfectly up her nose.

Just read an article that people are having buyer's remorse over their 'tiny houses' and wish they'd bought larger homes. I'm sure this surprises no one. It's just not realistic. Maybe if you lived by yourself in a warmer climate, but even then I would find it difficult. I get the minimalist thing (sorta) but I seriously don't believe that trying to cram your entire life into 300sqft is a good idea. Also, for the amount that some of these tiny houses cost, these people could probably get a condo for not much more. And often times they still need to buy land to keep their tiny house on, so really, they're still spending like $100-150k, for something that's smaller than a studio apartment.

Thank you for the sleep advice sophiegrace and jubilantsquirrel . I just tried putting AV down for a nap in the crib but she was hellish. I rubbed her back and kissed her forehead and kept talking to her and got her through the worst of the upset but she was fighting sleep so bad (I know she's exhausted, it's been 4+ hours).. So I picked her up and let her fall asleep in my arms in the rocker. I know this isn't how it works but part of me feels bad ripping all her security away at once (or is it better to do that?) - they are rocked to sleep, with bottles, in the living room, with each other there, etc. The nursery is completely new to them. This time AB fell asleep in the car so H is already downstairs with him and not sure bringing him up would make a difference.

kleigh, maybe move your nap time/bedtime routine to the nursery instead as a start? Then once you think they're more used to being in the nursery you can start trying to putting them down in their cribs before they fall asleep.

kleigh it's a process for sure. If you want to talk about it I can give you more of what I tried, but I don't want to overwhelm you with unwanted information. Plus, I'll admit to feeling a bit silly giving advice since my baby is still a card carrying member of the non sleeper club of America. I will offer you hugs though. It's a lot for US to get used to. Between pregnancy and postpartum they've been attached to us for more than a year. It's a little bit of a visceral pain when I think about it a little too much.

Hi ladies. Checking in super late today. Re: Beyonce, those names are dumb. Idk why famous people think their kids have to have dumb names. Wouldn't everyone have been just as blown if they named them Ken and Mary? waitwhat why no Mexican food?? kleigh ugh such a bummer about your knee, I hope you'll be able to run again soon. tjanca22, that completely sucks about the fire alarm! Cheshie6 girl WTG on the weight loss!! I've been home solo with the babies today and it's been pretty fun. We had breakfast at a little cafe in town then shopped a little before coming home for lunch. DS went down for a nap and I watched an episode of OITNB (which I just started the other night) and then when D was ready to nap I put her down and went to sleep myself for about 2 hours. DS is awake now but Sleeping Beauty in there is still out even though it's almost 6 p.m. I should probably crack her door so that DS's loud mouth can "help" her wake up lol H is coming home in a few hours with sushi!!

Update in the pedi appt:
Pedi update:
Pink eye & he's giving me a referral to an eye doctor since his tear duct is still clogged.
I need to start giving him Zyrtec everyday.
The black spot...he doesn't know what it is. Just by looking at it he thought it was a hole/cleft palate. Once he felt around he said it's not a hole. He said it could be a bruise or a hemangioma, but he's never seen one look like that. So he referred us to an ENT.

dashook LOL at Ken and Mary. So true, though! I just can't imagine waking up and thinking, "I'm going to name my baby Sir (Carter?) Carter. Perfect." Or Apple. Or North. Or any other out-there name you see on these celebrities' kids.

tgrimes glad you got some answers. I'm anxious to see what the ENT dr says though. dashook sounds like a fun day. Very ambitious of you to do that with both kids solo. A trip to target with them both and I'm exhausted. I should elaborate. I wanted Mexican takeout from this place around the corner from us that is amazing AF but we settled on making tacos at home. So it's alright I guess.

Paging starbuck. One of my FB friends just posted a picture of herself in a blond wig stating that her Starbuck wig arrived just in time for Comicon. I assume this is your Starbuck. Do you have such a wig? I'm suddenly very curious about this character.
