I’m dealing with cystic acne along my jaw line, which is confusing because I take a pretty serious birth control that doesn’t allow me to get my period all that often. I don’t have a ton of experience with this. Any rec’s on how to get my jawline sorted? emma, Taitai, @karenwalker .... anyone else who wants to chime in?

Oh no! I’m sorry, I know that can be so painful. Have you changed anything in your skincare routine lately? Or, any detergents or something else that could be irritating your skin? What kind of actives do you use? Anything with salicylic acid? That’s the standard acid for acne I believe. I’m a huge fan of Tracy Robey at Fanserviced B. She doesn’t post much on her blog anymore but she’s very active on IG. She’s chronicled her journey with cystic acne over the years. She recently did acutane (last resort, not saying you need it!!) but I think her latest recommendation for treating acne is Differin gel or azaleic acid. I think she has a prescription for Finacea (higher concentration) but I think The Ordinary makes a good version. In the meantime, have you tried the Cosrx pimple patches for the active breakouts? They really do help with healing and I think they can make the pimple less painful. I am a huge fan of them. Thank you sooo much for all the wonderful information. This board has such a tremendous depth of knowledge. I am going to Cosrx pimple patches. That’s what I think right now. You reminding to think about what’s different. I’m back in the office more frequently wearing makeup (which I haven’t worn a lot of recently) and not washing my masks as frequently as I should. I am going to pick up my game there and see if that helps.

I’ve been using differin gel and mighty patches. I had it under control until masks became a thing. Now I’m back to square one. I feel your pain.

So I recently got the Cosrx good morning cleanser and it smells pretty strong. Almost like plastic? Wondering if I got a bad tube or if it usually smells like that...
Argh, wrong thread. Will re-post in Asian beauty.
