I really don’t have a question, I’m just tired of this rollercoaster and wanted somewhere to put my thoughts and story.
The long of it: Because my dating ultrasound was too early for a heartbeat(5w5d), my dr sent me for an emergency u/s at 8w5d (also because of some spotting). At the appointment there was no heartbeat and only a large yolk sac - measuring about 7w. The tech said it was inconclusive and he wanted to bring me back in for a follow-up (Dr doesn’t give results for 2-3 days anyway).
The following weekend, before I get any results, I start bleeding and assume I’ve MCd naturally. I got taken to the hospital in an ambulance because I got lightheaded after bleeding for 2 hrs. The on call Dr barely even looked at me, told me to get an ultrasound later that week and checked that hemoglobin was ok.
I got a call from the original Dr a week after the original ultrasound to discuss the results. Explain I had MCd over the weekend, have an U/s booked for a couple days and I’ll come in for a follow up anyway.
Today was the follow-up. Apparently the newest u/s showed the yolk sac still there - and the Dr was upset the on call hadn’t examined me or anything.
So I’m getting hcg levels checked today and Wednesday before I go in on Friday for what will probably end up being a D&C.
I’m just tired. I want to be able to grieve and not deal with the hospital and all it’s reminders for a while.

Oh whatsit I’m so, so sorry. The limbo period is awful. It’s all awful but it really sucks when the whole process gets dragged out. I’m sorry. 💛

I'm so sorry, whatsit. I was in a similar limbo back in August. It's exhausting and depressing. Sending you love. You are strong, and you are gonna get through this. Feel free to vent anytime you need to. This shit is hard.

Thank you so much ladies for the support. It means so much that you keep an eye on this board for new posts and are here when people need you. <3
H ended up going for a Covid test today, so I had to have a phone consult. They only do them after clinic hours so I didn’t hear back until late this afternoon.
Confirmed an incomplete miscarriage - he’s having me go to emerg Monday night when he’s on call (I live in a small town). I can avoid the clinic while waiting for Hs results and have appropriate PPE. Going to try medical intervention first and go from there.

Luckily H was negative.
Still being dragged out. Medical intervention didn’t do much so Dr didn’t know if there just wasn’t a lot left over or my body is holding on. Getting HCG levels checked again on Monday and then I’ll find out Wednesday whether I’m good or move on to D&C.
It’s been 3 weeks. I just want to know what’s happening.

whatsit I'm sorry this is dragging on. Is there a reason they didn't send you immediately for a D&C once they saw it was an incomplete MC? Thinking of you ❤

Thinking of you ❤ I think there were a few different reasons. Waiting on Hs test results, my dr wanting to use a more “natural” approach and let my body try to do it itself and then me having crazy anxiety about the D&C.

((( whatsit))) I’m so sorry you’re going through this. FWIW, I had a D&C a few years ago and it was a very easy surgery (physically). It was short, I had no pain and the recovery was fine. I’m keeping you in my thoughts. ❤️

Thanks so much for the kind words. HCG is slowly coming down - so no D&C needed. Was 458, 2 weeks ago and got my results from Monday at 76. End is in sight?! Thank you caer. I don’t know what it was about a D&C that scared me so much. I think a lot of it is just a fear of the unknown. Also he mentioned putting me under - I think that’s the part that worried me most. But thank you for the reassurance.
