C is doing well! He's toddling all over the place and getting into everything. He doesn't talk much yet beyond the occasional "Dada", but he's starting to really try and communicate by leading us places and pointing and nodding. Hopefully the words will come soon, too! His Dr isn't concerned as of yet since he seems to have good receptive language. He's still a peanut, at 15 months he was just under 19 lbs, 8th percentile for weight and 2nd for height. Oh, and he has 12 teeth now since all 4 molars came in recently.

Hello!
So much tantruming around here lately. He is not a patient kid.
Which makes me nervous for this next bit. I'm pretty sure I mentioned the SoCal allergy place at some point? Well we got an email last week that we reached the top of the waitlist. It only took 7 months instead of the originally estimated 21 which is great, but means when we start appointments in the next couple months I'll have to fly cross-country with a 19-20 month old. I'm a little worried how he's going to handle the flights!

Nymeria OMG the tantruming! the other day, I gave him a cookie to keep him busy while I was cooking, and he reached through the gate to give it to the dog, who took the cookie and ate it, which caused C to lose his little mind, because apparently he only wanted the dog to borrow the cookie? So I gve him a new cookie and then he cried because he wanted to give the cookie to the dog again and I stopped him. Then, I put him in his high chair, where he took a few nibbles and then threw it on the floor like 5 times. I finally threw it in the trash and got him down and he flipped out because the cookie he didn't want to eat was in the trash. Gave him a new cookie and put him back in the high chair and he threw it down again and then cried because I left it on the floor. He's lucky he's cute and we kind of laugh at him when he has a ridiculous tantrum. I flew with C a few weeks ago and it wasn't terrible. He was definitely wiggly and wanted to get down, and got cranky when he was tired, but lots of snacks helped, and letting him mess with my phone and watch shows on the tablet.

Dramaphile - You literally just described a day in our house.Gets mad, throws food, dog eats food, gets mad food is gone. We'll have to bring big brother's Kindle. I'm thinking I'll have to invest in a cheaper, lightweight car seat too since we'll need a car seat in Cali whether I taxi or rent a car. Plus while the idea of a lap infant to save money sounds nice, he will probably prefer to have his own seat.

Since we shared birth stories here, you guys might be interested - I was picked to tell my birth story on the Birth Hour podcast and my episode went up last week! That's awesome - I'll have to remember to come back and listen when I'm not at work!

I did lap infant because my kids tend to be stage 4 clingers on planes and neither would want to sit with my husband so at least we had a row to ourselves. The Cosco Scenera is a great lightweight cheap seat. Walmart has them for under $50.

Wow, I'm so surprised to see activity here! I actually haven't checked for a long time because I thought everyone left! Dd just turned 18 months and is talking up a storm (which I don't know if anyone remembers but the pedi suggested speech therapy at 9 months), she has about 8 teeth coming in, and if I'm not watching her she's climbing onto the kitchen table. Her and dd1 are either hugging or fighting most of the time and there's really no in between.
Dd1 got really difficult at this age and dd2 is following in her footsteps. Her favorite things to say right now are "noooooooo!" And "mine!" Thankfully dd1 is getting a little bit easier, but dd2 is making up for that 😬
