I am feeling bad about being a longtime lurker on this board and how it is now languishing, so here I am to be part of the solution.
I’m in total denial that my baby has a 2nd birthday coming up in April. One of her newest party tricks is to correct anyone who calls her a baby: “no! Toddler!”
With birthdays just around the corner, does anyone have any fun or practical gift ideas?
I have pool toys and terry cloth robe on our list in preparation for summer pool time.

Hi!
Thanks for starting this. We’ve kinda tapered off here but I try to check in when I remember.
A has her birthday on Friday and I am not ready at all. We won’t have a party until the next weekend as H is working.
As for presents we got her some clothes and an Elsa doll. She’s also been really into dressing and putting on shoes or random pieces of clothing she finds around the house so I got her a little princess dress up set today.

We didn’t have a party last year so I am hoping to have a nice big one this year!! It’ll be dog themed because he loves dogs. I’ve got nothing else...

Hi!!! TWO YEARS OLD! what! Seb's birthday is Sunday but DH works so won't do much. Really trying to rein it in compared to last year. We'll have supper and cake Tuesday eve. Just his grandparents and one couple we're good friends with who's kids he always talks about. I'm gonna decorate a train cake cause he got a train set for Christmas that he's really into and I showed him some Thomas videos on my phone so now all trains are Thomas and he's obsessed lol. We started potty training a couple weeks ago and he's in boxers at home/while awake! 👏 We're working on the away from home part and we'll worry about night time training after that. He has lots of words and does a lot of "mum! Cow! Mum! Cow! Mum! Cow! Or mum! Seb. (a)Choo! Mum! Seb. Choo! Mum! Choo!" Over and over until i repeat exactly what he said. Not getting much for gifts. I have the green toys ferry that I got on Amazon sale last fall and I think DH is getting him a conductors hat& scarf+ train whistle. That should be a bit since he's obsessed with hats. My sister will get something for his train set, maybe a Thomas, and a few family members probably get him little things also. I really wanted to take him to the zoo but we'll wait for warmer weather and maybe settle for visiting some cows(also obsessed lol). Here's the table service for the party.

I’ve been struggling with 2. It seems so grown up for my baby 😭
I took Friday off and we went for a road trip to the dinosaur museum and out for supper. Then my family came in and we had ice cream cake, which B loooved.
Next weekend we are doing a joint LEGO themed party for the boys. It’s birthday-palooza in this house.

Hey whatsit, I just saw schools are closed. Wanted to check in and see how you are doing? And everyone else of course. Hey! Doing ok. DS was more concerned with the rec centre closing than he was with his preschool lol. I SAH so that didn’t affect us too much, luckily. I offered childcare to his classmates if anyone was stuck but nobody reached out. Ran and grabbed groceries so we can lay low for a bit. H works in the trades so he can’t wfh or anything. But as soon as they found out the schools closed, they called to make sure he was ok for childcare which I thought was awesome. How about you? Are you able to wfh at all?

We did ds birthday party today. It was a dog party...via zoom. My dad got him a mini custom cake and we put dog backgrounds on our zoom images, we played dog bingo and he got a few fun presents. Not the party I imagined, but I think he had fun.
