It's already halfway through December.
How's everyone doing?
How are the babies? What are they getting up to now?

I finished my second semester of nursing school yesterday and made dean's list! I am so looking forward to having a month off now.
Little man is awesome. We had some struggles the first few months with him being cranky and colicky and crying what felt like constantly. He has grown out of that and is just a happy little dude. He isn't really rolling yet that I've noticed but we also rarely just lay him on the ground - my almost 2 year old is a bit of a human wrecking ball haha. The last few nights he has only had one wakeup, so I'm hoping we get a stretch of that for a while!! All in all we are doing great.

We are doing good. D had his first cold, I think big brother brought it home from school. Sleep could be better. He’s still doing 2 wake ups per night. I would love to get that down to 1 or none!

As of yesterday I have a six month old and I don’t even know how that is possible.

Congrats on dean’s list peachesncream! We are doing well over here. DD was sick with some sort of virus last week but she’s well again. 4 mo sleep regression is still sticking around and we are up at least twice a night again. 🤞🏻 that we go back to better sleep eventually. I am excited for Christmas. It’s been magical to see Christmas through the eyes of my 5 year old this year. He’s at a great age and he’s still so sweet with DD.

Are you guys ready to sleep train? DS will be 6 months in a week, and I know I need to do it. I dread it though 😞

Just when I think we are moving forward with better sleep we get hit with more illness and we move backward. I feel like our sleep is so jacked up because we are just surviving the sick trying to get as much rest as we can.
Anyway, yes, we will likely do some sleep training closer to 6 months. We are still a week shy of 5 months right now.

T was an excellent sleeper until a couple weeks ago. At his 6 month visit we talked with his doctor about sleep training a bit and he gave us some material to read. I think we are going to try it once I read through everything. I know we lucked out for the first six months with how good he was but I desperately miss sleeping and we need to fix it.

Has anyone moved baby into a separate room yet?
A has been in her crib for about 2 months but the crib is in our room. I desperately want our own space back. I know the recommendation is 6 months of room sharing but I think we are close to taking the plunge of moving her crib in with DS. Only thing holding us back is the illnesses that keep setting us back.

No regrets.

I think we might try again this weekend and hopefully we can all get back to sleeping better.

Landed in the ER this morning because we were worried about her breathing. Poor girl has RSV. They are sending us home but it’s still scary stuff. I’m going to be watching her like a hawk.

I hope she gets well soon. I’m response to the separate room question, I was going to try tonight. I also need my own space back. I’ve been having him take naps in the crib for a week to get use to it.

Poor babe 🙁 I’m sorry you have that stress! We had one night of rough coughing and I just kept my hand on his belly all night to monitor his breathing. These babies scare us!

I hope your LO is feeling better, friendofdobby. It is such a scary year for RSV, the children's hospitals here are filled to capacity. My A19 baby participated in a clinical trial for an RSV vaccine and I have everything crossed he got the experimental treatment and not the placebo. We've had 2 sleepless nights due to him being sick with congestion and a cough though :-( it's so hard to see them sick.

Thank you all for the good thoughts. Alex is finally better. We were in ER with her Friday and then again Saturday but Sunday she turned the corner. Then the big kid got sick. He’s better as of today too - and no ER visit with him thankfully. We need to all stay well! I hate this time of year because of all the illness floating around. peachesncream that’s cool about the trial for the vaccine. I hope your LO starts feeling better. The ER docs over the weekend told us it was the worse RSV season they’ve ever seen.

When your babies turn 6 months, will you be getting them the flu shot? We have our 6 month appointment on Monday, and I know my doctor will ask. For some reason I’m worried about giving it to a little baby! But I’m also worried about the flu, so 🤷🏼♀️

robinanne if my ped recommends it and has it on hand, yes! I feel like I was able to get it at 6 months with my August 2014 baby. It saves the trouble of having to get two shots next season, too.
