Hello ladies! And Happy 18 months (ish) to our babies
My baby is at the day home all day today (well both of them are) and I’m cleaning my house in peace. I also go back to work on Monday so someone please hold me. I’m not ready to set an alarm and get dressed every day.

Eeek good luck leatherpants! Hope the transition back to work goes smoothly. We are doing well here. L is working on 6 teeth and I’m dealing with the world’s worst PP period. Ok probably not world’s worst, but my personal worst. The first 2 were nbd but this one super sucks for some reason.

I’m not ready for fall. We barely had a summer. Someone kept track and we had around 7 rainless days between June and August.
FFFC - I was feeling nostalgic and went and read old HDBD and birth story posts the other day. Where did the time go.

leatherpants i hope your transition goes smoothly! cleaning in peace sounds lovely clementine i hear you on the awful pp periods. i just had my second and the day i got it i puked the entire afternoon until it came. i also had tingling and muscle spasms so bad to the point i couldn’t move my hands. it was nuts. i had to call my mom to watch my girls. definitely going to talk to my dr about it. i feel like my hormones are so out of whack. we are headed to a cabin for a long weekend. the weather is supposed to chilly but they took away the chance of rain today and tomorrow so there is that. v is getting so verbal. she has started to tell me when she’s pooped and it’s kind of the cutest thing? she will start child care 3 times a week and i’m not sure i’m ready for it, but every time we drop her sister off she tries to walk back in the door so she might be ready. i’m not going to fool myself into thinking there won’t be bumps along the way but she really does love other kids at this point so i think it will be really good for the both of us. i also need all the extra time to get the house in order to put up for sale this spring.

Hope you’re having fun at the cabin polson! And good luck with V’s start at daycare. I feel you on the nostalgia whatsit. It’s crazy how different he is compared to this time last year. Army crawling vs climbing up into the windowsill. Just heard from the daycare director that L will be starting to transition to the toddler room this Monday. Developmentally he is so ready for that room, but I may be paper bag breathing at the thought of him napping on a cot. Like there is no way he’s going to stay on there and actually sleep. ETA: Those symptoms sound horrible polson. It’s crazy what hormones can do. I wouldn’t hesitate to call your provider to see if they can do something about it. Solidarity, sister.

leatherpants good luck with going back to work tomorrow. clementine L was transitioned from the crib to a cot at daycare right after he turned one and it went smoothly. You may be surprised with the transition to the cot. Lane regularly takes 2 hour naps on the cot at daycare now. whatsit I was looking through videos on my phone yesterday and was thinking how was L so tiny (comparatively) and just learning to crawl a year ago and now he is running all over the place, climbing, and getting into everything. The school year started for my family a few weeks ago. I can’t believe that we are already almost a month into the school year. DS1 is loving kindergarten and L is enjoying being in his new room at daycare. We are trying to enjoy as much time as we can outside because I know the crappy weather is not far away. I joined weight watchers and started exercising regularly in July. I am going to miss the regular outdoor runs and walks in winter. I still am trying to figure out what I am going to do when we are buried in snow.

E started daycare last week. Just 2 days/ week but it will eventually be 3. She loves it so far and didn't want to leave when I picked her up. My big kid started kindergarten too and there were a few hiccups with the bus but he seems to be doing well so far. I'm so proud of them both!
+1 to feeling nostalgic for the little baby days.
I hope everyone else transitioning to daycare and going back to work does well!

I never really learned how to eat “correctly” growing up so that’s part of why I started. Haven’t really been exercising, just watching points.

Also leatherpants good luck tomorrow! I’m assuming you did the 18month extended Mat leave? Thanks. I did and it was awesome (except for the money) although I’m not sure if I would’ve done it over two winters. We had two summers and it was perfect timing with L going to school etc. But now it’s over and I’m very far into my feelings tonight.

I also had a dream last night I was in labour and counting contractions. I feel like I need to remind myself daily I’m too old and poor to be having more babies.

Thank you! It really did. And the boys did well and I managed to get dinner cooked and then fed without any meltdowns so I’ll take it!

Who here has a minivan? What kind and what do you love/hate about it? We’re in the early stages of looking for one to replace my car soon-ish and we’re trying to figure out what we want/need.
I thought about posting this on GD but I’m sort of intimidated. And by sort of, I mean very. I always lurk but have never posted, so I feel like starting out with a post asking for recommendations might not be the best way to go.

If I had to get a minivan I’d get an odyssey because it can hold 8.

Guys I know I’ve been Mia but can I come back here and ask for prayers, positive thoughts and all the other good stuff? I’m in the hospital and have some type of leukemia. I can’t even fathom what this means for my babies. They know nothing yet bc we know so little, but I am scared.

I drive a Dodge Grand Caravan for work and hate it. It's underpowered and not very specious and the third row is basically useless if you need to actually seat people in it. The belts sit weird and there are limited options for car seats that work. We test drove a 2020 Kia Sedona last weekend and loved it. I see a lot around town because I think they're quite a bit cheaper than Honda and have a great warranty. I've been hoping to find one used but no one trades them in!
