For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated! 1. How old is your LO? 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3. Have you had to give up any foods while nursing due to allergies in your LO? 4. Does the thought of weaning make you sad or would it be a relief? Or somewhere in between? Pregnant & BFing/Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? GTKY: What is your favorite activity to do in your city/town?

1. How old is your LO? 13 months tomorrow 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 4-5 plus I'm still pumping 1x per day at work 3. Have you had to give up any foods while nursing due to allergies in your LO? Nope 4. Does the thought of weaning make you sad or would it be a relief? Or somewhere in between? I would be sad if he decided to wean this early.
GTKY: What is your favorite activity to do in your city/town? We all love the beach. DS2 is obsessed with crabs.

No. So far luckily no allergies *knock on wood* 4. Does the thought of weaning make you sad or would it be a relief? Or somewhere in between? I'd probably be a little sad, but honestly I'm surprised we made it this far.
GTKY: What is your favorite activity to do in your city/town? Go walking. We've got some amazing walking trails, and my city is super green.

1. DS is 22mo
2. 2x
3. We eliminated dairy for a while to see if it helped sinus/allergy stuff. No change, so back to cheese for me!
4. A little of both. I know it's in our near future, and I'm physically ready but not emotionally.
GTKY: We have an amazing farmers market by the river on Saturday mornings. We go every weekend and hang out all morning.

Hi! I'm lurking because DS turns one tomorrow and....well, the First Year check in has babies that are still reported in weeks. Also, no plans to stop breastfeeding anytime soon.
1. How old is your LO? 1 tomorrow! 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 6, or 3 nursing/3 pumping...reducing down to 1 pump by the end of this week, planning to keep at ~3-4 sessions on days we're together. 3. Have you had to give up any foods while nursing due to allergies in your LO? No, thank goodness. 4. Does the thought of weaning make you sad or would it be a relief? Or somewhere in between? I'm nowhere near ready yet, but I am already looking forward to the freedom. I nursed DD until about 23 months, and I'd like to do similar this time around.
GTKY: What is your favorite activity to do in your city/town? Walking to the cliffs overlooking the beach. I love to walk outside, and an ocean view just makes it perfect.

gingy, when I was weaning DD, we did it really slowly. I cut down a minute of nursing time weekly from her typical until the bedtime session was gone, and then did the same to the morning session. Around 22 months, I was at morning only, and letting her ask for it, and then she didn't (we were only doing a minute or so per side). It was good for both of us to go very slowly, I think.

Thanks for this. I'm sure we'll need to go slowly. He's very attached to my boobs still. We like to joke that if I didn't actively wean he'd nurse until college.

It helped me to make it on my terms (but also I was more than ready when we were done!)

1. 3.67 years 2. 1-3x 3. Yes. I’m still on a restricted diet- though I will likely stay at least dairy and gluten free even when she weans. For the first two and a half years I was dairy, beef, egg, gluten, rice, corn, oats, soy, legume (including lentils and green beans), and peanut free. I think I’m forgetting something lol. She is just dairy, gluten, soy, and peanut free now. 4. I think it would largely be a relief, but I will be a teensy bit sad. The other night she wanted to help me with something and I said if she did we wouldn’t have time for milky, and she said ok, Im never having milky again. And then she woke up in the middle of the night begging for milky. Lol but it’s the first time she’s ever said anything like that, so maybe it’s progress?
GTKY: I’m not sure where to start. Smithsonian, Kennedy Center, the mall, the history. I can tell you my least favorite thing- the traffic!
