Anyone get any good deals?
I bought a gift for my cousin's birthday party this weekend, but just because I didn't want to go to the store. 😜

Nothing crazy - some leggings I had been eyeing, a doorbell camera, and I keep looking for diapers but am not getting any of the super coupons I'm seeing when I google search for diaper deals.

We bought a lot. But the biggest thing was the ring doorbell and security system. We are going to replace our current system.

Carters has 55% off the entire site and free shipping if anyone needs something. DD1 wanted matching shirts for her and DD2 so I bought 2 sets for them

I got DD the Fisher Price Smart Cycle bike for Christmas. I paid $60ish and it's normally $100ish. That'll be her big gift and hopefully both kids use it for a while.
Not on Prime, but I got a new swimsuit from Target. Also got an entertainment center for a really good price for the new house.

I also got the ring doorbell with echo dot for $63. I had a $10 credit for using the whole foods app. I was hoping for better deals on convertible car seats.

I did find Evenflo car seats on sale at Target. Obviously one of the more affordable brands, but they got good reviews and I was able to get 3 car seats for $211 using a $10 gift card I had. We have Chicco seats for J and I feel a little bad, but we can't spend that much money this time. It would be closer to $900 for 3 of those seats.

H's favorite work shoes dropped 60% last night - I bought him one pair, but if they're still cheap today I might get another.

Maybe too late now, but if J is forward facing, you can pass down his seats and get him new combination seats (forward facing only). The right combination seat could be the last seat he needs. At most you may need a cheap $10-$20 booster down the line.
As long as you didn't get the Evenflo Tribute, it should suit your needs just fine. It passes all the same safety tests as the Chiccos, but has fewer bells and whistles. The issues with the Tribute is low weight and height limits.
eta: I see the Evenflo Triumph also only rear faces to 37 inches so that's something to consider if that's the seat you got. That wouldn't get my kids to 2.5 yo.

I got the Sonus. Both kids are smallish so I should be able to use the convertible eats for a long time.

I got a fire stick, 2 echo dots, a set of 4 smart bulbs, a smart plug, and a 23andme kit. 2 8 packs of onesies, a set of hooks for ds1s room, lysol wipes, and dishwasher packs.
I think everything I bought was half off or close to it. I also had $18 in rewards that I used.

Out of curiosity, what will you use your smart plug for? I recently got one for my flatiron because it doesn't have auto shutoff and I am always leaving it on. I have it programed to turn off every weekday at 7:40 just in case I leave it on. Just wondering what other people use them for.

We have lots of "smart" things in our house - a light bulb in a place where there's otherwise no switch for that light, for example. We also plug in our Christmas lights to them and can turn them on and off remotely - it's all H's doing, that's the sort of thing he likes to play with.

I don't know why. I bought him a sound bar for our tv and took it upon myself to enable Alexa The kids are enjoying it.
I guess he'd like a smart garage door opener but that's a bit more of an investment than a few new light bulbs or plugs.

I'm not sure yet. It came in a bundle with one of the echo dots. I'm thinking maybe the ac unit in my room so I can turn it on/off since I tend to forget about it.

My mom and stepdad are against the smart stuff but I'm just 🤷♀️ about it. My phone already spies on me, why not simplify my life with some other devices too?

We have so many smart plugs in our house. Mainly for the Christmas lights. I have the garland with lights in the banisters so H put all of them on a plug. Also the Christmas trees. The one we use everyday is the box fan we have in our bedroom window. If I am already in bed, I can use my phone to turn it in. Then H has it programmed to turn off at 8 in case he forgets.

ohreally H wanted the garage door one so I bought it for him for Christmas. It's nice because he can make sure that the door is down. And one time, he could open it form work for MIL to get into our house to get something out of the fridge

I bought a Kindle Fire 8 Kids Edition for DS. I like that I can see his usage from my phone and it's a pretty decent tablet. You can also set usage limits but we're pretty good about limiting use already. They had a good deal on them. The only other thing I got was a large box of crayons for DS as his need to be replaced.
