Has anyone had experience with Hand, foot, mouth? I think J might have it. He’s had a fever and today he’s developed spots around his mouth, arms, and a few on his palms. I haven’t seen any on his feet though. He has his 16 month appointment on Tuesday, but I might call tomorrow to see if we can get seen.

Oh no, poor J! First tubes and then this. No HFM for us, but L did have a weird virus about 2 weeks ago. Started with a fever and similar-looking rash on his arms, legs, and torso Tuesday night that was mostly gone by Thursday, but then vomited several times Thursday. Felt crappy the rest of the weekend, but the fever was gone by Saturday. Hope whatever J has goes away soon 🤞🏼

Oh no! DS2 had HFM in January, my first week back at work in fact (of course!). His didn’t look like that though. He had a little bump near his lips, like a pimple with no head. Then it turned into a tiny popped blister. He had a couple of tiny blisters on his hand and sores in his mouth. Nothing on his feet or bum. He had a low fever the day before the first little blister. It lasted a week from first spot to clearance to return to daycare.

Oh the doctor gave us a good antibacterial ointment to help the sores, was great as he was chewing on his hands even more than usual.

Hope he feels better soon. Don't stress about getting him in, since its a virus and there isn't much you can do. He may not want to eat if he has sores in his mouth, so try popsicles, frozen yogurt tubes, etc and push fluids/pedialyte to get some calories in him if that's the case. The fever shouldn't last more than a day or two and the sores clear up fairly quickly.
When DS got it, it was fast moving and NBD mostly. When I got it, I felt like death for about 12 hours and then was fine.

he should feel better in a day or 2 but the spots may linger for awhile. they can pretty much show up anywhere - diaper area is pretty common. hopefully it moves quickly for you! dd1 has had it 2x - once very mild and not so mild. just a heads up - if it’s a bad case he could lose some finger/toenails. i think i had it, but never got the sores - just the worst sore throat of my life.
