MH got C from DC this evening and he felt really hot. Almost 102 fever 😭. He didn't want his dinner which is sad to me. He always wants food. I pray it's not a stomach thing. We gave him motrin and put him to bed. Poor little guy. Hopefully he'll feel better in the morning after a good nights rest.

I got a job offer! It is for a child life specialist at a center just for kids with medical needs. I went last week to spend some time with the other therapists and with some kids on the floor. I was mainly in the "toddler room". Some of the kids were preemies (born at 23 and 24 weeks), another boy was born addicted to drugs. Another little girl recently had her colostomy bag removed. I asked for a few days to think about it. The pay is better then what I was making before. I wanted benefits because the ones at H's company are getting more expensive. But the weekly payment seems high so I think we will stay on his. And I was hoping to get a call from our local school district which is where I interviewed first. The money would be about $15,000 less, but the time off with my kids and benefits would be great. Even though this may not be your first choice I think if you do accept the position they would be so lucky to have you. The impact that you can have in the lives of these children would be so rewarding.

C has all of a sudden over the last week learned this crawl/scoot thing and as of today he is officially all over the place!! We are going to be frantically babyproofing and moving a few things around. It's a hilarious butt scoot but he uses his right leg to propel himself forward and his arms of course. And he's so fast. This is exactly how dd started crawling. Now she figured out the ‘normal’ crawling but still prefers her gimpy crawl (as we call it). But as of today she is now pulling herself up and standing. Man oh man!

Ugh one of us had to hold Charlie from 3.45 on last night-I have no idea why. He was completely fine-just wide open playing yesterday-and woke up fine this morning. No fever but I did finally give him ibuprofen after an hour of fighting him last night.
That is probably making my grumpy mood worse. Yesterday played out just like I thought it would. H let me sleep in, then immediately went fishing. He was basically off parenting duty all day until bath time last night. DD is easy and was entertained by cousins and aunts, but I was with Charlie all day long. I'm not just going to ask people to take him, especially if they are helping watch DD.
This is not a great place for Charlie. We sat inside the small cabin most of the day because outside just isn't conducive to a baby. There is a large wood deck by the water, but he'll get splinters if I set him down. He won't stay on a blanket. He throws a fit in his stroller because he is strapped down.
H is not a selfish person, but when it comes to things like this, he can be. I get this is his most favorite place in the world ever and he only gets to come every few years, but damn if I would ever get 1 whole day, much less a week to do whatever I please all the day long. For instance, when we are at the beach, he will stay in while Charlie naps, but I still have DD. I'm not complaining because when you have kids that's life. But I just can't imagine checking out all day and being like my family will help you!
The other part of this is that all of his siblings are here, and we all get together only a few times a year. His brother, who is his fav, just moved several more hours away. He's lucky and has an awesome family, so he genuinely loves spending time with them. But we had kids last and there is at least a 5+ year age difference so all of their kids are much more independent.
In his mind, I have help-which I technically do-but I just can't see myself asking for someone to watch my kids. I dunno I can't tell if I'm being whiny because hanging out for a week in a place like this is not my cup of tea or if my frustrations are legit. I haven't said anything to H yet, but he has read the frustration on my face a few times (and asked how to help or taken the kids outside for a few minutes). Blah sorry for the long post. I needed to vent.

doublestuf, being there for a week would make me frustrated too. A few days, sure, I can grit and bear but a week? Nope. I don't like asking other people for help watching my kids, but if one person is watching your DD, can someone else watch the baby? That's what I had to do when we visited my MIL for a week. H would be off, doing whatever and I'd just give the baby to someone and be like, I'm going to go take a shower and then take the longest shower in the history of showers just for alone time. I hope you get a break soon <3

Speaking of ditching nursing bras. I've completely weaned and I need new bras. My boobs have grown so much that my old bras don't fit. Any recommendations for good bras? I have a pretty big chest (DDD) so I'd need something that can provide a lot of support. I've actually thought about a breast reduction but that won't be anytime soon. I would highly recommend the site booborbust.com to measure yourself and get a bra based on that. Victoria Secret measures me at 38DDD and BOB says I'm a 30J. Which seems like a ridiculous size, but they fit so much better once I swoop and scoop everything in to the cup, less back pain, and my boobs look amazing in it lol. That being said, my favorite bra is the Panache Envy. I'm also thinking of a breast reduction in a few years.

doublestuf I totally get it. I have a hard time asking for that too. I usually don't have to because when we're with family they are constantly asking to take him. Maybe he can ask a family member in the morning before he leaves if they would the baby for a while. If he's closer with someone and knows they might want some baby time? Or ask him to come back from fishing an hour or two early one day. I would be frustrated too.

Man oh man! DD2 uses her head to propel herself forward lol. Her weight and length are both in the 30th ish percentile, but her giant bobble head is 98th, so she kinda throws her head forwards and uses that momentum to move. It's hilarious. I walked into her room this morning and she was standing in her crib and looking so proud of herself.

And he had reaction to the antibiotic so back to urgent care. If you need me, I'll be rocking in the corner after not sleeping for days.

Dd slept 8pm - 9:30am with one wake up at 5:30am to nurse. Now she has been at nap from about 1-4:30 and is still asleep.
She is almost 11 months old and does this every weekend.
During the week she sleeps 8pm-7am and I wake her at 5:30am to nurse. She naps an average of 1-2 hours total at daycare.
Is it possible that she could be sleeping too much? Or am I crazy? I can contact the doctor but it seems like I just have the opposite problem other parents have.

kam3100 maybe an iron check? But maybe she's just a baby who needs or wants lots of sleep. And I'm very jealous lol.

I'm sure you have been doing it to keep up your supply but now that she's 11months maybe you don't need to. She might be trying to make up on lost sleep. DD sleeps 10-11hrs at night and her two naps total 3-4 hrs.

Also kam3100 if DD has a day where she for some reason has a short or no nap she always makes up her sleep the next day.

My first never slept so it’s so weird and I am out of my depth.

I don't think that's too much sleep but my DS and DD both had very similar sleeping habits so I'm used to that much sleep. DS to this day still takes a 2-3 hr nap on most days and he's 4.

kam3100 we are on the same type of schedule. She is usually asleep by 9 at night, then will sleep to 8-9:15ish. I also wake her up at 5:15ish to eat. Sometimes she is awake when I go into her room. But she always goes back to sleep. Then naps are 1.5-2.5 hours. Usually around 11 and 4. The later schedule works for us because of DHs work schedule

I'm not looking forward to cleaning the floors all the time 😭😭😭. We got a roomba for exactly this reason. I know it's time to run it when I pick up a baby covered in dog hair

kam3100, I would just thank your lucky stars and keep on keeping on. DD was like that as a baby, and it was lovely. She is a couple weeks shy of 5, and still naps most days - she just needs more sleep than other people (as do I!)

doublestuf I just want you to know you're not alone in your feelings of frustration while traveling as a family. I face the same obstacles. My husband and my dad will go off golfing every day while I'm left on kid duty. I don't really have any advice other than try to take time for yourself some other time to make up for it. I also find early toddlerhood the most difficult time for traveling so I hope future trips aren't so stressful and you get to fully enjoy them like everyone else!
