I'm leaving work early this afternoon for a dentist appointment and then I'm taking M to see Lion King tonight with my inlaws. She's so excited!

What's up ladies?!
Just working. Came in to the office today instead of tomorrow bc my manager had scheduled us for a team meeting (keep in mind he and another account mgr work in a city about hour away, and my other colleague works in Long Island and needs to take a ferry over).. well he called and cancelled. Which is fine but I had asked my mom to switch her work days for it, oh well.
So on a related note, H and my mom are seriously convincing me that it might be time to try to go off on my own as an advisor. So scary but if I am going to give up my job anyway bc they ask me to be in the office FT what do I really have to lose at that point.
I can replace my salary with 200 employees - that can be 10 groups of 20 employees, 20 groups of 10 employees, one 200 life group, or whatever combination.
It doesn't seem impossible but it's damn scary. H and I are working on a name, website, etc the past few nights.
Also I might've missed something but where is Sophiegrace, I hope all is ok???

Holy crap kleigh, like you would have to hire 200 people? I have NO IDEA what that means in your work world, but sounds crazy! Get on it gurl! Be that crazy entrepreneur and live your life! I have also been wondering where sophiegrace is. AFM, I just read a People article about Mary Kay Letourneau separating from her husband Vili. I am no less scandalized by their relationship than I was 20 years ago. It still disgusts and appalls me that she started having an affair with her 12 yo student when she was 34 and was married with 4 young kids at home. I mean really, can any of you fathom starting an affair with a 12 yo?!?!

Hi! I've been absent. The client is onsite so work is super busy and crazy. I've had to make sure I look good too, hair, makeup, heels etc. it's exhausting! I found out this morning that I'm not even going to see them today! I feel like I wasted this dress lol.
Now that we have more mobile babies, what is everyone's thoughts on keeping them contained? Play pen? Gate off certain areas? Or just baby proof and give free reign?
Personally, my house is very open concept and tile. There is no way for me to gate off an area so I bought a giant play pen. It takes up my entire living room and is ugly. I'm telling myself it's temporary.

Definitely baby proof now, just in case. I know a lot of people use blow up pools to keep them contained in one area. Some kids don't like play pens so you'll just have to try it out and see what happens. I always just let M go whereever. I mean, it's not like she was on her own very often. Only if I needed to use the restroom or change clothes.

cookswithwine I always let B go wherever and am doing the same with J. I have her bouncer, crib and highchair as baby containment areas in case I need to do something where i cant see her. She normally just follows me around and gets into whatever, her new fav is the tupperware cupboard while I'm cooking or doing dishes. We have a bi level home, so 3 sets of stairs and we've never put up a baby gate and i dont plan to with J either.

cookswithwine We are talking about a baby yard, like the ugly red/blue/green gate thing that's an octagon but haven't bought it yet. We also have an open concept and our stairs going to the basement are currently gated off (but not stairs going up bc they don't venture to that area yet). And I currently just wrangle them when they get off the carpet. It's gdamn exhausting. Even the play yard I have doubts about bc the biggest risk with them is each other. It's like setting them up in the UFC octagon and letting the strongest man win. The biggest hazard we have is that of each other - the accidental hitting with toys, pinching bc squeeeeee my sibling is so cute mommy, cuts from nails since I'm cutting twice a week and it's not enough, etc. hangry I prob didn't explain well lol. No I don't need to have200 employees, I would be a sole prop. I am a consultant/advisor of employee benefits. My clients are Employers who offer insurance benefits to their employees (so say a manufacturing firm, an attorneys office, a doctor practice, an advertising agency)... I advise the Employer on what benefit plans they should offer to their employees, get them the best rates, help them put these plans in place wth the insurance company, help them when claims get ugly, renew the health/dental/life/disability plans each year etc. So I need like 10 clients (assuming each client/employer has 20 employees)... or I need 20 clients (if each client has 10 employees).. or I need just one kick ass client that has 200 employees. There is very little involved in start up, basically the fact that I'm licensed (and will be appointed with insurance carriers) allows me to broker/advise clients as I take them on. And for a client to sign with me all that is involved is a one paragraph letter saying "we appoint XYZ as broker, please rescind our prior broker" sent to the carrier and then I start getting paid.

tgrimes Is it broadway Lion king or movie? I loved the broadway show. I want to see it again. That is exciting kleigh! I hope you're able to make it work! hangry Absolutely not. I don't see how an adult can be attracted to a young boy like that. Just so so wrong on so many levels. cookswithwine I guess I'm lucky that C doesn't seem to be in a hurry to be mobile so I haven't put much thought into it. I was thinking of buying one of those super fancy playpens that BBB had recently. I have such a limited area that I could set it up and the shape worked. I'll definitely be baby proofing as well. I'm more worried about my moms house. It's glass decor EVERYWHERE.

Also, free reign of the house here. I had blocked off my kitchen with DS for a few months when he was little. But he figured out how to get around it and also started climbing the gate that blocked the bottom of the stairs. Now its impossible to block off with dd. So I just watch her and make sure it's as baby proofed as possible.

Not much going on here! Bird hit house and I had to keep the girl dogs away from it! Are dogs like cats? In that the girls are the hunters and the boys are just lazy? Tanner didn't car at all but the girls circled it like they didn't just eat less than 4 hours ago.
L and I have our first evening water discovery class which will be interesting! (In the summer, they only offer one class during the week) I'm hoping to start bedtime routine as soon as we get home. Figuring that we don't get out of the pool till 5:45pm I'm just going to change out of wet clothes and come straight home via Panera lol. It's 30 minutes away, so shower/bath, and usually he's exhausted after class that maybe he'll sleep after eating. Fingers crossed!!

So I stopped following the re-name the forum thread. Was it decided to leave it as a place to meet? I don't believe so. Everyone submitted new names and the admins were supposed to pick. I think freeforums was blocked at work and we were going to switch to proboards. Admins wanted to do it all at once, change name & switch to proboards, but too many people were complaining.

That makes much more sense kleigh and totally do-able!! I imagine you can't proposition any of your current clients though? No not for two years, I have a non compete. BUT nothing stopping them from coming to me if they wanted. I also kept a large client in my back pocket all these years. I used to work for a large non profit in HR and am friends with the HR director. Their current broker is one that hired me last year but I got pregnant and turned it down days before I was to start bc I needed FMLA here. So my colleague has been hounding me to "get us in" to this company but I kept putting it off hoping this day would come when I approach her for myself. That's about 300 lives so that'd be my win BUT cart before horse.

I always assumed it was because she's a Golden Retriever and was bred to be attracted to birds.

Hi. Just catching up!
I met up with a friend and her daughters at this trampoline park near my house this morning. It was fun and it tired B out. I just threw some lunch at him and put him down for a nap. I'm hoping J will nap but I just nursed him and he's smiling at me so I don't think that's likely.
J has been biting during nursing. What do we do to make that stop? Granted the kid only has 2 teeth but it hurts and he will not stop. B never bit so this is new to me.

Do you end the nursing session then or just put him back on the boob after telling him no? I keep going because it usually happens early on. If it doesn't mess up your schedule too much, I'd end the nursing session when he bites. You can resume 15-20 in later. That way he equated biting to no more booby milk.
