Hello ladies!
It’s been slooow here eh? But I’m no help, it’s been ages.
We have officially entered difficult behavior now. B bit his brother this morning and left marks. So that was traumatic for everyone. And he has begun screaming for everything so I can’t wait for him to talk. Also he’s still not walking so I feel like parent of the year over here.
Anyhow. What’s new with you?

difficult behavior indeed! v is throwing elbows left and right whenever anyone is up in her business😬 these second kids are feisty. i thought we had dropped morning nap this month, but think she was just working on teeth and walking and we are back to 2 this week. it kind of puts a damper on summertime activities, but it’s nice when dd1 is at school. she now has 6 teeth and i would say she is now officially walking as of sunday and she is really into climbing everything.

leatherpants, L isn't walking either (he is 15 months today), so don't feel too bad. DS1 didn't walk until 1 week after he hit 15 months. Some babies just aren't motivated to walk. L keeps getting holes in his pants from crawling all over the ground outside. I am excited for short season, but if he doesn't start walking he is going to have lovely scratched up knees and legs. L becomes a fussy mess almost every evening. He is super clingy to me and DH unless we are outside. His happy place is outside...eating dirt, rocks, and grass. When we get home from daycare and bring our stuff inside he screams because he wants to be outside. DS1 loves L, but he gets so annoyed by L taking his toys and getting in the way. When I was in nursery he hit at a couple of the other children when they took his toys, so we have some behaviors too. Sleep was a little off for awhile probably due to his canine/cuspid teeth coming in. He is back to sleeping and napping good again. L still hasn't got his 12 month vaccinations due to him being sick every time we've had the appointment scheduled. He has an appointment tomorrow so hopefully he stays healthy the next 24 hours. Monday is my last day of work for the school year. I am so excited for my 2 months off. I am going to be done with all my work today, so I am only working a couple hours tomorrow and probably will take a personal day Friday. Monday will be a boring day.

O will be 14 months next week and his language is just exploding these days! “Thank you”, and trying to say “Charlotte” (DD’s name) are current faves. He’s walking and climbing (my first was so not a climber😅) and screams when he get impatient about waiting for food. He’s also known to headbutt you if he feels like you aren’t listening/giving him what he wants🙄 feisty second children is right!

Ahh yes, challenging behaviours here too. E is into head butting also, but only after she hits someone and I tell her not to 😂 Also climbing, screaming, putting everything in her mouth.
And! She doesn't want to be carried anywhere and will not hold my hand. She's not a huge stroller fan either but SO is firmly against leashing children. But, I might get one anyway.

leatherpants - Bs birthday twin miss A is not walking either. She just has no interest in it. Her big brother didn’t take his first steps until 14.5 months and then didn’t walk again for another month or so. I was at a baby shower and a nurse there saw A w-sitting and commented, saying a couple nurses have told her that babies who sit like that tend to walk later. She didn’t know whether it was the muscles or what... reading up on it, it’s hard to know whether one causes the other or vice versa or if there’s any truth at all but it was interesting to hear.

Oh man you guys have made me feel better. It’s been a rough couple of days here and I have been feeling like every baby in the world is walking and progressing better and mine is just screaming at me all day every day. That is really interesting whatsit! Let me know if you find a good link about it. B is so content to crawl - and he’s fast - but man kid. Stop destroying your pants

He would pick one, yell “BERRY!”, then throw it in the bucket. He didn’t try to eat a single one, which seriously surprised me since he tries to eat every other god forsaken object he comes across. We were at dinner last night with friends and the kid next to him had crumbs on his face and L tried to grab a crumb FROM HIS FACE and eat it. 🤦🏼♀️

+1 to the clingy baby. I have one too and it is rough. Sometimes he’s fine and will play on his own, but lately there have been a lot of times where he isn’t happy unless I’m holding him.
He is also becoming a very opinionated and irrational toddler. Pretty typical I guess, but dang just be logical kid! You aren’t going to be able to climb up the slide in rain boots that are 4 sizes too big and you can’t pick up the 30 lb rock in the backyard.

Hi ladies! Thanks leatherpants for starting a conversation. J is starting to bite, but he doesn’t do it when he’s mad so other than telling him no and redirecting I’m not sure how to stop it. I also had to make an appointment with an ENT for him. I think we might be looking at tubes. He’s currently on ear infection number 3 in two months.

clementine O seems to have a new “witching hour” aka from 4pm until bedtime. DNW to be put down and heaven forbid I try to make dinner! I’ve taken to feeding him leftovers and cooking everyone else dinner after he’s in bed. Thankfully he’s in bed by 6:30😅

We get home around 5 and he’s usually so hungry, so it’s leftovers for him while I start dinner, his bedtime at 6:30, then H and I eat dinner in peace. ETA: no dog here. My brother has a dog and and he now sits by L at most meals when we’re together. L hasn’t realized that he eats the food he drops, although it’s not like he needs any outside motivation to throw his food. Does that all on his own.

I’m sorry, ear infections are so rough. Tubes helped L tremendously, so if J ends up getting them, hopefully all the infections will GTFO.

N is 14 months and not walking. But I think she's close. She wants to walk everywhere holding my hands now, and she's purposely letting go of my hands to practice standing on her own.
She's had an explosion of language recently. I can't even count how many words she has at this point. And she's very opinionated about what she wants or doesn't want. I cut her some strawberries after dinner tonight and she was shaking her head. Then she looked at me and said, "cheeee" for "cheese". She also like to yell shoes! Shoes! and bang on the door with them because she wants to go out. She LOVES the stroller and if she sees it she goes crazy until you put her in it.
No hitting or biting here yet, but her older brother is starting to be mean to her sometimes and it's breaking my heart. I almost wish she'd start defending herself lol.
We've successfully dropped to one afternoon nap at around 12:30pm. There's the odd day where she'll snooze for 15 minutes in the car in the morning, so we do a shorter nap at 2pm on those days. But she can go quite happily without a nap until after lunch, which puts bedtime at around 7pm every night. I'm loving the new flexibility.

L is getting feisty too, hehe. She has mastered shaking her head no and nodding yes, which makes it fun to guess why she's freaking out. Do you want up? Down? Do you want food? Do you want Dada? Do you want to go night night? until we get it right. If I don't guess quickly enough, she flops onto the floor on her stomach and kicks her feet LOL. Fun game.
I'm loving her words, which are definitely exploding. Mama, Dada, Andy, up, cup, uh oh, toooo (toothbrush), Ohs (cheerios), "lala" (her daycare teacher's name is Larissa).
Her favorite things right now are her water table, her swing, going to bed, and as always, her brother. Who she bit in the face last week. Send wine.

We get home from daycare and he just wants to be held and fusses most of the evening...unless we are outside. If we are outside there is little you can do wrong, but that makes it difficult to get anything done, so I have to deal with the fuss until bedtime.

Yes woodenshoes. Outside solves all his problems. He gets his shoes and goes to the door and says “opah” until we go outside. I love being outside too but, like you said, I can’t get anything done when we’re out there for forever.

Hi! Also not walking over here! He takes some steps but then says nah and crawls. My first didn’t walk until 20 months because he was too busy talking my ear off. This baby is a bit the same. So much talking, so many words. And his receptive language blows me away.
I had hernia surgery two weeks ago and still can’t lift anything which sucks because the baby is freezing me out and all about daddy since he is doing the bedtime and carrying etc. it kinda breaks my heart even though I know it’s great for him to be all about his dad.
He has the hugest personality and is grumpy and stubborn and hilarious and cheeky.

H is painting our kitchen cabinets white and I loooove it, but it’s really highlighting how much I hate our countertops😬 I think I need to do a little research in the cost to replace them vs waiting until we’re financially ready to demo the entire kitchen. I wish I could just win the lottery😅
