Morning. At work. Dealing with the same crap as always.
H is on his way home from his trip now. C spent the night at my parents so I didn't have to worry about drop off today. I still got to work later than usual somehow. I'll blame the dog.
Taking tomorrow off so I can go to my brothers graduation ceremony from med school.

We had speech this morning, she’s impressed with all his new words! Her notes are mostly his new words and they covered a whole page!
Otherwise, DH is heading to NYC to pick up my brother! I’m excited and nervous about this visit! Not nervous per se, we still have stuff to do and mostly he can tag along but he’s mentally 12 so I couldn’t leave him alone with L too long.

Pretty standard day for me today. Had a work out this morning. Continuing with potty training this afternoon. I'm conflicted. H is doing really well in the sense that he's peeing on the toilet 99% of the time. He's no longer doing a pile of little pees every few minutes but controlling it more and just peeing every 2ish hours. He's also staying dry over night. All fantastic things! But. He's only going to the toilet if I tell him to. He's not telling me that he needs to go. If he does tell me it's only when it's too late and he's already starting to dribble. He's also crying over the idea of pooping in the toilet. He did it once and since then if he needs to poop he will cry that it's too hard and hold it in until I put a diaper on him (before bed or before going in the car) and then immediately poop. So is he not actually ready? Am I actually just training myself lol.

Can I just say how much I love summer traffic. I left for work super late and still got to work in 25 mins (vs the normal 1 hour). danib sorry for the #2 potty training troubles. I can commiserate. My ped told me to increase fruits/veggies to make sure it’s easy to go. Also sit him on the toilet for as long as possible during times he would normally go. I had to let him watch the Elmo potty song on my phone 100x to get him to sit there.

If he's peeing in the potty 99% of the time, I'd say he's ready. i would not go back to diapers!

Hi guys. We have a few exciting things happening there next week or so. We have development clinic Thursday. I'm super excited to see what they say. Friday we are going to the school M will be attending next year and meeting his teacher. Then next Monday we will be meeting to discuss communication devices and hopefully start a trial on a device. M was sick all last week and is still just a crank. He also just is super frustrated that we don't understand him. His therapists think from a receptive language/intelligence standpoint he is pretty close to age level and the gap between that and what he can say is HUGE. As for me I have one small project but otherwise I have a relaxing week. No more fundraising and no more baby shower!!!

My coworker loves to ask me for my advice on stuff that I've never done before. It drives me crazy. Just now she asked if I ever had to do this new process for a new program. No.. I haven't had a new program in years so if it's a new process then I haven't done it. But then she asks "what do you think?". I don't freaking know. If that's the new process then just do it and figure it out. Or ask someone who has gone through it. Leave me alone people.

Hiiii. Today has been nothing special. B had school and J and I ran some errands so I could get some wrapping paper and a book for a baby shower this weekend. The boys took naps and I did a whole bunch of healthy meal prep for the week. It’s sunny but a little chilly out so I’m trying to decide what to do with these kids now.

They are devices where he would push a button and it would talk for him. They are really really expensive but it's the company that Medicaid contracts with. This is the company www.talktometechnologies.com/Other options are iPad programs which are around $250 but they aren't covered by insurance. Prologue2go is one option.

I’m thinking about getting a bigger car. The infant seat will have to rear face behind the passenger seat. This requires the passenger seat to be all the way forward meaning a normal sized adult will have their knees on the dash which is not safe. So basically with both kids in the car, only the driver will be able to be in the car for the 2 rear facing years. The cons of getting a new car is I only have 2 years left before my car is paid off so I would be starting over again. Ugh.

I'm able to sit in the passenger seat (in front of RF seat) in both DH's and my car's. DH can't fit there, but I can and it's not too bad.

danib it’s a 2016 Mazda CX-5 Ohh then I'd totally try it out (unless you WANT a new car lol). I have a Toyota Corolla and DH has a Kia Forte. There's more room in my Corolla than in DH's Kia, but it's definitely manageable. And bonus, since DH doesn't fit in the passenger seat he always has to be DD.

danib it’s a 2016 Mazda CX-5 Hi. You were me a few years ago. It was fine with just B but when I had J I had to upgrade. I really loved the car but needed the space because my H is 6’4 and wouldn’t be able to sit in the car at all. When we just had B he always had to drive because he couldn’t fit in the passenger side with a RF car seat behind it so having two RF car seats would just not work in that car.

We had our appt with the infectious disease doctor this morning. She sat in the room with us about an hour going over everything we've done and been through. Couldn't do any labs today since he's still on antibiotics, which I assumed would be the case. I'll probably go back Monday to do blood work and then we need to schedule allergy testing and then a sweat test for cystic fibrosis. She also wants to do an advanced hearing test that he'd need to be sedated for so she said we could wait until he needs tubes again and do it at the same time.
She asked me to give her a bit of time to run all these tests and for her to speak to the immunologist, ENT and pediatrician. Apparently my pedi used to intern for her, so that's convenient.
She does think his total immunoglobulin level is low, even though the immunologist told me it was normal for his age. She pulled up a chart for me to look at with her and it's definitely low. She also thought the weekly antibiotic was odd. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can rule some things out and have a better idea of what is going on.
