We are going to Dollywood this weekend and Asheville. Has anyone been to Dollywood? I read that I can't ride any rides including the baby rides or the train since I'm pregnant and I'm wondering how strict they really are on the train. We are staying at the on site resort and they have a nice pool so I need to find my old maternity bathing suit and make sure it fits before we leave!

D graduates from preschool Friday night. We have soccer on Saturday morning. I'd love to do a daytrip to the beach but not sure if it'd be too crowded to enjoy ourselves. We may need to spend some time at our land but I'm not sure.

My DS turns 5 this weekend! We’re having some friends over to celebrate, and then I really need to buckle down and pack for our upcoming road trip next week. Maybe we’ll spend Memorial Day in the in-laws pool.

Week/fruit: 8+2 and Creature is the size of a pygmy sea horse lol. EDD is 12/30 FTM, etc: STM Appointments: Today! I had an ultrasound and my first appointment with the new OB this morning. They measured 7+6 with a FHR of 165 bpm Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Will find out via NIPT Milestones: I have a new OB! Symptoms: Nausea and (thankfully infrequent) vomiting, irritability, food aversions, occasional RLP Rants: I drink a lot of seltzer water. A lot. I didn't come to work until after the appointments this morning and I forgot to bring any extra with me. I got a Dr. Pepper to go with my lunch and it's weird; I haven't had any soda since I switched to seltzer. Raves: My new OB's office is amazing. It all felt more personal. I was able to talk with the nurse and doctor both about my anxiety and panic disorders; they gave me a list of psychologists who specialize in perinatal anxiety and the doctor said she would make a personal call to get me in with someone sooner than later. GTKY: Do you have any fun plans for the upcoming holiday weekend? I'm expecting a fairly low key weekend for myself. Mh and I have concert tickets for Saturday and M will spend the night with my in laws; they live about four hours from us so this means meeting them halfway for breakfast Saturday morning and spending the rest of the day alone with my husband. Sunday morning Mh will drive to their house for a cookout and to collect M while I stay home allllll by myself. Depending on the weather Monday, maybe we'll set up the baby pool and invite some neighbors over. Maybe not.

You know, sometimes it's the littlest things that can help put a person at ease. Like giving her privacy to undress for a transvaginal ultrasound... Last week the radiology tech walked Mh and I into a tiny room and asked me to undress while she waited. I'm sure I could have asked her to step out but I was sort of shocked. Today the moment of privacy came standard. I meant to mention that last week but like, lol, you wouldn't think this is some sort of next-level care standard.

notblanche I thought that was standard too. How awkward. When I was in college I would go to the on campus health center for my annual exam and one year I got an OB that stayed in the room with the nurse while I dressed and undressed. It made me super uncomfortable so I never went there again.

notblanche I’m so glad you had a good appointment and experience with the new OB! And I’m surprised your old practice had someone in the room while you changed- not standard at all.

Got to hear the heartbeat again at my appointment this morning, and ended up doing impromptu NIPT testing due to the results of the NT screen bloodwork from last week. The NT screen was negative and the measurements were good, but because of my age-related risk factor they wanted to do the NIPT to double check.
I’m really not worried, because the same “age-related risk factor” thing happened when I was pregnant with DD and everything was fine. And a perk is finding out if it’s a boy or girl!

I don't know for sure, my ob was the one who ordered it since I'm "old", lol. I do know it wasn't cheap, though my insurance covers it thankfully. Before the lab would do the draw I had to agree that I'd pay them the $2700 if my insurance denied the charge (they won't, thanks to me being over 35).
