Heyyyyy! Nothing too crazy here. Ds went and got a haircut with his Grandpop. It’s a tad shorter than he normally gets and it makes him look so old 😭 Dd is a pistol. I’m enjoying my one on one time with her when ds is in preschool.
We’re going to a cute little play place with some friends this morning. It’s so cold out and the kids have so much energy so that will be nice.

Hi guys! Nothing too exciting here either. Gearing up for potty training M this weekend and dreading it. We had success following Oh Crap with DS at 27 months so we’ll see how it goes the second time. H is out of town this week which makes for hectic evenings and mornings.
I’m loving this age with the kids though! It’s amazing how well they’ll play together and without me for stretches of time. Some days it almost seems easy (don’t remind me that this is what I’m giving up when I’m in the throes of potty training). I’m itching for a third like crazy but H hasn’t budged.

Lakes I find that haircuts make my DS look younger so I’m religious about taking him every 8 weeks. I love seeing some of his little baby face re-emerge! His hair exhausts me though - he just got head lice for the SECOND TIME this school year! This time we have no clue where it came from as no one at school had it (unlike last time). We got rid of it quickly with help from the pros (goodbye money) but the cleaning and worry is exhausting!

Oh no to everything carrots. Lice a second time?! I’d be burning everything down. Potty training now?! I’m...still not pushing potty training. Sighs. But yes to the playing together! It’s so glorious and adorable.

E’s hair is so long she needs it cut. My friend recommended a good kids place I just need to make an appointment.
Emi does well with the potty at home not so much as school perhaps because the vet potty is different. Not sure why. They have the small porcelain one and we have a small potty that looks like a full size toilet.

Emi does well with the potty at home not so much as school perhaps because the vet potty is different. Not sure why. They have the small porcelain one and we have a small potty that looks like a full size toilet. It took DS a couple months to get comfortable at school. We kept him in pull-ups there when we were only doing undies or commando at home for 3 months and it wasn’t until we finally switched to undies at school that he was finally consistent. If he had the option of a pull-up, he was going to use it some of the time! But giving him some time to adjust at school felt like the right call for him so I’m glad we didn’t force it up front.

Remember how I called my kids easy yesterday? When will I learn not to say things like that?!? Last night I carried a screaming M under my arm and screaming DS by the wrist out of CFA after dinner. They were whining and yelling about not getting another straw/wanting more nuggets (after eating 6 nuggets each and refusing their fruit/milk)/wanting a high chair after not wanting a high chair minutes earlier. They were definitely exhausted and just could not handle being out but man it did not feel good. I totally jinxed myself!

peaseblossom55 I got M’s hair cut to even it up last May but I don’t know how often I’m supposed to cut it now?!? Are you getting a lot of length taken off? M’s is halfway down her back and I’m thinking it would be a lot easier to take care of if it were a couple inches shorter. Girl hair is so much more to deal with! What do you guys do with your girls hair for school/everyday? If I leave M’s down, it’s in her face/mouth and drives her crazy. At home I just pull the front to the side with a bow or clip but it has to get fixed 100 times a day and they just don’t do that at school haha. I’ve been doing a tiny braid with the top/front/bangs section so that part is out of her eyes but I don’t really know what else to do with it!

carrots dd’s Is down but it’s not long. A chin length bob I guess? Her hair just grows SO slowly compared to ds. I think she’s only had it cut twice and it was really just a trim. Probably an inch off between all the visits. I’m trying to grow her bangs out and it’s driving me insane. Always in her eyes and getting caught behind her glasses. I’m thinking about going back to short bangs because it’s driving me insane.

Ug. And it’s still so thin and fine and poofy and this cold static inducing weather is killing me. I really need her hair to do something else ASAP.

carrots E’s hair is thin an stringy. I usually get it into pigtails everyday. It keeps it out of her face. Her hair is half way down her back now. I feel it’s a small trim. Not sure once I start often to go either.

I finally got E to wear pulls this weekend sometimes she cries for the diaper and if we put on the diaper cries for the underwear. I give up! Lol

Well, I should've worked on the potty training more with W when the baby was still brand new and sleeping all the time. Now she's awake and alert most of the day but is usually insistent on being held and carried around to look at everything. But I'm going to be working with more consistently. He seems to have lost a lot of that early motivation and I worry we missed a good window of opportunity with him. :/

Dd just fell on her face for no apparent reason and broke her glasses AGAIN. I just. Can’t this kid get her hands out to break a fall?!

Lakes, Oh no! I sympathize with the face planting. Pretty sure it's the only part of W's body that knows how to break a fall. -.- But I'm thankful he doesn't have to worry about glasses or we would go through them like diapers!

E is doing well potty training has been going well. Sometimes she will tell us she has to go and other times especially if she is playing and in the middle of something will throw a tantrum when we try to get her to use the potty. She mostly has dry diapers all day just refuses to poop on the potty.
I know we have talked about this in the past what cup do your kids drink out of mostly? I need better cups for E.

Lakes oh no!!! I’m so sorry. The optician gave us a loaner pair and I thought of you and E because they’re pink! It’s so weird to see dd in a different color, it doesn’t seem like her. It’s amazing how fast something like glasses color becomes part of your kid’s personality. Pastel pink does not fit dd. She needs the raging fire red 😂

peaseblossom55 I use camelbak water bottles 99% of the time. For a non-water beverage I just use a mug with a paper straw. So I’m not really helpful in that department.

peaseblossom55 we use Ikea cups during meals. They’re cheap and a good size for toddlers. The rest of the time, it’s water in Camelback bottles.

M is potty trained! We did a weekend of boot camp 3 weeks ago with 2 days naked and 2 days commando and she just got it. She’s been in undies since except still doing pull-ups at school. I’m sending her in undies tomorrow though. She’s had zero accidents over this 4 day weekend so I think it’s time. It was so different from how potty training went with DS, thank goodness! I’m kind of in shock that she just ran with it.

carrots that is awesome! E refuses to wear underwear or pull ups. She stays dry but refuses anything but her baby diapers.

That's awesome carrots! This whole potty training thing with W is not going well. I can't seem to get enough time working consistently with him given how needy the baby has been recently.
