I am celebrating L's 1st birthday by feeling like a zombie/like I have a newborn in the house. DS1 threw up 4 times in the MOTN and then was up at 5:30 or 6:00 asking if it is morning yet. We are having a little party with some of our family members on the 17th. I will celebrate his birthday this evening by giving him some of the leftover cake from his 1 year old/cake smash photo shoot that we had on Saturday.

L will absolutely not keep his hands out of his hair when he eats. It is killing me. I canβt and donβt want to wipe his hands multiple times throughout each meal, but his hair is a sticky mess the rest of the day. A wet rag does not get all the stickiness out. And for some reason he always wants to put his toast in his hair or behind his ears.

My kid is one in three weeks. Whhhaaaaatttttt! So far only 17 people have rsvpβd. I hate this part of the party planning bit. Yes! Because how much food do you get? How many goody bags do you make up? Iβve been working on party games and stuff every night and the party is still a couple weeks away. Yep! And I have done nothing! H is like maybe today you should order the cake and Iβm like nah. But really I need to get onto that.

So heβs soaked after every meal and needs a change. Get it together babies. Sheesh.

DS2 hasnβt nursed from my right side in months. It is sad and deflated and poor lefty is doing all the nursing and pumping. I look ridiculous

L has woken up with a dry diaper for the last 3 days in a row and a few other days over the past week. Heβs still dry when we leave for daycare which is about 15 min after I get him up. Heβs usually wet once we get to daycare 25 min later though. Should I be concerned? It does worry me because heβs not nursing much at bedtime anymore and he maybe takes 3 sips of water or milk at dinner. He doesnβt seem to want to drink much from his cups overall, maybe an oz or two at each meal. Per daycareβs reports, heβs having wet diapers 4 times in the 9 hours heβs there.

clementine, I am not sure if that is concerning. H typically changes my L's diaper in the morning, so I don't know if he is consistently wet. I know his amount of fluid intake also has significantly declined now that we are trying to wean him off of bottles. He is demonstrating similar drinking behavior to your L. He only takes a few sips from cups at a time and then is done with them.

I think we are going to invite a handful of family and friends to meet us at the local ice cream parlor to celebrate L's birthday at the end of the month. Nothing crazy, just open a tab for everyone to get ice cream, sing to L, let her dive into a treat and then call it a day. We can't have anyone at the house (too small) and keeping it short will diffuse the awkwardness of my divorced ILs. I couldn't NOT have something for her though. This is an awesome idea. I hope I have some summer birthdays in the future cause no way is that gonna work here in March lol, but I'd love to do that!

Happy birthday to all the babies OMG. All the nostalgia. Wasn't it ArielMermaid that kept starting the baby vibes threads? And I tried it for her but apparently I didn't have the magic lol.

clementine maybe just keep an eye on it? it wouldnβt hurt to call pedi if youβre concerned. google says less than 6 wet diapers a day for infant or no wet diapers in 8 hours for toddler is concerning. dd2 has also just been sipping water/snacking while nursing and i guess i havenβt been really paying attention to diaper situation. i feel like maybe this is normal since they are starting to get more from solids and not nursing as much at this point? i dunno

Its not exactly tropical but I'm firmly of the belief that ice cream is a year round treat.

clementine, is L typically a heavy wetter? B isnβt at all and I feel like Iβm always on the edge of worry about it. None of the drs have ever been concerned but I might call the nurses line just for reassurance if I were you. Iβm sure itβs fine but it canβt hurt to just check.

I donβt know if Iβd consider him a heavy wetter in general, but he pretty much always has a very full wet diaper when he gets up. Heβs had a few leaks even. Pedi called to report lead test results (normal!) so I asked and she didnβt seem too worried as long as he was wetting within a hour or so of waking up. She said itβs probably just due to the adjustment to less bottles and more sippy and maybe he isnβt drinking quiet as much. Just monitor for other signs of dehydration like dry mouth/lips/eyes, no tears, lethargy.

Iβm loving the 1 year pics! The babies look so big. Probably because they are big. Ok now I have to go do some side by side pics and cry.

Iβve had a crazy busy week at work but I wanted to come in to wish all the babies happy birthday!! I remember what a crazy time it was last year! Happy birthday to all the ones I missed - clementine, polson, woodenshoes. And happy birthday to todayβs babies, leatherpants, sweetc129, whatsit. Omg it will be a miracle if I got those tags right.

yianna was the baby whisperer. Her threads were magic. I just complained a whole lot.

Is anyone buying 2T clothes yet? DS is wearing 18m but I'm browsing Kidizen and thought I could buy ahead, but I cannot fathom buying 2 T.
