What are 5 things going on in your life right now? Big or small, good or bad... you can pick more or less (I like the # 5)

1- Hiking- I’m going to hike Mt. Whitney this summer... hopefully. You have to get a permit and the permits are by lottery. H hiked it last year during our road trip, he and DD1s bf did a 1 day hike. H and I are planning to apply for the overnight permit for Labor Day weekend.
2- Sickness- these kids man... A started getting super high fevers with no other symptoms- Fever #6 only got up to 103 and she had a cold... she hasn’t had a high fever since- I’m going that cycle is broken. J has been getting ear infections, I’m over them and so is he... he’s had 3 in 4 months and I think his ears are bothering him again.
3- New York- the state, not the city... I’m going to NY next month. My mom is from Buffalo and there’s a big family get together over Easter weekend since we have family coming out from Italy. I decided to take A and J and go out there for a week.
4- DD1... you guys, I don’t even know where to begin. I’m so stinking proud of this kid. She’s going to CSUN right now and she’s keeping her grades up. She works at Wizarding World in Universal, but she just finished up an internship with NBC Universal. She was chosen for some fellowship that she’ll be participating in this summer. She’ll be gone 6 weeks, I’m terrible with details, but she was of 10 students chosen from her school (30 total nationwide)- they’ll help her prepare for grad school and it ends with her giving a speech at Penn State... lol Her bf asked us last week if he we’d be okay if her proposed. Our response was he doesn’t need our approval, but yes he has it. H asked him what he plans on doing when she moves away for Grad School and he said he’ll go where she goes. He has a great job out here, but he can probably find work anywhere. She’s young, 22, but they’re such a great couple. He really motivates her to achieve her goals and she shows him so much support and love that he’s never really had before. If she’s going to get married, we’d like it to be this guy. Also- he had my grandmother’s ring fixed up and that’s what he proposing with. He sent us a text last week saying he decided to do it on 3/24. They’re going to go to see where the wildflowers are blooming, he asked her old boss from the photography studio to ask her if they’d take couple photos for her portfolio- she loves the wild flowers so there was no hesitation. I’m excited that I’ll get to see pictures.
5- The In-laws...my FIL saw A once, she was 8 months old; he cane over for less than 5 minutes, held her for about 2 and that’s it. We stopped talking to them before A was born. We recently reconnected with them and they’re coming down to visit in a few weeks (they live in WA now). A is really excited, I hope it goes well.

1. Buying and selling. We bought a new house. Need to sell our current house. I need to start packing but first i need boxes. And my h is out of town for most of this. I'm just a tad stressed.
2. Buckling down on counting my macros to see if this helps with weight loss. Otherwise, I am still running and working my way thru Liift4 and Piyo.
3. Need to register C for VPK in new school district. And A for school next year. I don't know where to start.
4. Planning a 3 day weekend at Disney for A's 6th birthday.
5. Working on my patience. With all of this stress, i really need to remember to breath and not hastily respond.

That’s a lot RunsforWineandCarbs... congrats on the house, but I know what a huge burden moving is. It’s hard to work in patience when there is so high stress things going on. I guess maybe that’s the most important time to learn it, but I haven’t figured it out without Lexapro. A Disney weekend for A sounds like a blast! Is it going to be a surprise for her? What parks? I’m taking the kids (A, J, DD1 and her bf) to Disneyland and CA Adventure on the 14th, but we’re just doing the 1 day park hopper. I wish H could take a day off work and come, but it’s not looking like that’s a possibility.

1. Ski trip. We are supposed to leave Thursday evening for a ski trip. M is so excited to see snow. I am excited to ski. 2. Sickness. also here. We have all been to the dr. M is on his 2nd course of antibiotics for an ear infection and tester positive for the flu. I'm worried the little one will get it and it will screw our trip especially since he is supposed to go to the resort daycare while we ski. 3. New friends hopefully. DH former student (grad school) is moving to our town. They have 1.5 yr old twins and his wife works in my general field. I hope we can hang out. 4. Growing. The baby is now walking and starting to communicate. it is pretty fun. M is wanting to help or do everything himself. 5. Exercise. I joined an exercise place and am trying to be consistent. I was doing well before all the sickness.

1 - Re-evaluating how I spend my time. Spent the past 2 years climbing the corporate ladder and I am facing burn out big time and trying to figure out how to navigate that. I am starting to get really bad anxiety and not sleeping due to the stress so I need to figure this out asap. I had a full day of chest pains on Sunday and I am hesitant to ask for medication because it doesn't really fix what I know is the problem. I am going to try to negotiate lunch breaks and sick days in the near future. And an extra week of holidays. 2 - Hockey season just ended and dance ends tomorrow. I will enjoy the breather that is the time between hockey and soccer. 3 - We are into month 6 of winter and I am OVER. IT. Ready for spring. 4 - DH and I have been talking a lot about how to prioritize our social life. We want friends, and mostly to make time for our friends. 5 - I am also on the macros train. I have gotten suppppper into Peloton and have been really consistent so I love that.

1-Running-back at it again! Running a half this month and think I'll train for a full in the fall since I turn 40 in October-that's my idea of celebrating! 2-Babies-not so little anymore. V turned one on 2/6 and E seems like such a big boy...(see 3) 3-PreK-getting ready to register E for school next year. Still working on figuring out if we can get into the school 2 miles from our house or if we'll have to have him at the school 15 miles away. Districting situation/new school construction/many factors at play. 4-School for me-so busy. I have 3 preps (we teach the block so that is the largest number I would/could have) and working on some other projects too so I'm feeling overwhelmed during the work day. 5-Reading-getting back into it. I just read "The Hate U Give" and now I'm moving on to "Dumplin." I may check out the books thread for inspiration.

1) I'm the cookie mom/troop leader for Gs girl scout troop. It's a lot and I'm counting down till cookie season is done! 2) DS1 has failed three hearing tests now. We go to the ENT again on Tuesday and I'm really hoping we can figure out what's going on soon. 3) DS2 is such a difficult teether, and it's been so long! We're not sleeping great still, because he's so uncomfortable. Meds don't help. 4) We're all over winter and anxiously waiting for spring! So ready to be outdoors again. 5) I've been in such a negative mental space lately, and just can't kick it. My stress levels are high, I'm tired, and I know that is why I'm so down and irritable. I just don't know how to change it.

CestLaVie hugs for the job stuff. I hope you cam get a good balance soon. Work stress can be so hard to manage. easternshoregirl how is she 1 already?! mommabakes I'm sorry for the failed hearing tests. Do you have reason to suspect hearing loss? With M he kept failing tests and we had to do the sedated ABR. Turns out his ear canals are so tiny it was really due to equipment.

1. I'm good, but busy at work. I love the position I started in November. I'm getting more team members tomorrow, they've been in training for the past 14 weeks. I cam already feel How much more time consuming it will be.
2. M is good. He's still enjoying preschool, and I love the care team he has.
3.We started soccer yesterday to focus on getting him more physical activity. He was done halfway through, but we made it to the end even though he wasn't participating much. Dyspraxia makes him get tired quicker than other kids his age because his brain is working so hard. My hope is to get him to be able to participate in one full session.
4. His bio brother and family are visiting us next weekend. Excited, must also clean the house like whoa.
5. Time change can suck it.

@ampaints he has speech issues (phonological delay+talks loudly), which is why I've been doing the hearing tests.

mommabakes I hope you get a definitive answer soon and if there is hearing loss it's easily treatable.
