I think we’ve already talked about this a little, but the board is dead so HELLO! But I’m lost on what to get my little. We have everything because we have two girls. I’m not sure what to get her for her birthday. We don’t have a water table yet, but I think we will ge getting one for toddler Mermaid for her birthday (May).

Yeah I’m stuck for ideas too. I got B a growth chart from Etsy because I know he’ll love that (ha) and I got each of the books a book from Wonderbly.
I really don’t know what to get my almost 5 (!) yo though. They have so much.

I think I might just get him some little people animals that goes with the farm that DD got for her first birthday...then I think I’ll just put some money in his savings account. He really doesn’t need anything, and he’s really just now starting to play with toys he got for Christmas.

Ya DS really doesn't NEED anything. I think I'll finally get his baby quilt finished, maybe I'll get a stuffed fox to wrap with it to be more exciting to him. DH is looking for a ride on toy to get him, but I don't want that in my little house nor is DS really ready. But I am not getting in the way of DH's spontaneous gift giving lol so we'll see. I know he'll get at least two toys from family so I don't feel bad not buying him anything else. Oh I did get some toy woodland animals for decor for the party so he'll get those.

They are so perfect especially for kids with more uncommon names! My friends have loved them. I just got the one for L that’s the space adventure and you out in your address and the satellite of your house gets put in the book? He’s going to flip. It’s so cool

We’re getting Owen a Nugget. It will really be for both kids😅 because it will be going down into our newly finished basement.
When DD turned one we got her a little Baby Stella doll and put $$ into her savings acct (plus the giant birthday party).

Maybe I’ll get some new Duplos. Ours are stretched out and don’t stay built anymore. DD1 is v v v frustrated with them.

DD2 doesn’t need a damn thing. She’ll be getting something personalized/keepsake-y and that’s it from us. She’s headed to real DC soon so I’ll have to get our DCP some baby stuff since she usually has toddlers+.
I’m struggling to get toys OUT of our house. We’re completely overwhelmed right now.

I bought DS the little baby Thomas the tank track (since H’s grandma got him one of the trains for it for Christmas and it’s useless without the track as the track has the bits to make the train make its noises).
Other than that not much. Some books that make noise. New pjs.
We have 70 people (including babies) invites for his party so..... 😬

I need ideas!!! I have zero ideas and his birthday is next week. I think we may do one of those cozy coupe things or some other car thing for both boys. But then I’m doubting myself because we want to get DS1 a bike with training wheels for his big gift for his birthday and I don’t want 50 new big items.
I don’t think we are getting him any news toys. He doesn’t play with the ones from Christmas because he only cares about DS1’s stuff. And also...I’m running out of room for toys and I feel like I already own everything they sell at target. 😬
I might do some new outfits and shoes.

snip We have 70 people (including babies) invites for his party so..... 😬 Omg 70!!! 😱 How? Well mine and H’s immediate family only is 18. His extended family are huge and we see them a lot but they kind of forget that a) I have an extended family too and b) theyve has their turn of being aunts/uncles, it’s H’s and my siblings turn. That sounds harsh, we do love and appreciate them but one of his aunts is BSC and we don’t really want her around them that much. So we limit and only invite them all to the first birthday and do subsequent kid birthdays with just our immediate families. There was a mega tantrum that H’s crazy aunt didn’t get invited to DS1’s second birthday. So that lot are another 20 (not all will come, I reckon 12). Our closest friends and their kids (like 12 adults and 10 kids) plus a couple of friends that we felt we should invite but we’ve kind of drifted away from (4 adults and 5 kids)- I’m hoping they don’t come. So yeah. Yikes.

DS2 does not need any toys for his birthday. We have way too many cars and trucks already. I might cry if we get anymore cars and trucks.
My mom keeps asking what to get DS2 and I don't know. I think she is going to get him a water table for this summer. My FIL made DS1 a sand table, and my dad made DS1 a sand box, so I guess we need a water table to go in the mix.
These are ideas that I currently have for DS1: A growth chart. My sister worked at a graphic design place when DS1 was little, but doesn't work there anymore. I am having a difficult time deciding on what design to get for DS2. I also want one that goes up to at least 6 foot since both of them are likely going to be tall (I am 5'11" and H is 6'4")
A lunchbox and thermos
Another nap mat. We got one for Christmas, but DS1 is using and he will probably being using it until he goes to kindergarten in the fall.
Various 12-18 month clothing because DS1 was mostly in long pants and shirts at that size and I think DS2 is going to be in that size this summer.

We don't need anything either. I'll probably get her a cute outfit and a pair of shoes. We're not doing a big party either. Just brunch with grandparents and aunties and then a day at the aquarium.

So yeah. Yikes. Ah okay, this seems like a good way to handle it. This sounds a lot like DH’s extended family. DH’s extended family is close to 40 people and it’s been a mess with his sister and cousins trying to branch out and not invite everyone to everything. Same thing - all of his aunts get offended if they are not included in everything and everyone is like..uhhh you had your turn. It’s also hard because he has two aunts who never married and don’t have kids...so then everyone feels guilty and invites them to everything. We are also having a tough time when we go into town because we feel like our kids should get to see their grandparents and aunt/uncle/cousins, not have to spend it with their third cousin or great aunts who they just don’t even know. It’s been a huge struggle. Family dynamics are so hard.

I’m thinking some indestructible books since she loves destroying all the books in the house. I’m otherwise stumped ‘cause we have a ton of toys and such.

The girls birthdays are a couple weeks apart. I’m thinking about taking them to the nearest water park for the day (maybe spend a night but IDK). The baby loves baths so I’m thinking it would be a fun thing for her too. I have to see if they have anything/anywhere for her to be. Has anyone taken a one year old to an indoor water park ?

We just got back from Great Wolf Lodge this weekend. My 3.5yo had an absolute blast and Owen seemed to enjoy it too! H and I did a “divide and conquer” game plan and that worked well. All 4 of us would meet up in the wave pool for some together time before switching and splitting up again. O was happy just splashing around waiting for C to come down the slides on the kiddie playground. I think you guys would have fun!

I'm going to get her some clothes, shoes, bathing suit and hat. And for toys, I got the leap frog tea party set.
Once we're settled in our new house I'm going to order a pikler triangle, but that won't be in time for her birthday.

This toy ended up being the biggest hit. J loves it and all the other toddlers tried to steal it.

That's funny sweetc129, I gave that toy to my kids a couple weeks ago and it was a complete bust 😂. I'm glad yours are loving it!
