It’s the last week of February! It’s the shortest month of the year, but for me, Feb always draaaaaags along. What’s up as we close out the month?

I’m ready for Feb to be over. It’s not super cold where we live or anything like that, but I just kind of have a thing against Feb. Not sure why!
LO continues to be walking with a lot more confidence and just generally more aware. He’s already starting to recognize letters, so I definitely think he recently completed a mental leap. I am hoping for another good night of sleep pleaaaase!
In other random news, I have to make a visit to the dentist sometime soon...and that reminded me that I have been thinking on and off about getting Invisalign. Anyone here have experience with it? My teeth aren’t very crooked, but some little things bug me and it would be nice to even them out.

So my diva cup has been super pissing me off since, basically forever, but mostly the last few months. Today I finally decided if its just going to leak all over why even put it in, so I decided to just use some pads that I had laying around from the hospital after E was born. A few things: 1) 3 days PP me did not realize how big these things are 2) 16m PP me definitely does and 3) there is a tingly sensation on my lady parts? I can only assume this is why the pad had a green stripe down the middle

Speaking of BC, I have had a time with my pills since having DS. After my 6-week checkup I went back to the same pill I was on prior to having DD - or whatever the newest generic name was. It was fine for a few months, then I started having breakthrough bleeding. Doctor thought the hormone levels might be too low, so this month I started the same type of pill, but it has a slightly higher level of hormones. Well, I'm allergic to something in the new pill and have been breaking out sporadically in hives for 3 weeks now. I didn't want to stop a pack mid-month, so I'm on my last week, thank God. I'm going to swap back to my old pill and see if I continue to have mid-month bleeding. I hate trying to schedule an appointment, take off work, etc., so I'm trying to put it off as long as I can.

Taitai, i did invisalign express on my bottom teeth! just 10 trays and bam. done. after i finished and was happy with the results, i chose to do the permanent wire retainer. not crazy about that but i'd rather not have to deal with another retainer. I think you should do it! you will be pleased with the results. my bottom teeth had a little bit of gapping in the middle and now they are perfectly straight!

DD2 has been so, so clingy and so, so whiny. I don’t know why. Teeth I hope and I hope it’s over soon. Just lots of crying and throwing herself on the floor. No real reason that I can find. It’s exhausting. She mostly just cried from daycare pickup to bed. I feel like I’m back in the baby stage again where I just guess about a bunch of things that could be wrong but I’m never really sure.

Also, I need to order cupcakes for DD1’s birthday this weekend. Nothing fancy but daycare requires store bought so I need to do that asap. Pre-children I always saw myself as one of those Pinterest party planning moms and it turns out I’m like... wanna play with our toys kids? Have at it! Here’s so funfetti cupcake you can your own sprinkles too! DD1 is having a small party Saturday and I’m very “doing the least” with no currs. I would not do well over there Taitai (I realize it’s a culture thing there too)

danvers I am not Pinterest-y either about planning parties! It’s just so much work....and I’m so lazy. I think keeping it simple is the way to go; that’s how I grew up and I wish people over here in our circle would be more chill about the kid birthday parties. Sigh. I am sure your party will be fun, and most importantly - that your DD will feel special and loved! codex320 Thank you so much for the info on invisalign! I also have crowded bottom teeth, and I want them straight! I still have all of my wisdom teeth, so I am going to get those removed once DS2 is weaned, and then once I’m all healed up, I’m going to do Invisalign I think. My top teeth are fine, but my incisors are starting to stick out a tiny little bit, so I want to reign those in too. Is the permanent retainer a total pain? Like - is it hard to keep clean and do you worry about cavities forming behind it? I am sure they figure all that stuff out, but just curious.

I’m home today with a feverish DS1. No other symptoms, just 101-102 temp. He’s so upset about missing the book fair at school.

Stomach bug - 3 Coach's house - 1
Both boys fell to the bug Saturday. DS1 was pretty much ok by bedtime Saturday and DS2 woke up puking at 10pm. We were up with him until about 3am, but he seemed ok after that.
I woke up to the worst stomach bug I've ever had yesterday morning. It completely wiped me out. Keeping my fingers crossed that my husband doesn't get it.
Our house cleaner was scheduled to come today and I text her yesterday asking her to take extra measures to disinfect our home. DS1 is 3.5 and had never had a stomach bug but he's had 2 since Christmas. Super done with winter.

danvers I have clinger here too. I had a mini breakdown this morning because I’ve spent the last 3 days basically just holding a toddler and haven’t got shit done.

Mine can last night. someone at work tried the “days are long, years are short” crap on me when I mentioned not having my body/space/time to myself and I thought briefly of throat punching her 😑

It was an interesting day at work. We had a mtg today where some parents spent a good part of it yelling at us (principal, me, counselor, etc) and accusing us of some craziness. It doesn’t happen often and usually we have a lot of success at our school working with parents as a team but sometimes... 😳😳😳 I probably would have wilted and cried as a first year teacher. 10 yrs in and now I’m a little jaded (and tired).
I could never work with adults in any kind of industry I think so bless you all who do. Give me a class full class of kids anyday because adults are just 😑

I am so tired. My kid is still teething and he is a terrible teether...DD was such a dream that this is killing us...molar 4 is breaking through finally so hopefully we get a break. And he basically eats nothing I cook anymore either. He used to eat anything and everything. It’s sucks

So many first kids here were good teethers and have little siblings who are nightmare teethers. Whyyyyy?
I'm so ready to get out of dodge next week for a few days on our trip, but I also feel really terrible for my mom, who is taking care of the boys most of the time we're gone. I'm praying all the prayers that DS2's sleep improves by then.

CoachTsWife I know it’s hard, but don’t feel bad about taking that special trip to Mexico! It’s only temporary, and the caregiver and your kids will get through it. You deserve to have some time for yourself and your H, especially after the crazy last few months. I will be sending positive thoughts for the kids to be sweet little angels and amazing sleepers while you are away 😉 codex320 Thanks for the info about the retainer! The permanent option appeals to me, because I don’t like the idea of dealing with putting in, taking out, and cleaning a removable retainer each night. But I worry about keeping the teeth clean that touch the permanent retainer. Let me know what your dentist says when you see him next!

Why are cakes out here so expensive!?!? I’m trying to get a super hero themed cake for DS1’s birthday, and all these companies are coming back with like $350 quotes. It’s like nobody does sheet cakes out here and they all make wedding quality ones. Arghhh.

DS is the *total* opposite. He's a clingy, whiny, drooly mess. He's currently working on his lower canines and he was a different baby for a little while. One has popped through, so just one to go...for now.

Still working on lower canines here. Somewhat better today though I haven’t seen if either or both have pooped through. DD2 is biting at daycare and I feel terrible because I swear we wpuldbt or don’t let her bite but we don’t see it happening at home.
DD1 was always the kid who got bit so I’ve now been on both sides of the equation. Like in one week in the 2s/3s classroom last year she got bit 4 times by two different kids. I was livid but more so because of the kids ages and these were known issues with these two boys and whatnot. Whenever she got bit in the crawlers/walkers room I was a bit more zen because they’re all so little.

It’s safety night at swimming and I’m not sure I’ve laughed this hard in awhile. Six 3-4 yr olds all in boating life jackets for the first time and the instructor trying to herd them up and down the pool lane 😂 it’s adorable and also hilarious watching the instructor try to teach them to stay near each other and how to float with these properly 😂

danvers That sounds so cute! I love stuff like that - reminds me of a time I went to a college hockey game, and they had these tiny 4-5 year olds come out in full gear/pads to play during half time. The first one on the ice tripped, which caused a chain reaction and resulted in like 12 tiny hockey kids star-fishing on the ice, with their coach scrambling to corral them all and get them off the ice in time 🤣😂. It was so adorable.

My kid just ate the top off her crayon, realized that was a mistake, tried to get it out (failed) so she just chewed it and then smiled at me. Ground up purple crayon everywhere.

I started WW again on Monday and I’m starving. I just want my pre baby body back. Pity party, table for one.

FML my period showed up. I haven’t had one since before I was pregnant last and that was a hormone induced one. I hadn’t had one for 6 months before that. I really thought I was done with all this. I don’t even have any supplies.
I’m pulling a Marilyn Monroe, sleeping with a pantiliner and keeping my fingers crossed. We have a waterproof mattress cover and white sheets that can be bleached. So 🤷♀️

Happy Saturday! We have no plans today which is nice. H went to get an oil change and is stuck there because of our little league parade. I’m laughing. The kids were quiet earlier this morning so I went to find them and saw this.
