Weekends at our house usually involve dh making breakfast, although that was a bigger thing when we had fewer kids, now it's all hands in deck and I usually want a break from the kiddos so cooking alone is a relief. We usually do one "outing" to the zoo or playground and church. Otherwise, yard work, a trip to work workout and Skypeing with grandparents sucks up the time. This weekend we are both volunteering at church and I am tutoring so we will probably take the kids swimming and let them play outside. Our yard needs mowing and they want to camp so maybe I can convince dh to sent up the tent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Http://notjustnovels.wordpress.com

DS has a super busy schedule this summer so it's almost as if he's at school M-F. I'm still home so there's that. Weekends, DS is super excited to have DH home the whole day so we're usually out & about. There's always an event to go to more times than not so when we're not going somewhere festival/fair/town event related, we'll go to attractions, plan weekend trips, or just relax in the backyard while DS plays with all his stuff but weekends are lots of family fun time.

Our weekends are usually family time and errand time. We have a birthday party to go to on Sunday. I try to get time alone, but sometimes that doesn't happen. MH likes to spend one on one time with the kids, so I get the one he isn't spending time with.

DH is usually home on the weekends, so that is how we usually differentiate during the summer. But he is working tomorrow, so this weekend will feel a little off. Tomorrow will probably be spent cleaning. I am also in the process of reupholstering the couch, so I'm sure I'll be working on that more. And I'm pretty sure we will be taking the kids fishing on Sunday. DS has been begging to go

Tomorrow morning we are going to the zoo with DH's cousin and then we are having our monthly game night. I don't think we have any plans for Sunday.
I usually try not to do any housework on the weekends to separate it from the weekdays. We also usually try to do some type of family outing...the zoo, the park, swimming, etc.

Today our town is having its annual 'chalk walk.' It's a super fun event where everyone fills the sidewalks of Main Street with chalk art so we'll be attending. DS loves drawing so I'm excited to see what he thinks up this year compared to years past.

DH currently works most weekends. So our weekends are pretty much the same as weekdays minus school. During the school DS and I will go to the zoo or science museum.
We live within a couple of hours max to several zoos and theme parks, so if DH is off we'll usually go to one. Sometimes for the weekend or day.
When DS was younger-DH didn't work weekends-we'd go to the park, run errands, go to the large zoo.

My husband works every other weekend so it just depends for us. When he is off, I try and plan a few small family things that we can do and it just feels a little more relaxed because it's not 100% me in charge. Lately I have also been trying to do one bigger cleaning/organization project because we have way too much crap going on here.

My H got a promotion about 6 months ago so now he is home 90% of the time on weekends. I try to have grocery shopping and chores done during the week so we don't have to spend time on those. We take turns sleeping late (as in 7:30 rather than 6:30). Sometimes we make a big breakfast. H usually has yard work or a house project he needs to work on. We try to do at least one fun thing as a family, even if it's as simple as a bike ride to the park or going out for supper one night.
