dashook I had a long convo with my midwife about pitocin contractions vs regular and she assured me that if I could handle pictocin contractions naturally, then I could handle anything. So I’m also team fingers crossed for spontaneous labor! Although DD broke my water spontaneously and then just decided not to do anything for 14 hrs... so, hoping for not that!

I'm feeling much better this afternoon. Just extra tired.
DS1 keeps telling me he wishes A were here already. Same, dude. I told him we were going to take him to the ultrasound tomorrow but I phrased it as going to see A and poor kid thought that meant A would be here tomorrow >.<

thelittleredm aww that’s sweet, though! My D keeps asking “when is the baby going to be out already?” With an annoyed/disgusted sigh lol

Every birth is so different that it’s almost pointless to wish for one thing or the other to happen. I know this and yet I still have my wishlist! I handled Pitocin contractions until 7 cm with my first two before getting the epidural. And my epi with DD honestly wasn’t very effective, especially once the back labor got really bad. I think with her I was just gun shy because I had to push for 5 hours with DS and was afraid of that happening again, so I asked for the epidural. But pushing was sooo much faster/easier with her (~40 minutes), even with her being sunny side up. In hindsight I think maybe I could have done without, and my confidence is much higher this time around. But we shall see.

I lost part of my plug last night. Rationally, I know that this is just part of a very long process, it can still regrow at this point, etc, but there’s still a part of my brain that’s like, “OMG IT’S ALL HAPPENING.”

CharlieB, I lost part of my plug at 35 weeks with DS1 and my FTM brain refused to listen to the logic that said it would probably grow back because of how early it was. Logic brain was right lol But as gross as it is, it's something that gets me excited every time because it means at least something is happening!

Growth ultrasound went well this morning...ish lol A let us get a lot more facial pictures this time but the tech really struggled to get her to move into a good position to get a lot of the more specific internal measurements. And then A just got carried away rolling around, kicking, punching, etc. So that was at least fun to watch in 4D. Here she is, stylishly wearing her cord like a scarf.

That’s one cute baby, thelittleredm! @amc I am crossing everything for you that everything goes smoothly with this LO’s arrival. Today DS told me the baby in my belly is very strong, and soon the baby will burst out of my belly. I can kinda see why he thinks that 😆 Also FFFC I have never lost my MP. I mean obviously at some point it had to come out, but it must have happened all at once with my water breaking late in active labor, because I never saw or noticed it at any point. I don’t even know if I would recognize what was happening if I did lose it this time lol

@thelittleredmn so sweet!
Our last scheduled u/s was this morning, 32 weeks. All looks good. Baby was head down, facing forward, curled asking my right side. Surprised there's still so much room in there to swim around because it always feels like baby is jammed in there one direction or another! Baby's head measured over 9cm or 35.5 weeks already so glad to be having a c section lol. Overall baby is estimated at 4lb 15 oz so far and 68th percentile.

My appt this morning was kind of discouraging. No progress from last week except that I think baby dropped lower as his/her head is right on my cervix. I saw a new dr and she recommended getting an u/s next week to check on baby’s size and fluid, but she said it was up to me. I’m feeling meh about that. She was suggesting an induction at 39 weeks based on my last baby’s birth size (9.1 lbs two days past due date), coupled with an ultrasound that could be totally inaccurate I don’t see the point-other than to check fluid which I guess could be a concern but never was my other pregnancies. I’m just sad that this happens every time, can’t this baby just come out spontaneously?! like tonight? 🤞 also, even with the size concerns-she wouldn’t strip my membranes so 🙄.

sunshiney, Glad the ultrasound went well! A is positioned the same way, although kept rolling over and facing my back when she deemed us done with pictures. And I can imagine you're feeling a tiny bit of relief about the csection after those measurements! Lol

k, That would have me irritated the rest of the day. The lack of offer to sweep your membranes shocks me, really. My midwife offered at 38w because I'd been walking around at a 5 for over two weeks already and was in a ton of pain. Granted, I held off another week because the guilt was real, but still.

I swear this baby flipped around 4 or 5 times since my ultrasound yesterday morning. It’s noticeable because it’s quite painful! She definitely has room in there to position herself in the coming weeks. I am less concerned about the breech thing at this point.

Ive been so MIA, Vinny had a tongue tie that needed to be corrected a second time on Wednesday. feeding was an absolute uphill battle. It got corrected and seems to have worked! 🙌🙌🙌 plus my milk came in and he is sleeping in his bassinet finally! There has been lots going on. Plus ive been working on getting his days and nights corrected. I hope everyone is doing well. I'll have to catch up later. Congrats redhead610! Your son is beautiful!

Foxy, All the wins for you! It makes things seems so much less stressful when stuff starts working out well. Ah! I was looking over our ultrasound pics (basically only facial pics because A wouldn't let the tech get good images of anything else) and realized the tech had managed to catch A with her eyes open in one of them! It was so cool to watch on the screen, I didn't even stop to think that we might get an image of it Lol

Has anyone done a hello baby box through babylist? It’s $5 for shipping but then you get a $10 credit so I was just going to buy some wipes or something with the credit. We’ll see!

We got home from the hospital yesterday. Ds2 (almost 2.5) gave him a tour of the house and then asked him to play hot wheels with him. He had been really apprehensive at the hospital so I'm glad to see he isn't still.
Our first night went ok. Need to figure out daytime sleeping/eating sinc ehe was up for awhile, but we did get some decent chunks of uninteruppted sleep last night! Our other 2 were summer babies so our biggest hurdle is trying to keep him warm enough! He didn't seem to like the swaddleme

redhead610, DS2 could wiggle out of a swaddle like no one's business as a newborn (he did it less the older he got which was weird). He is a January baby so we would put him in the swaddle me with his arms out, fleece jammies on, and if I remembered to do it, little mittens. Other times, we'd just put him in some fleece jammies and a winter sleep sack. Seemed to work to keep him warm.

I must look really over work today and in pain because quite literally, everyone has commented on it. "You look really pregnant today", "You look tired, are you feeling okay?", etc. Yes, I am really pregnant. Yes, I am quite tired. No, I don't feel great because I'm really pregnant and it makes me tired and I hurt and I don't want to be here. Move along.

redhead610 that is adorable about your DS2 showing LO around!! I hope DD (2) will be welcoming like that. She’s been a nightmare this week (screaming and crying over every little thing) and I am guessing that part of it is due to her sensing the impending arrival. I just hope she’s not too upset when baby is here 😕

I took down the Christmas tree and packed up everything this morning and it completely wore me out! My house is a wreck and I haven't really prepped anything for baby yet. Starting to stress out since at this point baby girl could make an appearance anytime.

Foxy DD also had a TT and nursing was so much better after it was revised. In my experience nipple shields really helped in the early days when my nipples were super sore and nursing was painful but hopefully y’all are past that. Woohoo for your milk coming in! Hopefully you’re not in too much pain. redhead610 how sweet of your DS, that’s great that he’s warming up to his little brother! Yay for getting some decent sleep! k that’s so weird she wouldn’t strip your membranes. Did she say why? My OB was all for it at 38 weeks with DD although I’m not sure if I’ll do it this time bc it didn’t help get things moving... I ended up being induced about 10 days later. The sweep just made me have more painful BH for the rest of the day which kind of sucked. dashook I feel for you lady. DD (3.5) has also been acting out the last week or so as well and everything has been an argument. She’s being a tad ridiculous at times and I have a feeling it’s because we’re spending more time getting ready for LO and she knows things are about to change around here soon. I doubt things will get easier when baby arrives, at least not at first, but a girl can hope!

cch she said they weren’t allowed to do it before 39 weeks bc it’s a form of induction, but I’ve def had them stripped before 39 weeks before. And she was literally just talking about scheduling an induction for me so not sure why it mattered 🙄. Hopefully the OB will do it for me Wednesday but Im not super hopeful it will do anything anyways.
