Who has Thanksgiving plans? (Sorry Canadians, I know you’ve already BTDT.)
We’re hosting (we do ours on Friday so everyone can see inlaws on Thursday.) 24 people. 😮 And H leaves tomorrow morning till Thursday because his grandmother passed away (she was 97 and went peacefully.) And baby had a 103.5 fever yesterday, and just threw up on me.
So this should be fine! Totally fine. Nothing to see here.

I wish it was Thanksgiving here! Just another mundane work week.
The baby turned 10 months yesterday and took is first steps! My husband and I both saw it so that was fun. I feel like he’s going to running around in now time.

Good morning!
We are celebrating thanksgiving but thankfully I am not hosting anything. I will be going to my dads. My stepmom makes the meal. I will bring cookies. She has to host because her parents are very very particular and they don’t like to go out, they can’t host at their house and they have no other family that is local. It will be nice.
Then I will probably go shopping.
Today the baby has an appointment for his second flu shot. His tummy troubles are getting better I think. He only pooped once yesterday which is a vast improvement over the three times a day of grossness.

We are flying up north tomorrow so fx travel isn't awful. We will be seeing DH's family which is always interesting. We are doing Thanksgiving with his mom's side Thursday and his dad's side Friday. And hopefully doing a little shopping friday to find my christmas present. Baby's hair is getting pretty long in the front and I think her daycare teacher was giving me a hint when she sent her home with a bow clipping it back haha.

sarahh, speaking of long baby hair, any tips on barrettes or bows or something to help keep it out of V's face that she is less likely to take out right away? I know a bang trim is prob the easiest but I'd like to see what it looks like it we let it keep growing!

Hi! We are good. I'm feeling very relaxed, today is my last day at work until next Tuesday! (we are off for Thanksgiving and then I have V's (belated) 9 month appt/flu shot booster on Monday)
We are hosting for Thanksgiving, but just DH's parents and us. So, low stress. I just picked up our turkey last night and have a list of things to work on making tomorrow and Thursday morning. I'm doing turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potato casserole, roasted brussels sprouts, kale/fennel/apple salad, cranberries. Grandma is bringing mashed potatoes and another kind of cranberries and pie. I'll also make a fruit salad to add with dessert.
What time do you people do your big meal? We always have done a big mid-day meal but I feel like a lot of our friends do it in the evening. I just can't imagine eating that much so late in the day!

We haven’t tried much on baby yet but I need to dig out the bow clips we used to see if she will mess with them or not. I forget if I got them at Target or Amazon. Neither or my kids will let me do a headband so that wasn’t an option for us.

Hi all! bassa so sorry!! Sending all the wine. We will do dinners on Thursday with my mom and my IL’s at 2 and 4pm. Work gives us Black Friday as a holiday and I’m looking forward to putting up Christmas decorations in peace while the kids go to the sitter. We always use tiny elastics from Amazon for front bangs. Clips and things seem to fall out alone.

I told people to come at 1:30 for apps, and we’ll eat at 3:00. I’m making the turkey (just picked it up this morning after dropping DD1 at daycare!), stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, cranberry bread, and a cranberry linzer torte. I wanted to make apple pie but I don’t think there’s a way to make ahead of time and have it still be fresh.
Others are bringing veggie entree, mashed potatoes, sweet potato dish, corn casserole, scalloped tomato dish, salad, bread, cornbread, pumpkin pie, cherry pie, coconut custard pie, gelato, whipped cream, drinks.
Food food food. I’m glad I got to the store this morning, I imagine it will just get exponentially more crazy there until Thursday afternoon.

Oh my gosh. I’m sitting in the nursery with baby as she sleeps in my arms (usually she naps in her crib, but she’s sick so I’m rocking her.) and the lights just turned on.
Like, we’re sitting in the dark and suddenly it’s very bright.
We have hue bulbs and H has the app on his phone, so i’m guessing he accidentally turned it on? But he’s on a 6 hour drive right now, so i’m sitting here holding my hand over baby’s eyes in this bright ass room.

I have so much cleaning and house prep to do and I work until 3 tomorrow. I’m trying not to freak out but I am. And I cook pretty much everything from scratch except for the pies.

easternshoregirl I am going to my dads house for thanksgiving. They do apps at 2 and dinner around 4:30. I won’t be getting there until 2:30 or 3 because the baby has to nap. My stepmom said not to worry about being late and let the baby nap. She is the best.

It took me 15 minutes to find French fried onion in the store and they were out of every brand of frozen green beans. My anxiety went through the roof tonight. I was just annoyed by every little thing and wanted 10 minutes to myself (haha!)

My parents are here. I have one work thing to do today and was hoping to get in and out early but it isn't looking that way. I still need to get a few more grocery items but it will be a zoo at the store. My dad put the baby down in ds2 bed yesterday because "he wouldn't settle in the crib" Well he rolled off and got trapped between the mattress and the floor. He is fine but I'm not pleased. ETA meant to say wall

Hi guys!! Been awhile since I’ve checked in here. Between H coming home from deployment last month & sickness/teething life has been a little nuts. Hope you guys have been doing well! We are in teething hell right now which is awesomeeee.

I really like this shop but I can almost guarantee there are cheaper ones on Etsy.

Just popping in to key formula feeders know that Similac has a 35% off coupon on Amazon. There is a box to check to when you add it to the cart.

Happy Thanksgiving! It is turning into one of my favorite holidays because it is just about family and food, no gifts.
