Over the past week my 3 year old has been taking off his diaper at night and wetting the bed. I have been mentally preparing for potty training next month while my husband is away for 3 weeks (because he has no chill). Then, last night... poop. He pooped in his diaper before bath time as is usual. Then, he pooped in the bath and just stood there. Gross, but ok. Easy to clean, right? But no... he had saved up two days worth of poop and was not done. After putting him to bed, I check the monitor to see if the diaper was off and see him holding out his hands looking at... something. Dread overtakes me as I open the door to find him covered in poop.
We are potty training starting today, because how much worse can it be. But damn... I haven't felt this god awful since sleep training.
Don't know if anyone goes to this forum, but I figure this is better than putting a poop story on Facebook.

Oh dear lord. You have my sympathies.
I know some people may not agree, but I know someone who used to put tape all the way around a diaper at night to keep it on. Also, footie pajamas with the feet cut off so you can put it on backwards and zip it up the back until the kiddo is night trained.

Also, footie pajamas with the feet cut off so you can put it on backwards and zip it up the back until the kiddo is night trained. The tape was the first thing I tried, but he squirmed his way out somehow. I am considering the backwards pajama route, but am pretty sure he will lose his shit when I try and put him in there. I honestly think the poop was a one time thing brought on by the sudden increase in potty discussions. I do feel like I just need to buckle down and potty train, but I would pay a significant amount of cold hard cash to outsource this. A couple thousand at least. He peed in the potty once yesterday when I parked him in front of his tablet so I could cook dinner. Not a horrible first day, I suppose.
