Thanks leatherpants and auri! I was wondering what to do about the time zones. I guess we’ll just have an earlier bedtime and wake ups for a couple days. That makes sense about months 7-9. After this weekend the next travel we have planned will be Thanksgiving and Christmas, and he’ll be 9 and 10 months by then, so hopefully it gets a little easier.

Also going away for one night last weekend fucked up sleep for like 3 nights. I remember reading with L was this age that 7-9 months is the worst time to travel with babies because they are so sensitive to routine changes. I remember reading that because L was 7.5 months when we went to Mexico and it was the worst trip of my life. Neither of us slept, I was alone with him in the hotel room pretty much all day and night trying to get him to sleep, it was just a fucking nightmare. The only time he slept was during the ceremony of the wedding we went for. And it took forever to get him back to a liveable routine when we got home. Anyways, just a fun trip down memory lane there. Weeeee I am praying this does not happen to me in November. I travelled to Mexico with my family (no DH since he had just gotten a teaching job) and it was me in the room each night and for every nap. It wasn't the greatest but I had some help. This time DH is coming so we will be able to switch off with DS2 and hopefully dump DS1 on my parents/their friends to get some relaxing done. We may also lie and say he is 4 to put him in the kids club a few times. He is tall and has a very developed vocabulary so we figure if we all agree to it we hustle need to make him believe he is 4 for a week. Hopefully he’ll be more willing to be older than younger for a few days! I vividly remember my aunt taking me and my cousins to a festival and making me say I was 5 instead of 6 so my ticket was cheaper. As a 6 year old, you can imagine how unhappy I was to have to be 5 for the day.

It was our wedding anniversary last Friday so we spent the day with the girls where we got married and then went out to a fancy dinner. OMG SO good.
But my ILs broke the girls so they were both demons all Saturday. I also got food poisoning from food I cooked so the weekend was kind of a bummer.
Sunday we went to this farm thing with friends. I kind of hate going to things like that with people. It was silly expensive to get in and you got nothing for your $ other than a silly haunted house and a hayride. Plus, your time tables never match up. We ended up just sitting around for 45 minutes because they insisted on getting pierogies to eat. I think I'm done doing things like that with other people, unless it's free.

Does anyone have any suggestions?🤔 We have a really cute set from baby gap (courtesy of grandma) but it’s corduroys and a cardigan. Maybe something like that? Also there is (was?) an Etsy store called Noah’s Boytique and they sell onesies that have clips for suspenders and bow ties and it’s so adorable. I like clementine’s too!

Also cornpop, you are totally right about timetables etc. We have one set of friends that’s particularly bad for that and it’s just the most painful to go with them to anything. Did you get to eat perogies though?

Did you get to eat perogies though? No! We had eaten beforehand because I specifically did not want to deal with long lines/crappy food. I got a pretzel just to give E and N something to stuff in their mouths and keep them occupied.

mrsmonogrammed I think this is pretty cute for dressy/casual that’s not jeans. And I love Old Navy. I almost bought this yesterday. For some reason my order didn't go through but the sale today is better than yesterday so maybe I will add it.

So we basically live on the trans Canada highway and they are dobuling the bridge just down the street. DH and I just saw the steel post they will be pile driving tomorrow being driven past our house and it is the first of many. What are the chances DS2 can sleep through that?

dd2 has been napping for 2.5 hrs...this is a fluke no? she has a little cold so i’m guessing that’s it. and her sister did not let her nap yesterday. i need to figure out how to keep the older one quiet when i have them both at home (she is at day care today). yesterday was definitely a day that made me question my parenting abilities.

I’ve had my niece and nephew since Saturday. DS can’t fucking handle it. 3 is ridiculous as is, but he’s still adjusting to having a mobile baby around and sharing attention, so this is overkill for him. Today is especially bad behaviour wise so I’m just done. Six more days.

Happy Monday ladies! Has anyone heard from Rama and yianna lately? I was just thinking about them the other day And shit is about to get real in this house. B can now go from sitting to getting on his tummy and his army crawling is real. I better start baby proofing. I’m here just super sucky at checking in and posting... everything is good here - Alina is 6 months officially and isn’t interested in regular food yet 😂😂

If you figure it out, let me know! DS1 is so fucking loud when I’m trying to get the baby down. Jigsaw puzzles together works for a little bit but not long enough.

My pedi said at 6mos DD2 should really be getting three regular meals. My eyes rolled so far back in my head. Is any one actually doing this? She gets real food at dinner and whenever I’m eating something that she can have. I know Im being a little lazy but really. Give me a damn break.

I’m the worst mom ever. I was clipping L’s fingernails and I clipped his skin. We both cried.

I'm doing 2 regular meals for her and she would be happy with 3 but I just don't have the time in the morning. I can barely feed myself breakfast lately :/ And unfortunately for the baby she can't do protein bars in the car on the way to school. I could start packing solids for her to have breakfast at school though. clementine we've all been there. You're not the worst mom by a long stretch, promise.

We've been doing three meals since 6 months but N is REALLY into food. At this point I think she'd cry if we skipped a meal lol. She gets breakfast and lunch when I feed DS and then my husband feeds her dinner at around 5:15 when he gets home.

clementine aww I'm sorry that happened. I remember my husband clipping DS's finger when he was a baby. You're not the worst mom and he's already forgotten about it!
