Well, we had a pretty good run of only once a night wake ups all last week... then we went out of town for the weekend and now his sleep is crap again. We’ll be out of town the next two weekends too, so I’m prepared for the next few weeks to involve very little sleep.
We did find that L really likes (or is really confused by?) the Star Spangled Banner. We played it in the car on the way home yesterday and he was basically frozen, just staring wide eyed with his mouth hanging open. Then this morning when he was screaming in the car on the way to daycare, I played it and he stopped crying. Magic.

DD1 was obsessed with “Dangerous Woman” by Ariana Grande for a very long time.

After weeks of a super early wake up (anytime between 4am-5:30am) where I usually just go in to feed him, H heard the monitor first on Friday morning and went in to replace the paci and rub his belly. O fell back asleep until 6:30! And he’s been sleeping until 6:30 the past few mornings as well🙌🏻

clementine That’s so funny about the star spangled banner. I’m sorry he doesn’t like to sleep on vacation though. DD is home all week because of fall break. We’re going to the dr today to get her flu shot. Might also take her to get her hair cut.

I don't know why this baby makes sleep so difficult with me. My family was over on Saturday, I was nursing her and she fell asleep. My sister got her so I could eat. She wrapped her in a blanket, laid her in her PNP and she slept for an hour. I just did the same thing and she instantly woke up. Ugh. She sleeps so much better for everyone else but me.

clementine, that is hilarious about L and the Star Spangled Banner. I was MIA last week. No particular reason why other than being busy. Sleep is so-so in my house. Sometimes L sleeps through the night and other times he doesn't. Last night was off/bad because both my boys fell asleep in the car on the way home from my parents house, so neither one wanted to go to sleep at bedtime. DH has worked the 2-midnight or 4-midnight shifts the last 3 nights so I was on solo bedtime duty the last three nights (with a bit of help from my mom on Saturday night). I am glad he can take over at least one of the boys' bedtimes tonight.

E didn't have preschool yesterday so I had to watch both kids while WFH. That was....not fun. I literally ran out the door to buti as soon as we were done eating dinner after my H got home. We had a great fall weekend though! Pumpkin picking, our local street fair and my brother and his girlfriend were up to visit. The girls loooove his girlfriend so much. E wanted her to hold her hand and hold her and do their hair the same. She's never done that with anyone that wasn't me. It was sooo sweet. And nice to have a break from the newly clingy 3YO for a day.
I forget if I posted this, but I decided I'm going on a 4 day buti yoga retreat in April. My teacher and 2 other's are doing it. It's so outside my comfort zone but..I'm excited. And terrified. But mostly excited.

Oddly my son was like this with Justin Timberlake's "Suit and Tie" when he was this age. LOL. We spent a lot of road trips listening to that stupid song on repeat. Babies are funny.

cornpop , your retreat sounds AMAZING! I'm so proud of you for taking the time for you! We had a great fall weekend here too. We rented a house in our favorite beach town with my parents and brother and his fiance. Cooked and ate a lot, walked along the beach, went on a hayride for pumpkins, did a tasting at a winery/vineyard, and spent a lot of time carving pumpkins and playing board games. We passed the baby around and around, she was super cheerful, and DS was a little dreamboat all weekend. Basically just perfect. Limited time only pics:

calendula that looks like an awesome weekend! i hope it’s ok that i’m just jumping in. nothing really getting in the way for me posting, just regular life stuff. going to be better about it we are recovering from stomach bug in the polson house. luckily the baby didn’t catch it, but so much puke and laundry. not quite sure where it came from. i need to get dd1’s halloween costume ordered today - she wants to be...purple. so i’m just getting purple clothes with a purple tutu.🤷♀️ so random. i’ve been asking her for weeks and that’s been the answer every time so i figure it’s safe to lock it in. last year she wouldn’t even put on her costume. dd2 is going to be a bee - hand me down. i would love to do a fun family theme but i’m just not feeling super creative at the moment

Baby Mermaid is a giant. She’s in the 90th percentile for height! For reference, MH comes from very short people. I’m taller than his dad by a few inches and I’m only 5’5” We are quite surprised!

calendula, it looks like you had a wonderful weekend. polson, purple is my favorite color so I like the idea of being purple for Halloween. ArielMermaid, my baby is in the 93rd percentile for height, but both MH and I are tall (I am 5'11" and he is 6'3" or 6'4"), so that explains his height. My brother and I are both taller than both of parents, so maybe baby mermaid will be like that too. L is a pro at army crawling. He is so close to crawling on his hands and knees. He gets up in to the crawling position and rocks and sometimes does a bunny like hop. It is so cute. DS1 decorated the outside of the house with all the little and big pumpkins we have yesterday. It was so cute listening to him tell why he was putting the pumpkins and gourds where he was putting them. He left a piece of Indian corn he had on the side of the driveway so that Jumpy squirrel (from Curious George) could eat it.

It’s also time to stop being lazy and actually feed this girl some solids. Boo. So messy. I was so chill with DD1 and let her make a mess and experiment and try to use utensils. Now I’m so tired and all I see is more work for me.

DD isn't messy at all at the table but her blow out diaper situation has escalated dramatically. I cringe when I see her face get red....like how out of hand is this one going to be?

I forgot to feed solids because I’m busy and feel bad. He is finally seeming a bit interested so I should make more of an effort.

My life revolves around a teething coughing baby ATM. But I wish I knew what's up with the projectile vomit.

For those of you whose are dealing/have dealt with reflux... what meds are your LOs on?
To make a long story short, L has been on Zantac for reflux for about 3 weeks. We’ve seen an improvement (less spitting up, less coughing while nursing), but we just found out that he is silently aspirating liquids while bottle feeding and likely also while nursing. I’m wondering if the reflux and aspiration are connected, and if trying meds that actually reduce the reflux would help more vs Zantac which just reduces the discomfort related to reflux.
Another question: Per recommendation after the swallow study, we are now using Dr. Brown’s bottles. Does anyone else use Dr. Brown’s? The directions say you can’t warm the bottle with the vent parts in. Do you just warm it without anything on top at all? Or warm it with the nipple and collar, then put in the vent parts after?

This is happening to us too. L has had blowouts with 4/5 dirty diapers in the last few days. Sometimes it’s not even that much, but it’s always leaking out the sides.

clementine O is on ranitidine (2x/day). And we use dr browns bottles when I’m at work, but without the vents🤷🏼♀️ Do you have the traditional ones or the Options ones?

We got the traditional ones because that’s what the therapist recommended. I saw the Options ones, but the nipples looked a little different and I wasn’t sure if the vents were part of the reason she recommended them? Maybe to help with reflux?

I think I fucked up.
TMI I was exercising the other day and I think I might have had some sort of pelvic prolapse. I have an appointment tomorrow to figure it out. I’m trying not to panic. But kind of feel panicked.

ArielMermaid that does not sound pleasant... i’m sorry, i hope it’s nothing dropped dd1 off at daycare and got grocery shopping done. dd2 is napping and i need to get some cleaning done. i feel like i run around like a chicken with my head cut off only for it to look like nothing got done. i might bring dd2 in for first round of flu shots today. i’m thinking it might be better to bring the older one by herself? i don’t really want to have to make 2 trips but i’m nervous as to how she’s going to handle it.
