Thank you charliefox ! That is such good info and so so helpful!
We haven't had any testing done yet but because both losses were blighted ovum situations (everything growing except a baby) it seems that we were likely just catching bad eggs. I am sure they will ask for a bunch of tests. We have gotten pregnant twice in the past 14 months so I'm hoping we won't need ICSI but I like what you did with signing the consent in case nothing takes on its own. I think I will ask to go this route as well.
I also like your idea, depending on the number of embryos, to do a fresh transfer of a few and get the rest tested. My problem is that the past two that have stuck have been "bad"...so maybe I just need to suck it up, be patient for an extra month, and just go with an FET to make sure we are transferring good ones. I would hate to go through the process only to have a bad one stick and then be right back here in the same position 8 months from now. And you're right. Based on our ages and the past two losses it might be the smartest decision. I was planning on only trying a single egg transfer to start but maybe I should start off with more than one. With age factors that might be the smartest option. I don't mind paying OOP if it means we get the best shot at it. Being 39 already I feel the clock ticking down. Do you know if there's a better chance of the transfer being successful if we do the testing first?
Because we are planning on going straight to IVF is there even any need for me to do and HSG? My tubes won't be used for this anyways so would that even be necessary? I'm sort of hoping we can just jump right in ASAP.
I feel like there was something else I was going to ask you but I'm drawing a blank...
