Sigh. DS is 6 weeks old. Since yesterday-maybe day before-we've had one green poop after the other. A few yellow poops mixed in. I guess a tiny bit mucuosy? No visible blood, no congestion, no skin issues, occasionally spits up (1x a day but not every day), no vomit. Is a gassy kid. Gained 3lbs his first month.
He definitely struggled with my letdown at first. He's gotten better but there are still a decent number of times he sputters and struggles with it. I've checked kellymom and read about green poop. Is it time to cut the dairy? ðŸ˜
ETA-we had occasional ones before but never this regular. Has the milk protein just finally built up enough in my system if this is what it is?

Could it just be hind/fore milk issues? Or a stomach bug or congestion? How is he nursing? Like awhile on one side than a little on the other or even on each side?

i wouldn't worry about it. it can be a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance (can happen during growth spurts), or baby fighting off a bug. it can also happen later on during teething. from what i understand, an allergy would cause there to be frequent blood. i remember DS2 had a few bouts of greenish poop- it always went away within a week. my guess is that it will pass.

My DS1 had green poops starting at about that age that lasted all the way through when we started solids. I got all obsessed with foremilk/hindmilk but that wasn’t it because I never had an oversupply and it continued even when he was taking mixed expresses milk from bottles at daycare. He was happy and gaining weight well though, so ultimately I decided to stop worrying about it. My pediatrician agreed. So basically I wouldn’t worry if the baby is otherwise well!

My DS 16weeks did this right at that age. I think it lasted for about 3 weeks and then his poops went back to normal. I say wait it out if he isn't showing any other signs of something going on
