I've been having bouts of feeling nervous and a little fearful of labor and delivery. How's everyone else holding up? Seems totally normal for how far along we are now!! I'm nervous about the potential to have to go through back labor again, but so far it isn't getting to me too much. Thankfully even with the back labor I had a positive L&D experience with DS1 so I'm really not afraid of going through it all again.

My parents leave tonight for 2 weeks in Ireland. Originally my dad was coming home 9/8 and immediately leaving for a work conference for a week and my mom was going from Ireland to Spain for another 10 days. They are roughly on the way to the hospital whereas my ILs are the opposite direction so I was bummed they may not be here for baby since my plan was to drop DS1 off at their house.
Well turns out the people my mom wanted to visit in Spain were no longer going to be free to hang out while she was there so she cancelled the Spain part of her trip and will be coming home 9/8. So my dad will be gone, but assuming I don't deliver before mid-38 weeks my mom will be home now. My parents are much more go with the flow than my ILs so I feel better about dropping DS off at my parents for an unknown length of overnight stays as opposed to my ILs house so I was happy to find out my mom was going to be home sooner.
It will be interesting to see when DS2 arrives though. My dad was gone for this same conference when DS1 was born so I'm curious if my kids will go 2 for 2 arriving while my dad is out of town.

Nymeria I’m glad your mom will be around when you deliver now - that takes some stress off for sure. Both my IL’s will be on a cruise in spain when my baby is most likely going to be born, and my dad will be in Nashville so it’s just my mom who will be nearby. She’s thrilled to be the sole grandparent to get to see the fresh baby lol.

I've been having bouts of feeling nervous and a little fearful of labor and delivery. How's everyone else holding up? Yes! I'm feeling anxious about labor but even more so about having 2 under 2 and how it'll all work. Whenever DD is having a rough day I just don't know how I'll do it with another baby. It's nice knowing an end date when I'll be induced but that also makes my anxiety rise as that date gets closer and closer 😬

Depending on the day this baby decides to arrive we could have 5+ options for DD or possibly just one/none 😬. Thankfully dd's in home daycare provider has offered to keep her as long as needed until someone is able to get her.

brenna SAME with DS's rough days! I really start freaking out about what I'm going to do with two those days. It's hard to imagine the logistics of it all. I anticipate a LOT of tv time. And I'm gonna try to be ok with that! It is what it is. Luckily DS loves tv and it holds his attention really well.

Speaking of child care during delivery, our neighbors are coming over for dinner tonight and to learn DS's bedtime routine and where everything is around here if we need them 😊 So we'll have my Aunt and Uncle and our neighbors "on call" for baby time.

I'm definitely feeling anxious as we're getting closer. It's coming from a lot of places.
-I'm anxious about ruining my big kid's life (unfounded, I know). -I'm anxious about the four of us finding our new normal. -My OB asked again whether I wanted to be induced and I scrunched my face because I'm anxious about another shitty induction but also have zero desire to go past my due date.
The only thing I'm not worried about is what'll happen with DD while I'm in L&D. My mom always drops her off at school, MIL always picks her up. So they'll keep that schedule and MH will most likely spend the evenings and nights with her while I'm in recovery. The only goal was to keep her schedule as close to normal as possible.

The soccer league we've had DD in for the last three years called late last night to say they were canceling the fall season because they didn't have enough kids sign up. It's late to sign up for most of the surrounding leagues but we found one that was still open for sign ups. The old one was convenient because it was local to our suburb and literally around the corner from our house. The new one will practice in a neighboring suburb and then play games at a sports complex further away...it's also more expensive. So I'm anxious about that too and also pissed that they waited so long to cancel and they'll have to issue me a paper check. Part of me feels like they'll be shady AF and they won't pay out for one reason or another.

Ugh that sounds really frustrating ftwr . Hope you actually get your money back. Me too. The league has really gone down hill the past few years and it's their own fault. It's poorly managed, they got into a fight with the city so the city won't let them play n their property anymore, the fields aren't maintained, the other coaches aren't...that great. I mean, they're volunteers but there are some coaches I'd absolutely not want me kid to play for. I was naturally very sad when I didn't coach this last season because of being pregnant and sore. So, at the end of the day I'm kind of happy we were forced to find another league. I think we'll like it a lot more than the current one and I think the coaches will focus a lot of skills development and team play, unlike most of the coaches in the other league. We were just sticking with them out of convenience.

My AC went out. I've got a call in to a service company but MH has extra capacitors in the garage so I'm hoping he can fix it and save us the service fee + parts + labor.

With DD, I wasn't nervous at all. Right now, I'm petrified. Yup. I was just excited but I wasn't really prepared for how a tiny person would change my entire life so that was overwhelming. Now I know what it's like and this time around we'll just be fitting the baby into our lives but it has me totally freaked out.

ftwr sounds like the switch to the new league will be for the best! Hopefully there are no issues with the refund situation. Re induction - With the reaction you're describing, I'd say keep waiting on scheduling anything at this point. I think you'll know when you're ready to schedule something if that's the way things play out 😊 The desire to be done may start to override any anxieties you may have! Hope you can get your AC fixed asap!

But then again, if at 40 weeks I'm sobbing on the exam table in his office, we may just go ahead lol

The crib mattress came with all of our Amazon orders this weekend. I got a Green Guard certified one that should have less "harsh chemicals", but it's still smelly.... I even put it outside today to air out cause I feel like I can smell it whenever I walk into/by the nursery. I don't remember this with DS's mattress at all and it's the same brand....

Maybe open some windows and turn on a fan and it'll air itself out in a few days?

Crap, I should have unwrapped ours when it arrived a couple months ago. It could have been airing out this whole time. I feel like even going for more green options mattresses are still something that smell at first. I don't remember DS1's being too bad, but he didn't sleep on it for a few months anyway.

ftwr too hot to open any windows! So outside that stink bomb shall go! We have covered veranda out back so it's protected, and I'll bring it back in in the evening. Then put it out again in the am! Haha! Nymeria unwrap that puppy when you get home tonight! And true, that baby won't be sleeping on it for months, so it should have plenty of time to air out. I just really want to make the bed!! 😁

Currently sitting at my OB's office (2+ hours in) and I guess there is a complication with the cord and my ob mentioned possibly inducing this week. She's talking to the high risk Dr. Right now and I'm getting very anxious. Also GBS+ which I'm not really worried about but just adds to this great appointment.
Edit: and I'm not dilated so it will probably be a long induction. I'm so nervous now.

It looks like I'm going to be induced tonight! 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬 Totally not ready for this. And now I'm all emotional about dd's last night as an only child and I'm just trying to get my mind wrapped about this. I thought I had 2 more weeks!
