All this baby wants to do eat today is eat. It's only 4pm here and she has eaten 9 times since we were up for the day at 6:30am. I got a decent 1.5 hour nap from her this morning but other than that she is eating every hour. She eats, sleeps for about 30 minutes, wakes up for about 10-20 minutes for a diaper change and short floor time and then back to eating again. She must be going through a growth spurt. I hope our night isn't like this. Oh I hope she has enough for the night now! She ate at 5, then again at 6:30, slept for 30 minutes and woke up hungry. I fed her a 1/2 tbsp of baby oatmeal mixed with 1 oz BM which she ate most of. She nursed about half an hour later and is just wide awake now at 8:30. I really hope she sleeps tonight.

Mh is holding her and trying to rock her to sleep and she keeps turning on him and trying to latch. 😂 Guess it's eating time again.

cp3, I'm sorry, that sounds miserable. Find a good show to watch and start chugging water.

My MLM ignore game is strong dizzycooks. If they comment or message me I just pretend it never happened. 😂

dizzycooks I also unfollow and ignore. I hate MLMs with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns. I am really resentful that people choose to exploit their friendships for profit and miss seeing pictures of their kids, vacations, house projects, etc. And as a working mom, the "mompreneur" "momboss" shit I find offensive also.

One of my 3 year old patients saw my pump on my desk and asked what it was. I told her it was something for work. She said “No, I know what that is. It’s for your booby milk for your baby.” 😂😂 can’t slip anything past her! I forgot she has a 3 month old brother so I’m sure she’s all too familiar with nursing/pumping. She’s also way too smart for her own good.

Also haven't started solids because I'm avoiding real poops. And BLW. But at least half because of poops.

DS1 absolutely LOVED being back at preschool today! I also had a warm fuzzy moment at drop off where one of the other moms (of our special ed preschool class) commented on how clear his speech is. Given the struggles we've had and all the speech therapy he's had, it was just...absolutely wonderful to hear someone outside of our family/therapy bubble say that.
He also did awesome with riding the bus home. I'm still a little anxious about that part, but they sit in car seats with a 5pt harness, there's an extra aide on the bus, and the kids have picture IDs. So, it seems like a very safe and secure setup.
It was also nice to get some quiet, uninterrupted face time with DS2. It was a good morning, and honestly, I think we'll all do better now that preschool has started back up.

Oh right, now I remember what else I was going to say.
Our local school districts (seriously, like 5+ of them, spanning at least 2 counties) are striking. School was supposed to start tomorrow, but a new contract hasn't been agreed on yet. I'm just hoping it comes to a resolution quickly, this is really messing up the beginning of the year for a lot of people, but thankfully parents are generally supportive and despite the inconvenience of having to find short notice childcare, they want the districts to pay the teachers fairly.

katietopaz That’s awesome! I’m glad he’s excited to be back in preschool! And what a nice compliment from that other mom.

So the three year old is being a complete handful. He cries every time I drop him at daycare (he was fine up until a few weeks ago) and he is on a meal strike at home. He isn't exactly a big kid (tall and skinny) so I don't want him not eating but the fight just isn't worth it when it takes FOREVER to finish anything that isn't a sweet. Any advice?

Do any of you use Up&Up diapers? I thought they were daytime/nighttime use, but now I see they also sell nighttime? Do you buy both? I bought a box of overnights but then saw mixed reviews on the target website so I returned them. It seemed to be an even split between saying they are better, worse, or no different than the regular ones. I can’t find anything on the packaging that makes them seem different than the regular ones, which also claim 12 hours of dryness.

We tried peas today. He shouted at me when I was taking too long to load up the spoon so I think he liked them.

Is he eating a ton at preschool? My kid isn’t very hungry at dinner time because they graze all day at day care so Dinners for him is usually a snack plate. ETA: he also won’t eat plain cooked veg so I purée it in with apple sauce and he has no clue.

So I went to bed at 11 tonight bc she called and we worked out a few things that needed handling. Ds woke at midnight and then again at two. He wouldn’t settle back down at two so I went up to get some Tylenol thinking it must be teeth. Dd3 is crying in bed and then pukes. I put ds in his crib, deal with her and the. Take ds back downstairs thinking it’s a one off thing, dd3 are a ton of fruit at a party last night. Nope. Now we are camped out in the bathroom learning how to hit the toilet. My laundry game is going to get a workout in the morning. She’s suppose to have her first day of zoo camp and now she’ll miss it. I’m super bummed. And tired. So so tired.

I may need to try smoothies but I think it is a control thing.

We are going to a wedding this weekend and since I'm wearing a dress I already have, I took the opportunity to splurge on some Jack rogers wedges I've been eyeing forever. They're so pretttyyyyy. Too bad I'll also be accessorizing with the post partum bald spot and receding hairline I've got going on

PSA Target is having a sale on Graco carseats.
One of the convertible carseats we have for Emaline (that we really love) is on sale for $89. Part of me feels like I should buy them for Noelle but the other part of me is wondering why it's sooo cheap. Like...it has really good reviews but it's older. Would you guys buy it?

Daycare called and said L has a 102.1 fever and has to go home. They said he’s been really fussy all morning, but has been eating well and isn’t really showing any other signs of illness. I called the pedi and of course they want me to bring him in. I feel like I’d rather be safe than sorry and have them check for ear infection or anything else, but is it really necessary to bring him in every time he has a fever? At what point do you decide to see the pedi vs monitoring at home?

At what point do you decide to see the pedi vs monitoring at home? I think it is age, degree of fever and length of time specific. At 102 you should be taking L in but not 100 if it has just started at his age. If it was above 100 for a couple of days you should take him in. I have to go get DS1 soon too from daycare. Apparently he is acting fine but his mucous is thicker than they would like. I was not willing to wake DS2 up to go get him. I hope L feels better soon and that it is nothing serious.

That all makes sense. I’m glad I took him, but ears, throat, and lungs are all good. Pedi said it’s likely a virus, to expect a couple more days of fever, and to manage with Tylenol/Motrin. Hope your DS is okay and isn’t coming down with something!

I think it depends on how long you’re going to leave her in the convertible. DD1 is in a FF booster with 5 point harness and she just turned 3. DD2 will get DD1’s convertibles when she’s done with the bucket. The boosters are usually much cheaper and they take up SO MUCH less room. DD1 can get herself in and out which has been a nice change as well. It’s really a preference thing. There’s nothing wrong with those car seats. They’re just getting rid of stock - likely updating colors and extra features. No safety issues I’m sure.

Ahh 5:00 am. My favorite time to clean up vomit and try to give Tylenol to a screaming baby.

Ahh 5:00 am. My favorite time to clean up vomit and try to give Tylenol to a screaming baby. I did that yesterday. You have ALL my sorrys. 😞 So I let ds cry himself to sleep after three hours of inconsolable baby time. It took almost an hour but he’s now sleeping. Everyone is awake and our day typically starts around now. I’m tempted to wake his little butt up and help get him with the program by resetting his clock a bit. Will I regret that? My typically thought it never ever ever wake a baby.

O woke up squirming at 4:44 but luckily fell back asleep after eating. Today is DD’s Meet the Teacher for her preschool so we’ll get ready and head to that this morning. I’m thinking a target run afterwards.
