What's on your list for postpartum care items to buy?

I know I need to buy night and day maxi pads and some Tucks pads, but the rest I'm drawing a blank on!
I anticipate I'll get the following from the hospital: -Some super jumbo pads -Mesh underwear -Some peri bottles -More Tucks -Dermoplast spray -A couple waterproof bed liner squares.
Am I missing something?! I made a couple padsicles last time, but I don't really remember using them. But maybe some witch hazel to make some of those again.

My list is basically the same, even pared down a bit.
I have: - Pads, in varying absorbancies - Tucks pads - Peri bottles - Mesh underwear (leftover from DS1) and sized up cotton granny panties - Colace stool softener - Waterproof pads (more for use before delivery in case my water were to break in bed or in the car, but I did sit on one post-partum for a few days just in case)
I also have a bottle of Earth Mama Angel Baby bottom spray also left over from DS1 that I never touched so I don't actually expect to use it again this time either.
I personally have no interest in padsicles and stopped icing completely after being discharged from the hospital. If I'm still sore at home this time I'll just wrap a first aid ice pack in a towel and stick it between my legs.

Last time I left the hospital with:
- 2 peri bottles (asked my nice nurse for a 2nd since we have a multi-floor house) - Generic Tucks pads (since once they're in your room and open they're yours to keep) - Heavy menstrual pads (they had run out of their official post-partum pads so these weren't really any better than what I can buy at Target) - Mesh underwear
The peri bottles and Tucks pads got a lot of use, but I never touched the hospital pads or mesh underwear once I got home. I much preferred the Always Infinity pads I had bought and switched to regular cotton underwear instead of the mesh stuff since they didn't fit under my yoga pants/capris all that comfortably.

The hospital gave me basically everything I needed besides dermoplast. I already ordered it online because you can only find the antiseptic kind around here. I made padsicles last time but didn't want to mess with them getting wet everywhere so I didn't use them. The best thing my hospital had was diapers soaked in water and frozen. I used soooo many of those!

Ok, thanks ladies! Sounds like I'm good then! I felt like I was forgetting something important. Nymeria yes to extra peri bottles! Def get one for each bathroom in your house! I used them after for cloth wipes for baby so they got a LOT of use! brenna that's how I made my "padsicles" last time - nb diapers wet with just water and frozen. But they just sat in the freezer! My hospital did the same and I used a couple there, but not once I got home. pixiepink24 I'm good on the granny panties cause that's how I roll around here anyways 😉😂

Earth Mama bottom spray (now called Perineal Spray) and Balm are essential. I also made myself a bunch of padsicles last time for the first few days, although I may not want ice by the time I am sent home (last time I went home 8 hours after giving birth). Frida Baby makes a peri bottle called the Fridet Momwasher with an angled spout that looks interesting and easier to use than the ones I used last time around, so I'll probably get a couple of those. Colace/Miralax Breast pads and gel packs Giant water bottle More Nursing nightgowns Making myself a whole bunch of cloth postpartum pads because I had a reaction to Always last time around. I will be cloth diapering anyway so they can be washed together.

Dramaphile I've been making some cloth panty liners!! I also got pretty irritated down there after weeks of wearing pads 😕 I also used Always brand. It was not pleasant and I had to use DS's diaper rash cream to get it under control. I don't think I have time to make postpartum absorbancy pads (plus I wouldn't likely use them much in the future so I don't think I want to dedicate the time), but I was going to try using fleece liners over the top of the pads this time to help.

I also used the giant Always pads. But after I had DD I discovered their infini-foam or flex foam pads which are so thin and flexible. They're all I use now so I'll probably buy more of those...or some Depends lol

ftwr I definitely did NOT forget about my pad rash 😂 Laugh-y face there, but it was so awful!! I've had issues with Always panty liners in the past and had to stop using them. The super thin flex foam ones are what I used last time. I'm debating if I should try a different brand (I switched to Carefree brand liners years ago), but I like how thin those flex foams are! Regardless, I'll try the fleece liners to be safe and protect my poor bits. ETA: I've also considered Depends! I've heard good things about them being comfortable and easy postpartum!

Fleece liners aren't a bad idea though. They sound better than regular pads, that's for sure.

ftwr - Always Infinity. That's what I bought last time and again this time. No reaction to them for me and I like how thin they are.

Always infinity pads definitely cause reactions in some people, not just postpartum. I can’t use them. I bought a bunch of 100% cotton pads that are bleach free for postpartum. I bled for 12 weeks with ds1 and 9 weeks for ds2 so I’m not trying to do that much laundry lol.
Tucks aren’t sold here and weirdly neither is witch hazel in liquid form, but I found some online so I made my own tucks.
I also have an herbal postpartum salt bath mixture to make to help with healing. I had pretty gnarly tears with each boy, so this is both soothing and helpful for healing.

We went shopping today. DD picked out DS's going home outfit. I bought depends and witch hazel cloths because Target didn't have Tucks? I also need to track down the regular Dermoplast so I'll probably go to Walgreens tomorrow. I also bought another pair of leggings. I'm going to keep a bag at work with leggings and a depends lol

tbirdlove, I may do fleece liners, too, so if I am feeling lazy I have options. I've been using some cloth pads I made for bladder leaks and they work really well. Last time I had to try a bunch of brands and I hated the cotton disposables because they did't stick to my underwear right and always bunched up.

When I had DD they sent me home with everything I needed, I still have some leftover so I’m banking on that and whatever they send me home with this time.

The nurses showed my mom the supply closet and that was their greatest mistake. My mom took sooo many mesh panties and pads! I’m hoping she finds the closet again. 😂
