Hi I'm Cupofjoe, 2 kids ds is 3.5 and dd is almost 2. My husband is great. Helps out around here and does his fair share but I'm grumpy and take it out on him and I need to figure out what my deal is.
Ok I sorta kinda don't really go here..but hear me out.
I work once in a while maybe a few times a month. I should be happy Bc really I have the best of both worlds. I get to have so much time with my kids but I work enough to keep my license up to date. But I find myself not so happy at times. After a lot of thought I'm wondering if it's a sense of accomplishment that I'm needing. Like if I was working full time I'd be moving up the ladder so to speak and getting recognition there (or I'd like to think so anyway). At home the dishes are endless and I never find the bottom of the laundry pile. I think I'm raising good people but really we don't get the proof of that for 18 years or so right? Does anybody else feel this? or am I out in left field alone like an oddball? I haven't worked in a while so maybe this is just a sign I need a day out or a break.
I hope it's okay that I've posted here. I don't post much (or at all).

I know what you mean. Look on the bright side, at least you have your job. I've been trying to find something on & off for years with no luck. Sometimes I would like to feel like I'm doing "something" more than just being a mom but all I can do is apply until someone wants to give me a chance. It sucks because there is times that I feel like I went to school for nothing, like my degrees are wasting away but oh well, what are you going to do right?

You're right. I am super lucky to get to work as much as I do. Not that I think I'm making a huge difference in my field but at least it's a placeholder for when my kids are bigger and I decide to go back full time. Maybe I'm just have an off day or week. Thank you for replying so I don't feel like I'm completely on my own here.

Of course you can post here! And your feelings are yours and they are valid.
I think everyone gets burned out sometimes. Working moms and SAHMs. It happens.

Thank you! I feel like I'm in some weird space in between being a working mom and being a stay at home mom.
