Leg day kicked my butt. I switched out to a lighter weight on the second round for some of the sets. My form falls apart if I try to push too hard.

Week 2 legs done. Just barely. I upped my weight from last week and that last round wasn't pretty.

Somehow I've broken a rib Oh no! I hope you heal up fast, that's horrible. thanks. I'm not quite sure how it happened. I've had a cough for a couple days and I once broke a rib in a similar spot from having a bad cough and rapidly sitting up/twisting in my sleep so as not to cough on H while in bed. I'm wondering if I've done that again. I also had a nasty fall on a balance beam as a kid and broke a few ribs on that side and I'm wondering if this one just never healed properly.

I've got two days left of the 21 day fix. I haven't seen any weight loss, but I've lost an inch off my waist plus I feel stronger. After the kids go back to school, I might try another round or move to something else. I don't know if I can commit to the 80 day, though. I also may just throw in some of the 21 day workouts a few days a week along with my cardio from now on.

I also may just throw in some of the 21 day workouts a few days a week along with my cardio from now on. I've probably said this a million times but what I like about 21DF/80DO is that there's not a long list of things you *can't* eat, it's more focused on what you *should* eat, and how much. I always make sure to put my green containers on my plate first and focus on eating those first. In P1 of 80DO, I almost never can finish what's on my plate, which I'm sure is an indication of mindless eating before I started (and will probably change in P2 haha). I'm stubborn so I don't like a lot of "you can't" orders on a fitness or diet plan, but I love vegetables so giving me a giant pile of them and saying, "Eat these, and then you can have this seemingly tiny blue cup full of guacamole as a dip" usually means I fill up on the green container and only eat about half of the blue one.

Cardo flow done.
I think this week I'm going to switch my carb to morning meal. I dont work out until 8 or later. Which means my post workout meal is around 9 or 10. I'm usually not that hungry so I just make a vega shake with banana and almond milk. Which hits the spot.
But in the after noon I'm dragging.

I swapped a 3-mile run/walk for cardio flow. All of those elevation changes make me nauseous, and running has always been super effective for weight loss. I think I mentioned that I joined the 80DO support group and it seems like everyone hates cardio flow days.

For real real broke a rib? Yes Yikes. I'm assuming you can't workout while that heals. How long for recovery?

It definitely gets my heart pumping but doesn't make me almost pass out.

I just dont have the room in my basement for all of the movements and I need to get back to jogging. The 2.25 mile jog I do goes up a hill at the end that would be considered a very fun sledding hill. I need to also get ready for the Turkey trot 5 mile run.

Meal prepping today.
Roasted chicken with carrots and potatoes and one with potatoes and steamed broccoli.
Hard boiled eggs (steamed, why haven't I done this before). Strawberries and blueberries washed and portioned.
Tomato and cucumber salad with feta portioned out (going to add one serving of whole grain crackers on the side).
Just need to make the salmon tonight for a salmon and arugula salad.
I'll probably do the peanut butter chicken edamame noodles one night.
Lentil mushroom stew another. Over mashed potatoes.
Grilled cheese and tomato soup.
Kids will probably get bacon and eggs one night.
Monday will probably be PB and J sandwiches on the way home from soccer.

Finished Total Body Core, day 15 today. I was still sore from leg day/running, but it was nice to work out the aches! I am only going to get through day 17 before my surgery on Thursday, and after that I am not sure what my recovery instructions will be wrt to exercise.

Duck walk can f off. These still kill me every time.
I ordered some cheap cross trainers so that I can use them inside. Plus my running shoes are shot. I need a more fitted shoe for some of the moves compared to my running shoes.
I'm going to try to stay on track with my diet this week. I'm horrible on the weekend because I'm so busy getting things done. I need to prep better for these meals.

Made it through day 10. Cardio always kicks my butt. I was definately dragging this morning.
My core is horrible, so the slider work is almost impossible for me. I usually end up modifying with mountain climbers to keep moving. I figure it's better than just stopping and it continues to work the muscles.

There is all the extra cushioning in a running shoes, and the extra "lift" it creates in the heel puts too much pressure on the front of your foot and can really throw your form off.

I am taking a few days off going into my surgery and recovery. Depending on what my surgeon says, I hope to be back on the wagon by Saturday or Sunday.

@darlene , I'm sorry, I have the memory of a goldfish. What kind of surgery are you having? varicose vein removal (thank you, D1). But they are sort of deeper in my leg and require in-patient/general anesthesia.

@darlene, I hope the surgery goes well and your recovery is quick! I did day 12, legs, this morning. I was *this* close to skipping it but I'm coming down with a cold that I know will be worse tomorrow so I made myself get up and do it. I did one set of Buddha lunges and subbed RFESS for the other two, so thank you for that rec dc2london (I think?)
