Are you getting hungrier the further along we get?
I have been doing the GD diet for about 5 weeks now and I am eating plenty- I am just trying to figure out if I am stuck in this mental place of feeling deprived because I need to be so careful with my diet or if I am actually hungry.
I am struggling, I gained almost all of my weight in the third tri with my 3 year old and so not want to repeat that.
I am current only up 7lbs, and with the GD diet could lose or stay the same. But all I want to do is eaaaaaaat!

Have you tried drinking a glass of water whenever you feel really hungry? I've heard thirst can come across as hunger for a lot of people.
With me it feels like I'm either starving or stuffed. The problem with that is by the time I realize I'm hungry I'm starving and have started to not feel good.
Without having any GD/GD diet experience it seems like after this much time of having to be so careful about what you eat, it could be a deprivation thing. I know personally if I CAN'T have something, that's all I want.

And I do drink a ton of water!

If you could find something that wouldn't destroy the diet but would feel like more of a treat maybe that would help?

Yes I can actually get away with small portions of ice cream, I just try to keep to sparse so I don’t binge. I am just feeling bad for myself today

I’ve found I do better mentally with the GD diet when I allow myself small “cheats” throughout the week. Even if it’s just guiltlessly stealing a few of DH’s fries when we go for dinner. I still get irrationally hungry sometimes when I know I’ve had enough to eat, I think it’s more related to pregnancy in general than GD.

That’s what I was wondering, lately I feel guilty about how hungry I am. Like I am going to mess up this diet, it has its moments where it feels like all I do if plan around this diet. The first couple weeks I felt like a rock star and I had it down. Now I feel hungry and like I am slipping more and more.

I also feel hungry all the time. Like, I need to eat something every few hours. If I eat too much then I feel miserable for a long time then suddenly it clears up and I'm hungry again. I don't know what it is lol

I can relate to this, my life right now revolves around my eating schedule for GD and meal planning for GD. I do not feel overly hungry all the time, but the volume and types of food I have to eat are not my first choice and leave me unsatisified sometimes. I’m sick of large quantities of meats, cheeses, eggs. I eat the same foods every week.

For the first couple of weeks I felt full and satisfied but the last week it’s like I am out of control hungry.

I tend to get very hungry again quickly after breakfast. Then I eat too big a lunch and am uncomfortable for hours. Same again with dinner.
I need to eat less and drink much, much more. I feel too full to drink enough water most days.

tbirdlove I agree, it’s so hard to keep up with water intake.
