I don’t know how to poll from the app so just reply with your answer.
Do you wake your baby from a daytime nap if it’s been over 2 hours (or a certain length of time)?
I definitely wake if 3 hours so she can eat but a lot of the reading I’ve done says not to let them go more than 2 hours for a nap during the day.

This is sort of relevant to my question in the randoms. I don't wake from naps, but he also doesn't normally take very long naps. I just go by the philosophy never wake a sleeping baby. But it doesn't come from any professional source, so I could be doing it all wrong.

I do not wake. I’m team sleep begets sleep.
DS is a miserable bear if woken too soon. He really struggles to eat when he’s overtired even if he’s clearly hungry. I just let him regulate his sleeping and eating. Things seem to be okay at the moment. ::knocks on wood::

I wouldn’t wake unless you’re having a day/night reversal problem.

I do at the 3 hour mark to eat. A sleep consultant spoke at my mom and baby group a couple weeks ago and she said wake to eat after 3 hours but didn’t say anything about a 2 hour nap mark.

I also typically wake after 3-4 hours to feed. she is sleeping great at night (consistent 8-9 hour stretches, up to eat then another 3-4 hour stretch) so she really loves her sleep. sometimes that means crappy day naps though.

We usually get one long nap a day and it’s the second nap so falls around lunchtime. Today she slept for 3 hours and 20’minutes. She woke about an hour into the nap but I nursed her and she went back down. I kept trying to wake her up at 3 hour mark and she was out lol. Most of her other naps are about 45-60 minutes. She tends to wake right around 41 minutes on the dot. Sometimes I can get her back down but if it’s in the afternoon or later it’s a crap nap

I feed every 3 hours during the day so if she sleeps and it is time than yes. It only happened a few times when I was getting her on schedule. Not anymore.

If it is the latter and she ate in between, I reset the clock. M does a quick nap in the morning, a long nap in the afternoon cut with a quick nursing session, and 2 quick naps around 7p and 9p then out for the night around 11p.

My pedi told us to wake DS2 after 3 hours to feed but he did have issues initially with weight gain. I only wake him during the day to feed him but at night but he’s only gone more than 3 hours a handful of times. During the day when I wake him it’s not like he sleeps between feedings, it’s typxially he was awake for awhile after eating and then fell asleep.

Mostly I’m on team don’t wake a sleeping baby, unless LO is consistently sleeping long stretches during the day and short ones at night.
J is 6 weeks. His longest nap is usually 2-2.5 hours. I wouldn’t wake at the 2 hour mark. I’d consider it after 2.5-3 hours if (1) I’m physically uncomfortable and need to nurse and/or (2) it’s the last nap of the day and waking puts us on track for the approximate bedtime desired.
If he had a particularly rough night before, I have encouraged longer naps (keeping him in the wrap instead of transferring, or pumping when uncomfortable instead of waking to nurse) because sleep begets sleep and I don’t want him running on a deficit.

😬 F is 6w. I’m hoping we’re not the only ones on nothing even approaching a schedule yet. She naps in her car seat, swing, bouncer, or on me for 20 minutes here an hour there, etc. Between running around all day every day for DD1’s activities and me trying to get us ready for a cross country move in less than a month things are crazy. She’s doing pretty good at night so hopefully it’s ok.

J falls asleep for daytime naps in the wrap unless we are in the car. He’s not big on comfort nursing so I can’t put him to sleep that way, he’s not doing drowsy but awake yet, and I’ve got a 3y old. The move would mess things up anyway, IMO. Do what works now. Also moving sucks.

I’m trying to remind myself that with DD1 this was how it was at this point and that all worked out fine.

But I was thrilled that she slept from 10 to 4am. Usually in the night it is only an hour-2 hour stretches. I feel like a million dollars today.

L hasn’t slept more than about an hour or an hour and a half at a time since he hit two months, so we have not run into this situation. I definitely would not wake him though unless it was interfering with night sleep.

She wakes at different times every morning so i just do her naps based on her awake time and sleepy cues. I’m desperate to get her on an earlier bedtime but she seems to insist on a 9pm-ish bedtime.

F is 6.5 weeks and he's got a little schedule going naturally. I didn't encourage it, but it works. He wakes between 7:30 and 8, we feed and then get up for the day. He usually is awake for a while and then sleeps for about 30-45 minutes before his feeding at 11-12. After that, he sleeps pretty solidly until about 5 except for a feeding and about a half hour of wakefulness after. After 5 he's usually awake except for another 30-45 minutes, then we have our shower, play, and cuddle around 8, and then he's usually out at about 9:30-10. I dreamfeed between 11-12 and then bedtime.

L is 10 weeks and I do wake her around the 2 hr mark. She'll only nap on us, in the swing, and rarely in the RnP. If she's in the swing she will sleep for 4+ hours and totally screw up night time sleep. I'm trying to do the every three hour feeds that Madymoiselle mentioned but L is not having it. If she's hungry after 2 hours, she will scream herself into a sweaty, shuddering frenzy that takes another 10 minutes to calm down. We can make it closer to three hours than before so I'll keep on keeping on.

She’ll be 13 weeks this week and is still spotty with naps. She doesn’t sleep more than 90 minutes or so at a time during the day. I’m team no wake up though.

I’m on team never wake a sleeping baby. The boys usually take a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. I don’t wake to feed them during the day or at night.
