How old is your LO?
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going?
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with?
4-8 mo Any teeth or signs of teething? Is it affecting BF?
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going?
9-12mo Do you have a BF goal and has it changed since LO was a newborn?
Questions/AW?
GTKY: if you had time/space/energy/money to learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be?

How old is your LO? 15 days
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing exclusively. It's going fine.
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with? I use the Boppy when sitting, the ring sling when eating, and side-lying in the MOTN.
Questions/AW? Nothing right now.
GTKY: if you had time/space/energy/money to learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be? Carpentry would be really neat and useful to know, assuming you had the money to have a full workshop with all the tools you needed.

How old is your LO? 1 month
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing. It’s going well. DS was/is small & has a small mouth so his latch wasn’t the best but it’s getting better. Poor thing spits up so much though and that’s the current struggle.
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with? I always sit on the bed or couch with the boppy. Occasionally I’ll just use a pillow. I use the cradle hold for nursing. I have short arms & feel like I can’t support him well in football or even cross-cradle.
4-8 mo Any teeth or signs of teething? Is it affecting BF?
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going?
9-12mo Do you have a BF goal and has it changed since LO was a newborn?
Questions/AW? Does anyone have suggestions for limiting spit up? Poor DS spits up after just about every feeding sometimes more than once. I feel like sometimes he spits up as much as he eats but of course I don’t know if that’s true. I try to keep him upright for at least 10-15 minutes after he eats but he still spits up. His pedi isn’t concerned but suggested I keep him upright for 45 minutes after feeding which is just not realistic. I’d never get sleep at night and get even less done during the day 😐
GTKY: if you had time/space/energy/money to learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be? I’d love to learn to crochet

MauLoaM0M are you burping mid feed? Do you still have a strong letdown? You can try unlatching after the initial letdown has slowed (for me this is usually ~2min after the feeding has started) and burp then. Gulping that first fast letdown is where my kid gets the most air in his belly.

How old is your LO? - 1 month Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? - nursing, going well. I set out my manual pump yesterday and got an ounce while I was getting ready in the morning, so I guess I’ve officially started pumping. 0-3 moWhat positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with? - mostly cradle. If I’ve got a Boppy handy I’ll use it, probably 30% of the time. Football if the big kid wants my lap while I nurse. Side lying if I feel like bedsharing at night or for naps. DS2 is finally not so floppy so I can nurse in the ring sling. Haven’t figured out how to nurse the side where the rings are, though. Maybe I just don’t..? I didn’t ring sling with my first. Questions/AW? - told my pedi about the study showing nursing moms can take higher levels of vitamin D to increase the levels enough in breast milk to skip vitD supplements in the baby. She hadn’t heard of it & was cautiously excited because she thinks that would be a lot easier for many parents. study link hereGTKY: if you had time/space/energy/money to learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be? - sewing

I think my letdown is strong sometimes as DS will cough or choke at times.

lily , i don't think you can easily nurse on the side with the rings when you have a newborn and are using a cradle position. you have to take the carrier off and switch the rings to the other side. when they can hold up their head, you can nurse them in an upright position and then they can access both breasts.
ETA thanks for the study link. i heard about that in passing but it was nice to look at the actual study. 6400 IU is a lot of vitamin D, though! i think it would be more cost-effective to give baby the vitamin D drops. what are the advantages of not having to give the drops?

How old is your LO? 3 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing. Occasional pumping. Going great.
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with? Typically just use cradle. I tried to use the football hold on him last week when he was refusing one side but he didn’t like that too much. I don’t usually use any props.
Questions/AW? We’re still not taking bottles the best but we’re working on it.
GTKY: if you had time/space/energy/money to learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be? Film photography. I took a class in college and loved it and I so wish I had the space to build my own dark room and learn it all again.

How old is your LO? 10mo
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing and pumping, going well.
9-12mo Do you have a BF goal and has it changed since LO was a newborn? Initial goal was 12mo. It hasn't changed other than deciding I definitely want to continue as long as DS is content.
Questions/AW?
GTKY: if you had time/space/energy/money to learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be? Honestly, I'd like more time/energy to work on my current hobbies: decorative planning, scrapbooking, and Bible journaling.

vvvvvfee personal opinions- compared to the single drop vitD supplement maybe not easier, but the daily mL vitD supplement can be difficult to convince a baby to take, especially an exclusively nursing baby. It’s easier for me to remember to take the vitD when I’m taking my prenatal instead of remembering to give to baby; more so in these early days when LO doesn’t have a routine and we don’t have set places we sit and nurse every day. Some parents are concerned with preserving baby’s “virgin gut” as long as possible- breastmilk only. So this is a way to accomplish that and still get LO the vitD she needs, rather than having them skip it altogether.

lily, thanks. yeah, i was thinking the single-drop stuff. with my 1st two i just put it in a bottle of pumped BM each day once i went back to work. i agree it's hard to remember to do it before that w/o a set routine.

Is this where I confess that I rarely give ds2 the baby d drops? 🤪 Now it would be easier I suppose.

How old is your LO? 9 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing. Going well, other than the occasional nibble recently.
9-12mo Do you have a BF goal and has it changed since LO was a newborn? 12 months is the goal but I'd like to see where we go. I think it will depend on when I decide to start looking for a new job.
Questions/AW? hmm I don't know. I started my own biting thread ha ha. He has gotten better since last week and I've just been trying to pay more attention. Teething is definitely a factor in it too.
GTKY: if you had time/space/energy/money to learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be? I'd love to learn a second language.

When I asked at DDs 15 month appt when I could stop the drops, she said to keep it up indefinitely. Her rationale was everyone is vitamin D deficient so it can't hurt. We do them as part of bedtime and DD likes the taste, so it's fine. I just wonder if all pedis say this or just mine.

How old is your LO? Almost 8months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing at home, pumping at work.
4-8 mo Any teeth or signs of teething? Is it affecting BF? No teeth yet but his gums are bulging so it’s only a matter of time!
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? I’ve been back for awhile and things are good!
Questions/AW? Nope
GTKY: if you had time/space/energy/money to learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be? Sewing and crocheting. Last year I made DS1’s Halloween costume because I couldn’t find a crab costume and that’s what he wanted- it would have gone a lot faster if I was proficient at sewing!

How old is your LO? almost 10 months
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing only since I'm on summer vacation for a few more weeks
9-12mo: Do you have a BF goal and has it changed since LO was a newborn? I hope to make it to at least a year, and then as long as little one would like after that. I weaned DD1 at 15 months because we wanted to try for #2 and my cycle hadn't returned yet but we have no plans to try for #3 anytime soon (if at all) so I'm content just going till DD2 is finished. My personal goal is a year though.
Questions/AW? DD2 will be 10 months when she returns to daycare in August. She will be there 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I used to send in three 5 ounce bottles last spring for her but she wasn't really eating solid food before school let out. I had an oversupply problem so 3 bottles of 5+ ounces wasn't really an issue but I'm fairly certain my supply will not keep up with that now. She loves solids and purees now and eats heartily so I'm not really sure how much I should be sending in (besides the fact that she might not even take a bottle since we haven't practiced this summer).
GTKY: if you had time/space/energy/money to learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be? I love to learn how to cook better. I can make meals and I've taken a cooking class before, but I'd love to spend more time (and money) to really improve what I can do right now.

danvers, DS is taking 12 oz most days at 10mo. Usually split into 6 oz with breakfast and two 3 oz bottles throughout the day. I just send in two 6 oz bags and let them divide as needed. They supplement with formula if he needs more.

danvers, my kids were ok with taking less at that age bc they were happy eating solids-- probably more like 8-10 ounces. i was pumping 2x a day at that point. i would send in 2 bottles and then 1 "meal" of solids, something like yogurt and applesauce.

How old is your LO? 5 weeks tomorrow
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with? Cross cradle with the boppy. I find if I dont hold her head she pops off and takes forever to get back to eating.
Questions/AW? DD is eating approx 7-8 times/day. I know for newborns it’s between 8-12 times/day so we’re OK with the number of times she’s nursing and I’m feeding her on demand, but there are times I dont think we’re even going to hit 7 times/day (she cluster fed around 3 weeks when she was going thru a growth spurt but nothing since). Normal? (I didnt have this issue with DD1-she ate ALL the time)
GTKY: if you had time/space/energy/money to learn a new skill or hobby, what would it be? I would love to increase my knowledge in sewing. I’ve made a few things (Christmas stockings, small tote bags) but I’d love to learn how to make my own clothes-maybe then I’d find something that fits correctly!

kookie3631 is she gaining well and having enough wet diapers? If so, I wouldn't be worried.
