DS2 is about 3 1/2 months. Here recently (like in the last couple of days) he has started to show a preference for the left breast over the right. I wouldn’t say he does it every time but it’s becoming more regular. He only eats from one breast at each feeding. When it’s time for the right side he will scream and fuss and won’t latch. I move him to the left and he eats just fine. Normal? Anything I can do to help? I’ve been pumping the rejected side to help with engorgement and to keep up the supply.

Kid2 preferred right over left. I chalked it up to the right being faster/easier to nurse on as it was the high producer. I also had her adjusted at the chiropractor to make sure it wasn't medical related. She eventually would nurse either side with no issue.

I have a lazy lefty. That side never once got engorged and never once produced more than 1/2 ounce pumping (ok, maybe a couple times in the NICU right after my milk came in and I had a 4lb baby, not the 10lb one my body was expecting).
So I basically fed both kids from the right. Left was basically desert if they needed something.

There’s still plenty of milk on that side. I’m glad to hear others have had similar issues. I don’t remember DS1 going through this.

I weaned DS in January (at 2) and just recently mine look more even. For a long time I had one D and one B.

I had this thought as well.

Do you usually sit in the same chair to nurse at home? You could try swapping your spot a bit - turning the chair to face the other way, sitting on the other end of the couch, etc.
