For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated! 1. How old is your LO? 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3. How does your LO let you know that they'd like to BF? 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing? Any current challenges? Questions for other moms? Non-BFing question of the week: Which TV show that your kid(s) watches is the most irritating? What is your favorite show that they watch?

I’m not tandem nursing so I don’t go here, but DS1 weaned in January & turned 3 in March. DS2 was born 3 weeks ago, and to my surprise DS1 still remembers how to nurse! He only does it when he’s super jealous of the baby - which thankfully has been rare - and he always stops after a swallow or three, but I’m glad those moments of resentment that I am busy with baby becomes moments of connection instead.
Also he had a vanilla milkshake last week and told me it tastes like my breast milk haha

1. How old is your LO? 16 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3-6 times - I'm hoping to drop a pumping session this month but I have to start saying no more to do that. Right now she has her afternoon BM right before I pick her up after work, and then demand to nurse when we're home. So I think we could make the afternoon BM into a snack and just nurse after work. But I need to talk to the nanny about it. 3. How does your LO let you know that they'd like to BF? She asks "Nah?" and will pull at my shirt. 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? 6 months when we first gave her some solids, but 8 months when we started sending them to daycare and she got really into eating. She's eating okay now - her issues with chewing and swallowing are mostly gone, although she still gags and most food she eats is very mushy. She's getting pickier now. Non-BFing question of the week: Which TV show that your kid(s) watches is the most irritating? What is your favorite show that they watch? She doesn't really watch and shows - I'll put on a Muppets song once in a while, like their cover of Jungle Boogie. I think those are cute

1. How old is your LO? 2 1/2 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 1-2 3. How does your LO let you know that they'd like to BF? She touches my chest and/ or says milkies. 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? we started around 6 or 7 months with oatmeal. She's a good eater. She doesn't like veggies unless they are from a pouch.
Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? We are doing great. No issues. 32 weeks. I think DD is starting to wind down a bit with nursing. SHe's been to 1-2 times a day for quite a while but they are shorter now, etc.
Non-BFing question of the week: Which TV show that your kid(s) watches is the most irritating? What is your favorite show that they watch? SHe mostly watches Spirit on Netflix. Also Sesame Street and Daniel TIger. That's about it. I don't mind them.

1. How old is your LO? 14 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3 or 4 3. How does your LO let you know that they'd like to BF? He follows me around yelling at me. He knows the sign for milk but doesn't use it very often. We mostly nurse before sleep anyways. 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? 6ish months. G eats all the food now. He cleans the girls plates after meals.
Non-BFing question of the week: Which TV show that your kid(s) watches is the most irritating? What is your favorite show that they watch? Irritating- My Little Ponies, we no longer watch it. It's just so weird. Fave- Dora the Explorer.

1. How old is your LO? 13 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 6-8? One of these days I’ll count lol 3. How does your LO let you know that they'd like to BF? She goes “eh?” And pulls at my shirt 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? 6 months. She likes food! She just doesn’t eat a whole lot at a time. She still likes pouches a lot but only eats those when we are out and about now.
Non-BFing question of the week: Which TV show that your kid(s) watches is the most irritating? What is your favorite show that they watch? Most irritating is probably Little Baby Bum...though I’m really good at tuning it out. Favorite is probably Blippi

lily, congrats on #2! i just had #3 and DS2 (who weaned 6 months ago) said yesterday that he also wanted boobie milk. i was like sure, why not. he put his mouth on my nipple for a second, took it off, then put it on again, gave me a raspberry, and proclaimed that he was all done. lol

lily, congratulations! babystandish, I'm laughing at "eh?"! Like just one "eh?"? I don't think I've ever heard a singleton "eh" from my kid, they seem to come by the 100s.

1. How old is your LO? 13 months 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 1-5 3. How does your LO let you know that they'd like to BF? We still use the boppy, which stays on the bed, so he usually points to it or he will try and bring it to me. 4. How old was your LO when you introduced solids and how did LO take to them? How is your LO eating now? 5-6 months and he is mostly a good eater but also kind of picky.
Non-BFing question of the week: Which TV show that your kid(s) watches is the most irritating? What is your favorite show that they watch? No shows so far.

Ha! I think DS1 asked more to see what I would say than because he wanted to nurse. His favorite hobby is testing boundaries.

1. 2.5 2. 2-4 3. “I want milky, mommy” 4. We started around 5-6 months. We did BLW with DD1 and wanted to do it with DD2, but she had feeding aversions and we did a lot of purees (she refused anything not breast milk from like 7.5-10 mo). I think her first food was mashed avocado. She’s much better now, but it’s hit or miss. She is picky and has all of her allergy restrictions.
QOTW: I really love tumbeleaf.
