Has anyone tried medical weight loss? Specifically pills prescribed by a doctor. I’m also open to surgery, but not sure I qualify per my BMI, but will talk to someone about it. I’m not interested in hcg. I’m just so fed up and I know I need help. I gave myself a year of going to the gym and trying to eat right and I only lost 20#s. That was barely noticeable, then I got injured and took a few weeks to recover and the weight came back so fast. I would like a doctors help and wanted to know if if anyone has had positive or negative experiences with getting help through a physician. Thanks!

I went the surgery route, and I'm so happy I did. I didn't really go into things with any other options in mind (for a few reasons directly related to my health) but my doctor agreed that was the best option for me.
When I called to make my initial appointment, I told them I wanted a physical and that based on the results, I'd like to talk to the doctor about weight loss options. I have the nicest PCM in the world, and we went through different options and why or why not he thought it would be a good idea. He gave me several referrals to other experts as well, and he started right away in tracking my efforts so that whatever option I chose, I would already have a paper trail for the insurance company.

I am against all those medications that say you can lose weight with the help of them. I think all those meds are a delusion that harms our physical or mental health.
