It is going to be so hot today. Anyone else in this heat wave? Thankfully my dog will be exhausted from the busy day yesterday and won't need to be walked much when I go home for lunch.

Yes. HOT here too. 96° and humid yesterday and our AC stopped working in the early evening 😮 Service call on a Sunday, after hours AND on a holiday was not cheap..... But AC got fixed last night. Very thankful to have been able to get it fixed so quickly. Another hot day today today.

It's 89 here but feels like 96. MH is working outside in pants and a long sleeve shirt today and I feel bad for him. I think I'm going to take a nap on my lunch break.

Last time I was pregnant ours broke over Memorial Day Weekend when it was mid-90's for 3 days straight. We got stuck waiting for parts stores to open Tuesday to get it fixed so that's great yours was taken care of that day!! Totally worth the cost when it's this nasty out!

Our neighbor's son was super awesome and gave up his bedroom window a/c unit so we could cool our bedroom down at least. I spent the whole weekend running errands to be in air conditioned stores or in our bedroom watching TV.

High of 93 where we are and I'm thankful for my over air-conditioned office for once! Not looking forward to having to step outside when I head home

Saw the midwife this morning. Everything went well. I'm measuring right at 22 weeks, which I swear I feel bigger. Lol! I also brought up how I felt after the last centering group and she apologized saying that she would bring the attention to the other midwives to maybe approach the nutrition stuff differently. She also brought up the heart echo thing that came up on the anatomy scan but also said she wasn't too concerned.

pixiepink24 - I'm glad you were able to talk to this MW about how the Centering gathering made you feel. That is definitely the type of thing they should be aware of so I'm happy it sounds like she's taking your concerns seriously.

It's pretty mild here today but is supposed to be getting hot later this week. We got DD a trampoline so it's been nice going outside on it when it's not blazing hot. She always says "mommy jump" and I feel kind of bad because obviously I can't do much jumping. It will be interesting climbing through the little opening in the safety net later this summer when I'm super huge haha.

Oh also I ordered a baby book for this baby last night and I'm super excited to start filling it out. I got one very similar to DD so the second child doesn't feel left out 🙂 (I'm the second child/middle child so I know how sometimes it feels like to be forgotten about 🙂)

I got a Lucy Darling one for DD and want to get the same one in a different design for this baby. Also I need to add more photos to DD's, I don't think I've updated it since before her first birthday....

I just ordered a bunch of photos to update DD's last night and that's what led me to ordering one for this baby. I should put that on my list for this week! Also I so feel you on the third child thing, my baby book is literally one of those 80's peel and stick albums and most of the photos are just tucked in the side pocket, whereas my sister who is the first has a beautifully written and organized baby book. I did intentionally choose an album for DD that is mostly photos and very little writing, though, because I knew those pages would end up blank otherwise. The only annoyance is the photo spots are all square and two different sizes, which means I have to resize and trim down photos to get them to fit.

I've done a decent job adding to that so I just ordered a set for DS2. Second child can't feel left out when the first one doesn't have a baby book either! My MIL is going to be disappointed the day she asks to look at it (she bought it for me) and learns there's nothing in it... I've debated trying to back-fill the book from the calendars, but that's not really something I can find the time to do. Maybe on maternity leave? But then I'll need to buy a book for DS2 too.

Dd's has quite a bit of writing, but most of it I can fill out before baby comes and then every month I kind of enjoy taking a night to remember all the little things that happened that month. The really annoying thing is all the picture spots are different sizes and shapes so I have to trim pretty much everything.

I'm in the same boat as Nymeria with the baby book. I have a really cute one for DS and I filled out a few things early on, but I've never added any pictures and I haven't added anything since early days. I tried to keep track of milestones and things that happened each month in an app with the thought that I could go back and fill out a baby book or photo book but sadly it's never really been a priority. I did make a really nice shadow box collage frame for DS that has all the important mementos from when he was born - a photo, foot prints, both of our hospital bracelets, the tiny hospital hat he came home in and the actual scissors MH used to cut the umbilical cord. It's hanging in the upstairs hallway where I see it everyday, so that makes me feel good about how I used the keepsake stuff. There's an empty space waiting to be filled to balance the whole wall - I'll make a similar frame for #2 😊

Everything looked good with baby's heart today! I didn't know the top two chambers of the heart have a valve in between them until the baby is born (usually blood never goes between the top two chambers) as a science teacher I was very surprised I had never learned this fact!

Dear Amazon Prime, You are the best!
My support belt got here already yesterday morning and my Welcome Box is coming today!
I tried out the belt yesterday and I think it will be helpful for when I'm standing and walking. But it's not as comfortable when sitting cause it wants to ride up around the sides of my hips. But that's fine for me cause I don't really need it for sitting! One other downside is that for me to feel like I'm really getting the support I want in front, I would have to make it pretty tight, which then feels like too much compression on my belly. So I actually have to wear it a little looser than I'd like to. But of course it'll take more regular wear to see if it really helps. I wore it under my clothes when I went out yesterday and I don't really think you can tell, so it's pretty low profile.

tbirdlove - Maybe the too tight/too loose situation will work itself out as your belly gets a bit bigger? Hope it helps!

Maybe I was doing it wrong, but they were totally useless. That's what I'm afraid of. I've always used a suction cup pull down shade cause that was all I really knew. But "technically" they're considered not safe because they can become a projectile in an accident.... So, now I feel bad since learning that! The only other thing I've seen are the clings and that Window Sock thing that looks ridiculous.

That's what I have - I think they're Brica. That sounds about right. I saw you replied saying why you wanted to get new ones. I honestly never even thought about that when I was using them. I had heard people say that about the backseat mirrors but I use one anyway because I feel safer being able to see DS, plus that thing would have to actually break to go flying. But it had never occurred to me to worry about the window shades.

I have the pull down shades in my car. Honestly there are a lot of things in my car that would be projectiles in a crash and I think those shades would be the least likely to hurt DD so I'm not too worried about it.
