enchanted, I am right there in the same boat with you about ablation. It's one thing to be done and another to be DONE. I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger and keep saying "maybe next month..."

I HAVE FINALLY CONVINCED HIM HE WANTS A HAIR CUT. It's getting pretty ridiculous. He wears a stretchy headband to school most days to keep his hair out of his eyes. He rocks it, but I like the way it looks better when it's not quite so shaggy.
He's been hanging with the neighbor kids a lot lately. H said he had six of them here last night while I was at the store, which sounds like my own personal hell, but H (and the boys of course!) had fun with it. He's very aware that he has a limited time left with everyone here, and he gets very emotional about choosing what to do.
He's also been listening terribly lately, and it's so frustrating, especially when I don't feel well anyway. I've been yelling too much and I hate it and the boys hate it. I finally told them from now on, it's a direction, one reminder, and then a consequence. No more extra reminders and ignoring me until I'm shouting. It seems like it's helping a bit.
As for me, my "2018 sucks" streak continues. After feeling crappy for a couple of days, I found a deer tick in the hollow of my knee Sunday morning. I'm on antibiotics for it, but the antibiotics are making me feel awful (ironically though, my skin looks awesome right now!). Hot flashes, cold flashes, GI issues... and I have 11 days left.
QOTW: He has a couple of weeks left of summer school, and then he'll do his normal summer reading program (both boys at the library) and then ninja class. Other than that, he's going to spend a few days with my parents by himself, which is basically like summer camp!

enchanted & hawkward - I'm in the same ablation boat. I can't seem to pull the trigger and MH had the big V already. PgAL is a total mindf**k... I can't seem to shut it off. Maybe we all plan our ablations for the same month. #ablationbuddies4lyfe (<---- too weird? ) We're struggling over here. J is doing well at school, but has had two bedtime wetting accidents the last two nights. I think it's anxiety/stress related. There's a lot going on in our house and I think she's picking up on MH and I trying to deal with it all. Plus, she's 5... this stuff happens. It's just very out of character. We're being patient and hoping it passes. Her pre-K graduation is Monday and I think that may be feeding her anxiety, too. She's been at this center since she was 12 weeks old and now all she hears about is graduation and going to a big, new elementary school. I'm not great. My mom isn't doing well, our car was totaled about two weeks ago, and our house was having repairs. Just lots of stress. BUT we got a used car and the house work is mostly done. I'm really needing some calm in my life. QOTW: She'll stay at her current DC center through the summer. They go on field trips and stuff all summer, so it's perfect for her.

hawkward - Dude, with all this stuff with my mom, I'm about to have a 'rip out my lady parts and let's start menopause early' party. Tagging addymac for the pancake talk... I have a cute story about J this week. I made super-special pancakes one night for dinner - regular pancakes with chocolate chips and rainbow sprinkles. J has dubbed them Sparkle Flutter Pancakes. I'm a cool mom, right?! I may be cool, but I'm dumb as rocks because now, at least twice a week, I get a request for Sparkle Flutter Pancakes, AKA diabetes on a plate. [face palm] This was weeks ago and she hasn't let up. Memory like an elephant, I swear.
